And yes, Jason, our guide, was really good and spotting animals that we would have never seen without him. As you probably saw, he also offers a world of information! @@EmmainCostaRica Thank you...we will contact him when the time gets closer. He was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor too. :) We really want to get the most out of our time there. The telescope seems like an indispensable tool... And would be great for birding. Thinking about bringing binoculars, but just more equipment to have to worry about. Saw there was a night time tour too. Que interesante!

Hola Emma, estoy por ir con mi familia a Manuel Antonio y van mis dos hijas de 7 y 12 años. Me encantaría llevarlas al parque pero me preocupa un poco que sea mucha caminata para ellas. Qué opinas? Cuánto tiempo hay que caminar? Saludos

Hola Carlos, yo pienso que van estar bien. La caminata no es mucho (obviamente depende en cuales senderos quieren ir - no se si ya abrieron más desde la grabación) pero para ir a la playa es muy facil y en el sendero “universal” hay bancos cada 50 metros si tienen que descansar. Pero cuando yo fui, vi mucha gente con niños. Creo que puede ser un día muy lindo, especialmente para ellas, si ven los animales 🐒

How many hours do you recommend expending at the park?

Well, it depends on what you would like to do there. I would easily say 4 hours or more if you want to have lots of beach time and explore. They open at 7am and close at 4pm most days - I could even imagine spending that amount of time there. Thanks for watching the video!

I was at Manuel Antonio the end of Nov and it was in my opinion, the biggest waste of money. Almost 20.00 vs 4.00 entry for costa rica was my biggest gripe. Very few animals seen other than lots of monkeys at the restaurant. Speaking of restaurants, THE MOST EXPENSIVE RESTURANT I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO. With that said, the park is beautiful, in all its natural form. But save your money and just walk around the beaches and you will see plenty of wildlife.

I don't know, I've heard about beaches in the states costing $20 to just sit there, no animals, surely its man-made too, and that cost is (I hope and think) going to things such as maintenance and upkeep, cleanliness, and likely portion to the government. I understand that $20 can seem like a lot, knowing you can see the animals anywhere around the area if you know what to look for, or just hang out for long enough, but also $20 is not going to break the bank. Gosh, if Miami can charge nearly $20 for a margarita that barely tastes like tequila, I think $20 for a hike/natural zoo, and incredible beach from 7am-4pm is pretty worth it. The restaurant I can't speak for, but as a tourist hotspot, and the fact that you can't really bring much in regards to food, it would make sense that it would be expensive, kind of like at a Zoo or Amusement Park in North America.

Yo pienso igual, pero, que podemos hacer... Creo que es uno de los parques mas caros en Costa Rica para nosotros, pero, de verdad yo creo que si vale si pases todo el día ahi

Hola. Creo que con ese dinero se mantienen otros parques que no tienen tanta visitación. A Costa Rica le ha costado muchísimo dinero y sacrificios conservar la naturaleza así como hemos renunciado a otras explotaciones para que se mantenga en su estado natural. Ver estas maravillas no tienen precio, creo que es muy bajo el precio.
