Yesterday my daily accord(k24a4) wiped the exaust cam at 170k and I had a flashback to this video during disassembly. Had a k20a3(ep3 motor) in the shed with the same cam, rocker assembly saving my life. Good video.
I have to replace camshafts and a couple rollers, on my 09 RDX K23a1 engine. And this video really helped have a better idea of what working with. Thank you for the video. Note: It’s my first time replacing camshafts, if theres anyone out there with any good tips their willing to share, thank you in advance.
Very nice video! when I pulled mine out I lost some springs and a few tubes. There is a center lever part on mine that looks like it should go between the smaller tube with the spring and the larger tube. All in all great video thanks!
Spiral clips are best for high rpm! like you said... trick to everything. You can pull the spiral apart pretty far to open for install and feed in like a key ring then pull the tip towards the center of the wrist pin and unwind to remove.
Very cool vid, after doing the a2 cams with a3 rocker arms(vtek killer combo) did you have issues tuning the setup in cold weather? Kinda debating on doing this but whats stopping me is not knowing if its properly tunable with k-pro/wideband. Ep3 K20a3 with I/H/C/E on full type R/Mugen suspension combo but older engine, wanted a bit more power but still need to be able to go to work cuz I use it daily and would not like to do a engine swap if possible.
Bro I just had to do the 3rd 90 degree turn and after the first 90 I was like htf am I gonna be able to do 2 more 90 degree turns. But I managed to get it. I used felpro tty bolts. I messed up and didn't put the cam cap bolt back in the rocker arm to hold it in place so now I'm tryna get it lined back up on the intake side.
What should be done if the hydraulic piston or pin that activates the vtec gets stuck and does not return? Is it necessary to disassemble the rocker arms to be able to repair it or can it be solved without disassembling? To disassemble the rocker arms, all the springs of the rest of the valves must be decompressed? i am having this problem on a f23a accord engine on cylinder #4. the vtec pin spring is stuck, Greetings from Venezuela
