i was gonna do what you did here a month ago but stayed in the Turkish Lounge 4 hours. Quite impressed- scanned me in with PP didn't even check my Boarding Pass (rare occasion i dressed well- guess that helped)
I'm flying business class with ITA Airways in September from Dulles to Rome. Do you know if ITA (formerly Alitalia) has it's own lounge or will I just use one of the SkyTeam lounges? I have PP through Amex Platinum card, so I'm covered. Thanks for the video, this will help me choose a lounge if there is no ITA lounge.
To my knowledge they don’t have their own lounge so if I had to guess they would push you to the Air France/KLM lounge. But with your priority pass/AMEX you are more than covered on every level.
A priority pass is something that is offered with certain credit cards. They have a cost associated with them depending on the credit card you get it with. I’m not sure of how to get them any other way. They definitely make a big difference if you travel often but it also depends on the airports you frequent.
Just out of curiosity, if you had a 12 hour layover, how did you get into the lounges? I thought it was 3 hours prior to your flight. Does that not matter with layovers? Thanks for the video.
It sort of depends. I don’t run into that problem at Dulles but do run into it at times at other airports. Always a problem with the Centurion lounges though. The others seem more flexible as long as I tell them I’m only gonna be there a short time.
I would suggest eating at the Turkish lounge, then drinking at the Virgin lounge. The Lufthansa lounge is small but I’d rank it third. Then United, then Air France/KLM because I like their booze. Then British Airways last. British Airways was nice, but didn’t offer much for food/drinks.
They all can be tricky in their own ways to get in with the Priority Pass but I would say your best chance is the British Airways lounge. The rest are really 50/50 at best but you have to also take into consideration the hours which are different for all the lounges.
