I love it!!! You are in my hometown of Memphis!!!! I haven’t lived there in over 30 years but still have family there… that pink Cadillac you saw was the one he bought for his mother and the one my dad reupholstered for Elvis… he brought home scraps of the pink shag carpet he put in and gave it to all the neighborhood kids!! My dad had an upholstery shop behind Sun Records and he said he heard Elvis cut his first record for his mom… dad said Sam Phillips came out to his shop and told my dad “did you hear my next star”…. My cousin and in-laws went to Humes High School at the same time as Elvis before he was Elvis… in fact my cousin borrowed my fathers car at the time for Prom and double dated with Elvis and his date…. Story was my cousin and his date left Elvis at the prom coz they wanted time alone… my in-laws told me Elvis was a bit of an outsider because of how he dressed and his hair… they said his white t-shirts with rolled up sleeves and his ducktail hair set him apart from the avg kid … I have another cousin, singer/songwriter Deborah Allen who lives in Nashville now … she wrote a song and did a video called Amazing Graceland, as a tribute to Elvis… ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-B4xbyXxumPU.htmlsi=Khixa1MRk2AZQ1gk I am positive she has some great stories she could share too…. Thanks for all the memories and I’m so glad you enjoyed your trip and the famous southern hospitality!!
Love touring old mansions. Enjoyed seeing Elvis's home. You and Katy take the coolest trips. The Saint Louis Union Station has really changed since the Aquarium was added. Upstairs videos of ocean scenes are shown on the enormous curved ceiling in the hotel's dining room. A ferris-wheel was added outside plus an ice cream shop,etc.. Glad you enjoyed the Grand Ole Opera Show. ❤
The realistic painting of the wood grain and the marble is called trompe-l'oeil, pronounced tromp loy. I love Jack White. You two make great travel partners.😊
I was at the same show. Wish I had known you and Katie were there. I would have loved to have met you. I was the third row from the stage. Hope you enjoyed the show. Keith Urban is always amazing. He is my absolute favorite.
I’ve missed you for so long, but this made the wait worth it! Everything was elegant and the food looked delicious! I could tell you enjoyed every single moment. The details in the homes were just exquisite! Please don’t stay away so long in between your visits, it worries me so I’m sure it worries others as well. 💖
The Bellmount was stunning 🤩. The area around Graceland look 100% different than when I visited back in the early 90s. I could stay in that hotel lobby forever. Such a classy restaurant so sad you didn't take all the kids out to eat also 😂.
This was so fun watching the two of you together. You go to the most awesome places. Nashville was great, everything about it. Loved seeing Katie again and you too Jeffrey. You make each other smile a lot and I’m sure all your viewers are too. We’re having a cold snowy weekend in ohio so seeing all the flowers blooming and people walking around without winter coats on was something. Elvis home was different than I imagined it. Looked smaller and decorating was probably a decorators nightmare. Elvis loved color, I guess. 💕to both of you
Nice i havnt been back to Graceland since my honeymoon in 1983. I visited the Grand Old Opry a few years back. I lived on the outskirts of Nashville for 20 years. The best time of my life.
Oh my. My sister and our husbands did the Nashville trip last fall too. Looks like you and Katie had a grand old opry time of it!! We had the back-stage tickets and it was well worth the extra $$ to see it. Good for you that you get to travel and see our beautiful country. Because of you and Katie, I insisted that we go to the 5 sisters donut shop when we were there. Love your videos!!
Thanks for sharing this amazing video. I grew up close to Nashville/ Memphis and visited these spots many times growing up. Been awhile so thanks for the flashback. Elvis' home is a hoot with the crazy decor! Enjoy the rest of your trip. Safe travels.
I live approx halfway between Memphis & Nashville. Isn't Nashville fabulous???? So much to offer to everyone! Mud Island is probably my fave Memphis attraction, but been many years since I went - may have changed.
The Ryman auditorium is wonderful and the new grand old Opry is crap.😮 It’s a shame they moved it out of a beautiful building and put it in like a shanty in the mall parking lot
