My Dream Universal Park in the UK: Hollywood, Jurassic World, Hogsmeade, Nintendo World, Universal Monsters + BTTF, ET & Jaws jammed in there somewhere too! I don't ask for much. Excellent video reporting on this first Engagement Event.
Greetings from USA here from California hopefully the Universal Great Britain Park/Resort does happen.Ill continue to hear updates and keep up the good work.
For me, there is only 1 Universal IP That I want to see in this park and thats Jurassic World or A ride based on Jurassic World, but of course, if this park gets built and goes ahead
I absolutely hate holidays and especially long flights so this UK Universal project is right up my alley. Hopefully it goes ahead and if it doesn’t words can’t express how gutted I will be.
During our talk (before or after yours?) The guy with glasses said TWICE "when we begin the build" rather than "if". He got pulled up by his colleague second time he accidentally said it. But they were laughing about making the mistake or...letting the cat out the bag? 😂
Didn't catch that during the presentation I saw, but didn't hear everything as there was a lot of chatter around me. The impression I got from the guys I spoke to was one of cautious optimism though 😊
Many have guessed they would try Lord of the Rings land and rides. Hmmm... I know British have stiff upper lips, but watching an Orc get its head cut off?? You can have the Shire. But, is that the "heart" of LOTR? I honestly am on the fence whether it can work.
As with any of these things, if they were to pick the right "land" it could work. I wouldn't say Diagon Alley is the "heart" of Harry Potter, per se, but works wonderfully as a themed area.
I would love it if it did happen but I reckon we will sadly lose again like we did with Disneyland Paris. It would be an ashamed missed opportunity if it didn’t go ahead. If it did go ahead it would attract more tourists and boost our economy
I reckon it will happen , there is so much support for this and the fact they have a master plan is very promising . I feel as if they must have some idea as to if this will go ahead . Be encouraged my friend ❤️🙏🏻 God bless
Honestly, I don't see why not tho. They already bought the land and have been liaising with local and national government since last year. If they can get parks off the ground in Japan , China, and Singapore I don't see why the UK should be so hard. Unless our government fck it up.
Whatever happens, and hopefully it will, then the weather and culture of UK will affect park content. I would guess more dark rides like Tokyo Sea. As far as existing UK parks are concerned they will either have to up their game or suffer the consequences. Sad fact in my opinion.
If this ever really does get built. Due to the UKs unpredictable year round weather yes they will have to build most of the park indoors if they want it to be open all year round.
the questions that i would put are is the uk theme park market big enough to acomidate a big player like universal studios ?? also would people be happy if as a result of the new universal theme park opening merlin group slims down and or other parks close ???
Universal has chosen this location due it's transport links from Europe, with Eurostar into London and Luton Airport nearby. UK visitors are obviously their bread and butter, but attracting tourism from further afield will be a big part of their plan too, as it is with Disneyland Paris. As for competing parks, I'd fear more for the smaller local parks like Gullivers and Wicksteed who may take a hit. Merlin proudly boast that they're the 2nd largest entertainments operator in the world, so the onus is on them to raise their game
@@LoopThemeParkAdventures I'm sure price point will also be a factor. Merlin's parks are never going to be as expensive as Universal and some people can't afford the bigger entry fees every year. Alton Towers and Thorpe Parks also have many more rides than Universal could have by the opening of their first phase. Ultimately competition is healthy.
I can understand that British sensibility due to so much disappointment coming beforehand. But I have more faith in this project because universal is a serious company. I’m optimistic that it will be successful.
If they can do something different such as use a James Bond IP or Doctor Who and steer away from duplicating Orlando, then it might work. I think it's 50/50 as to whether it will go ahead.
There will be 5/6 themed lands the unique draw compared to the other park will be lord of the rings. It won't have Harry Potter as that is staying unique to Orlando. The other lands be the best bits from there other parks will be Ninento/Pokémon, how to train your dragon, DreamWorks, Jurassic world.
@stevepage4504 Harry Potter isn't unique to Orlando, as they have it in their Hollywood park too. I saw their comments regarding unique attractions so as not to lose their Orlando tourism trade from the UK, however, I think not having a Potter land at a park here would be a big own goal. The biggest challenge may come from Warner Bros themselves though, with them having the HP studios less than an hour down the road. My feeling is that it'll be a mix of proven popular IPs from their other parks and attractions unique to the UK. 😊
