One very interesting thing is that Lech Poznan is currently banned from attending away games, but because of the hospitality of Legia fans they attended the game without their colours, that’s why they were in such a small number and wearing all black, otherwise they would come with 2000 people and the show would be even more electric. Thanks for coming to Warsaw from a Żyleta veteran.

the fact why there were so few of Lech Poznań fans is that the league court banned them from going to Warsaw because they destroyed away sector at the match with Widzew Łódź. They got full ban so they wouldnt get in to the stadium but Legia fans organized some 'things' so they would get in on a regular sector next to regular Legia fans. They said that Legia's ultras/hools would protect Lech fans on the stadium and that Legia fans wont do chants against Lech and vice versa. These clubs absolutely hate each other but in Poland we say "Football for the fans" and we really mean it to the point that we can put hatred towards other clubs aside

Just came to my hotel from the game .. what an experience 🔥 From what i have heard, Lech fans were banned because of some events from last week so Legia ultras bought them tickets to go to the game .. out of respect for their rivalry. Also this is why the lech fans weren't in the usual away sector and had no banners/drums with them. Overall great experience 🙌

Next time come to Poznań! Games against Legia are always lively, also Lech stadium is much bigger and that's why is sometimes louder! It's great fun to watch these two clubs playing against each other.

No tifo and no pyro today because the Legia fans want to make a statement that if the local authorities can't let tifos and flags into the Cup Final in a few weeks then no Legia fans will come to the final which is what the Lech Poznan fans did last season. Hopefully, you come again and experience an even better atmosphere I would recommend the Holy War which is Wisla Krakow vs Cracovia if we [Wisla] get promoted this season or the same game at Lech Poznans stadium. It was still electric today though.

Great video! Come to Poznan for the same game as well - the stadium is some 25% bigger and arguably Legia game is more important to us than a Lech game is to them :) Both Lech and Legia Ultras are one of the best in Europe for sure. And Warsaw is an amazing city, I love it.

Hey man, I was at the game and i think i even saw you while you recorded the goalkeepers warmup under my stand, just thought youre a regular photographer and now this video got recommended to me at home. The game was suspended for a while because the linesman had an "emergency" and they had to bring in the 4th ref and then they had to switch again after he came back. Glad you enjoyed your stay, hope you visit again some day!

Good job. Three days before was an amazing atmosphere in Poznań: Lech vs. Florentina.

Lech Poznan fans were not allowed to attend as a penalty for their behavior in one of the previous matches. Nevertheless, there were some of them, only because Legia fans were smart and helped them get some tickets as a sign of solidarity, although they usually hate each other. There is "Der Klassiker" in Bundesliga between Dortmund and Bayern, the "El Clasico" in Primera División in Spain between Real and Barcelona, the Polish Ekstraklasa has its "Derby Polski" (Derby of Poland) between Lech and Legia. This match was excellent, a great entertainment right after so boring game between Getafe and Barca

Personally, I think Polish ultras are some of the most organized and best choreos in all of Europe. Would argue that they are on par with German ultras. Amazing clubs, fans, cultures, and country. Nothing but the upmost respect from Long Island Rough Riders USA! 🇺🇸🔵🔴

The animosity is not because they are from capital, but because of history. During communism regime they belong to army (CWKS - Centralny Wojskowy Klub Sportowy - Central Military Sports Club), so whenever there was any good player, he was called to serve in the army. So there was a choice for him - 2 years of standard service, or playing for Legia. Other fans in Poland don't like them because this club used to use the power to forcefully take players from other teams. Also, they used to have as a president general who was responsible for brutal suppressions of protests against hated communism regime. Another thing is "Sunday of Miracles" in '93, you can read about it, to understand a bit more.

Clubs hate Legia Warsaw not only for being the most decorated club in Poland history and being from the capital, but also from her name and what she has done. It's CWKS - centralny wojskowy klub sportowy (central military sports club). During the cold war and communism in Poland, Legia took many many players from other clubs to herself and was like a parasite. Legia growed bigger and bigger at the expense of other clubs.

2/3 years ago there were much bigger emotions cause at this match fans were in some kind of peace and also match was on early hours. Legia-Lech at night with some fans conflict has about 2137% more emotions

I think you should come again to watch Raków Częstochowa their last game being championship this season, it's very rare to see somebody else than Legia/Lech on fire for winning the championship.

Club supporting in Poland remained old fashioned - unfortunately thats not the same case in Polish national team games where "picnic fans" come to take selfie and post on instagram, instead of supporting. In clubs its a different story.

You have to see the hardest to go football team in Poland also! Its almost no chance to buy ticket to Widzew match. Its because all passes was bought, and there is no empty ticket in stadium. You have to contact with individual person to buy his ticket or buy it one day before match at 12:30 (warsaw time). But you have only sth around 2minutes to do it, because everyone wants to buy thats tickets

you need to go to the final of poland cup there will be Legia Warszawa and Raków Częstochowa it's another Classic in polish league

To be true the rivaly between Lech Poznań and legia warszawa comes from the fact that during the cold war, as Poland was communist legia was so called "army club" so players got to choose between serving in military for 5 years or playing for another club for 5 years and legia USED it to be "the most successful club in Poland"
