I'm a beta reader for belladonna and let me just say, The book is so great and addicting. It helped me through hard things in my life and I couldn't be more happy to get to see the book early. This is a guaranteed bestseller
I feel like you're WAY MORE braver than your age group when it comes to facing challenges in life. It’s very impressive how you've read all those negative things about that island, and yet you proceeded to go anyway. BRAVO! Ps. This Belladonna trilogy series is super dope! Can't wait for the actual book
that's probably because most of the warnings about mindanao are massively out of date. I have a friend that's in a high ranking position on the PH Police force and the amount of incidents there after duterte are VERY small. Mindanao is generally no more dangerous than any other island these days. The state department needs to re evaluate their warning. Imagine if the state department applied it's own rankings to states in the US? Most of them would be level 4 lol.
It’s weird how even tho I’m not Filipino and I don’t remember going to my mum’s home country the video felt nostalgic. There also seem to be loads of ideas going into belladonna, it’s definitely going to be great!
I am from the northernmost part of the Philippines and Mindanao is a beautiful place. I've been there several times both for work and recreation and I always had pleasant experiences and memories to share. Thr locals are lovely and welcoming regardless if they're the Lumad (Mindanao indigenous peoples), Muslims, or Christians.
Interesting I always went to Mindanao every time I visited the Philippines. My family are based in Balingasag. Visited Cagayan de Oro, Jasaan, El Salvador, numerous villages near Balingasag. I visited Bohol and Cebu and Manila.
i can relate to "feeling like a foreigner" when visiting my country where my parents are from. whenever i was there, it honestly felt like a second home as well though. i really liked this vlog, made me reminisce a lot and loved the positive energy :)
Damn, you make such great quality content. Like I'm amazed. Yeah, as someone who's traveled solo before. If where your going has a bad reputation, maybe before you go try to make friends with a local who can show you around, if you don't have family in the area. That way, you get to see all the great local spots while traveling in a group. You also get a new friend!
I lived in Mindanao for a time, and the last time I’ve been there was last year. I lived in a place called Iligan, that’s where my grandparents in my father’s side lives. But then me and my family moved to Luzon, Tagaytay for School.
See, I can sort of guess the context behind the topic of your next video from the beta draft, but the tone shift from "dangerous island" to "beets" was immaculate. Nightshade Academy truly has it all. Anyway I'm glad you had a good time reconnecting with your family and friends!! :D
I watched your videos about you writing books. Didn't know that you are a half Filipino. I myself is a Bisaya. :))))) good to know your Mother is from Mindanao. :))))))
whoa, its mind blowing your a half Filipino? No half Filipina, i lived in Luzon which in the central part of Phil, though haven't visit mindanao because of risk factor might be but it is a virgin island which most only local people have had only lived. That's amazing i watched many of your videos and not one of them giving me a hint that your a Filipino Haha.
