I always get more annoyed than scared when the people in the story have unbelievably low levels of self preservation. Room full of radioactive dust? Let’s just go and touch everything
@@S1LV3R_11 Been Mrballen fan way before lighthouse but Mr ballen I'm pretty much listen to every other narrator storyteller out there but no one else matches these guys only thing Mrballen went from 3,4 sometimes 5 times a week to just once on Sunday and Mr lighthouse here has been by far the best next in line everything else falls short pretty much
There have been nature studies in the area. What you need to worry about are all the wild animals like bears that now live in the area. You don't need monsters, because regular nature is coming back and taking possession.
There's a really cool video of a very large back of wolves just sauntering down the main street through town. Similar videos of bear, moose, musk oxen....I wouldn't be surprised if Almasty and Yeti weren't poking around as well...
When I was a toddler, I was deathly afraid of balloons. I just barely remember it, and most of what I know about it comes from family. Always wondered why the hell I'd ever be afraid of a balloon? I always just assumed someone popped one, and it scared me. I never would have imagined a ballon could even BE creepy until this story. Also... none of them had a balloon's worst nightmare. A sewing needle. Sure, the knife didn't work, but a needle just might have. Why? Superman fears Kryptonite and balloons fear needles, lol 😆
Lol, I'm a Chernobyl baby and it's always fascinating, seeing what kinds of interesting fantastical stories people cook up. I wish I got something cool, but unfortunately, all I was left with was several autoimmune diseases, a few degenerative musculoskeletal ones and a bunch of tumors. If only I'd gotten superpowers instead! Or turned into some sort of beast. (my experience isn't unique, btw. Quite a few people have experienced similar. I have several cousins who are equally ill as well as other people we know who were also in that area. Also, Chernobyl didn't "blow up"; it was a melt down)
The one thing that stands out with these stories (apart from them being by far the best out there) is there is never any swearing whatsoever. That is so refreshing.Thank you Lighthouse for having & keeping to standards. So rare these days
Thank you Stephen for another awesome pasta. Top notch work as always, and definitely a somewhat creepy one. I don't know, there's just something about the monster just silently floating around following people that's kinda eerie. Anyway thank you for making my night/morning. 🖤🖤🖤🖤
This was definitely a creepy one! It seems to have taken elements from Stephen King’s It along with John Carpenter’s The Thing and placed them in an even creepier setting than either story’s original locations.
The balloon head and strings aspect of this story is exactly like it’s copied from a Japanese Horror anime airing on Netflix for over a year. The Japanese anime is called Hanging Balloon and I wonder how long before this story was written it was written and animated. I think sometimes creative ideas are put out into the collective unconscious for multiple people to collect and tell the same story at the same time which is weird in itself. Junkies Ito maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre is the Netflix show.
I've said it before, And I'll say it again ! Another awesome video.. Love the video love the channel... I have a channel of my own and to tell you the truth, I wait to see when you put something new out So I don't miss any of your videos...GregM from EXPLORING DARKNESS Ghost Media.
This really killed the story for me since, in actuality, you can't get anywhere near the plant itself and it's inside a giant coffin to block the radiation
I do believe the MC is also dead. One: the Geiger counter was "crazy" he says and with no protection, he's taking full dose. Two: The head is the source, which he for some reason thought going straight to it and hold on to was a good idea. Three: The baloon seems like a mobile elephant foot.
A good twist on a creature from Junji Ito’s story. Almost sounds like a prequel, except in Junji Ito’s story, everyone’s faces were already on the balloons before death.
I feel for the protagonist, and get that without dumb decisions there wouldn't be a story . But for fs sake sooo many dumb decisions and foreboding signs to get out . Love your narration as per usual!
It is possible to have stories without the characters making dumb decisions, it just takes effort, but since the writers of those stories are not paid I'm not really bothered much, I feel offended though when the same thing is made by professionals, be it book authors or hollywood screenwriters.
@@diegonatan6301 that's what I mean , you can make a smart mc in a shitty situation. But it was a fun story. I don't complain that mc.donalds isn't serving stake 😂
Interestingly reactor 1 and 2 were still running normally until the year 2000. Also the Azur swimming pool which most know from CoD was open until 1996 and mostly used by workers of the powerplant, scientists and liquidators.
I’ve a question for all you who fall asleep to the videos. How do you know where in the story you’ve left off at ?; considering you’ve now fallen asleep?? Yes this is a genuine question. Great scary story. That description of that balloon head was terrifying! Helps to have a good imagination ! Thanks for reading to me
I typically just listen to the whole thing then sleep. If I fall alseep durring the video, I'll just forward back to the last stuff I heard/remembered. If I dont remember anything, I'll just listen to it again lol.
Whenever I fall asleep while listening, I typically rember nothing lel Either I rewind to the last thing I rember, like youngslegacy, or just restart the whole thing after I'm awake
Lighthouse and Darkness Prevails are my top narrators. Check out Datkness too. He has thousands of videos and reads stories very similarly to Stephen here😊
@@larale2323, the reactor thing happened 1986. When they wrote him, it had not happened. And since real life isn't a creepy pasta, they where not retroactively killed by radiation that moves back in time (though, that's a nice plot for a story) When the people moved, they left almost everything behind, jewellery per example. The person writing them most likely had left their address back in Chernobyl, so they couldn't write them anymore, but probably where relatively safe .
@@MojosGardenI expect them to have left everything behind, and likely neither had the address nor the time to write. Especially after loosing everything.
@MojosGarden no the letters stopped. It seems from the videos I have watched, they left everything behind. The town looks like all of the people just disappeared.
Am I crazy that I actually want to go to Chernobyl. I have been all over the world as a Combat Security Contractor protecting company assets for oil companies, basically a private soldier and I want to go and do something that is scarier than combat.
I dont know if anyone has told you this but your videos are perfect for going on drives in Grand Theft Auto 5. I just get in the main characters car, turn on a story, and drive
That moment when it is clearly weak to fire and this guy _doesn't_ go back with a few others and flamethrowers. Like seriously. That's gotta be one of the easiest weaknesses to exploit. Especially since it's *_drawn to heat._*
The real scary thing about Chernobyl are the very hungry dogs that need more food and head pats!! I'm being totally serious, a bunch of pets were left behind, eventually roaming and having pups. There's not a lot of food, though, so they are skin and bones. But very good dogs. ...Of course, I say that, but the concept of this monster balloon is actually incredibly unnerving. I might have a nightmare over it. Neat~
