You lucky bastard, you get to experience this amazing game with fresh eyes in the best way in a remade way that just improved everything about it, I'm seriously jealous of new players getting to experience this version of Dead Space! Hope you guys enjoy the thrills and scares that will come your way! 👍
I've been a series veteran and this game is still amazing. The fact that the tram is now a fast travel mechanic rather than plot progression is amazing.
It's my first time too, I've only tried like a minute of a demo of the first one, but at the time I was more into Resident Evil Zombies then the Dead Space kind, then I played Callisto Protocol & wanted to play Dead Space
So far from what I'm seeing, there aren't that many improvements plus I have to babysit 2 idiots while listening to their boring ass dialogue. Maybe it getter over time.
Bro this is game is actually sick and makes me want to play it. I've never wanted to play a horror game more than this. Also I really want to see IGP play the rest of this game it looks like a really good game.
If you got to play the original in '08, you got the better experience. Scary af. Dead Space is one of my top games of all time. The remake is great but it lost alot of the fear factor in translation
all nice and all but the remake aint gonna pop the cherry its like the evil dead movies... they are better just because they are old... same as that resident evil 2 og is scarier then the remake.. the crappy-ness gives an extra layer of scaryness
EA should just have made dead space 4 instead of rehashing "their" old stuff... the devs of callisto prob got in some juristicial issue with ea laywers just so they could leach this game more atleast that is what i hope otherwise i wonder who the genius was that made the original dead space
@@De_Lus it was actually two guys named Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey who made the original dead space games before they got booted and the studio got shut down which is EA fault cause they meddled with the 3rd game
thank you for playing this IGP, i know you aren't into triple A titles, but this game was a big part of my life growing up, seeing you play this makes it even better with a hint of nostalgia
IGP: I'm at out of bullets?! Also IGP: Shooting everything but the limbs. 😂 This game brings back memories. I think this was truly the first horror game I really liked that wasn't L4D2. It was also one of the horror games giving me Dead Space nightmares in high school. 😂 Thanks for playing the game! But Yeah, I think they decided to make Issacs talk in this one, and give him a face. The reworked a lot of stuff for the remake. I really want to go it.
Also at 14:00 , "ooh he may like this bit, ok yea shoot the red thing... the red thing... shoot the red things... oh no wai- (curb stomps the explosives) LMAO".
i was actully a little hard for me to watch him shoot the babys, it like DUDE WAIT FOR THE TENTICLES PLEASE ;-; usually he catches on to those things but the limbs REALLY seemed a after thought most times
@@SaninSunnuni If you've spent your entire life playing videogames and being taught to go for the head or the torso, your going to do that. Dead Space plays into that by forcing you to not aim for center mass.
DUDE. The freaking audio effects you put on your voice when ur in the areas exposed to the vacuum of space is absolutely amazing and just adds to the immersion so much!!
I love that they recreated the wonkiness of the old ragdoll physics in a AAA title in 2023, the pirouetting necromorph head/giblet/thing at 15:19 brings me joy.
IGP to answer your question in the first game Isaac was a silent protagonist and his face was only revealed at the very end of the game, also a little tip so you don’t regret playing the game yes you can use the stasis to slow down enemies, you can rip apart the Necromorphs blades and used them to impale orders with kinesis but only on the ones that are dead dead if there still moving you can’t use they’re blades.
not entirely true. Occasionally, the limb will still be connected by a few strands of muscle connecting it, but it's just dangling. you can rip those off and fire them.
@@necrochemical5572 Really?, that never happens to me butttt also I normally used that tactic when I’m over run by a big group so probably I never notice, thanks for the info
@@deadmanwalking2714 yup. weapons like the plasma cutter and linegun slice right through them, but blasts from the pulse rifle or throwing a vent fan at them can cause it to happen. It's not always, but more often than not.
God, this really makes me feel old lmao. I was 14 when it came out in 2008. I'm 28 now. I'm so happy to see people experiencing this series for the first time. My favourite was DS2 and I hope they remake the second one seeing as this one looks like it's going to do well in sales, have fun guys : ) P.S i actually recommend lowering the brightness settings for an even creepier feel :P
Also born 1994 and am 28. Time goes by so fast once you’re an adult. Loved this game but it terrified me as a kid. I played one and two recently and had a lot easier of a time with it.
Played every dead space and this remake has still scared the crap out of me a couple times. And I really love how much better conversations flow with Isaac talking and reacting to this crazy situation.
No idea why, but it was driving me nuts at the fact he wouldn’t just sell a small med pack, or a little bit of ammo, for the tiny amount he needed for the upgraded suit lmao, great video
he has this astounding ability to not pay attention to important details or read things when it's first brought up, so i seriously doubt he even realized that there was an option to sell things, even though he looked right at it lol what REALLY bugged me was how he passed right over a room he had to reroute power to open its door in the cargo area and he would have gotten a bronze semiconductor. would have tipped him over the amount he needed as soon as he got to the tram. But that's just my inner loot goblin getting annoyed.
@@necrochemical5572 it truly amazes me at how oblivious he is to the most basic things, stuff that, THE GAME TELLS YOU. That’s why I normally don’t watch IGP for games that are story driven or that have really intricate ways to play.
The game progression is about the same as I remember. Dead space was great at tension management, that part where it presented you the monster like it was the first time was just to create tension before the combat. It does that a lot, builds up, then lots of combat and then calms down. One of the many reasons this game was a horror masterpiece. Also, I hate to backseat, but the game hinted at you several times you should cut their limbs off. That is why it is taking so long and so much ammo for you to kill them.
In the original game Isaac was mostly confined to grunts and assorted mouth noises, and indeed had no spoken dialogue. You are able to see his face after the crash landing when the game gives you this brief opportunity to turn the camera around before he puts his helmet on, and you see his face at the end of the game.
As ever, the environmental editing you do for your voice is ASTOUNDING -- one of my favorite things you do! Entering space and making it sound like you're speaking through the helmet? SO COOL. You're one of the most immersive creators I've ever had the pleasure of watching, and I hope this video takes off like a shot, I'd love to see you complete a classic!!
I remember playing this, and the later games. I love that Isaac got a voice in the remake. Its also fun to see IGP's reactions to things. It would be amazing to see you doing a full playthrough of the game, even if it takes several episodes
What an absolute rare gem it is to get to see someone’s first play through of this i wish I could experience the primal fear I had at 10years old first playing this, how time flys by
I literally didn't realize that the astronaut voice when you were in the zero G areas was you and not coming from the game until you screamed LMAO. Absolute top tier audio editing as usual from you.
i really do love the effects on the voice you add, like the effect when isaac went into the vacuum. absolutely great game, first time seeing it. really hope for a part 2
Writing on wall: "Shoot limbs off to kill" Audio recording: "Shoot limbs off to kill" IGP: *shoots head off and it doesn't die* "WHAT?! WHY?!" Never change man
Game play wise yea they die when you cut the limbs off but lore wise they don't ever die they're just rendered immobile. Also really loving the remake it's so awesome that your voice actually changes when you enter the vacuum in space. Maybe these remakes will be the thing that nets us a dead space 4!?
I didn't even think of it being a horror game until a couple years ago when someone mentioned it. "What do you mean, it's not a... a... huh, I guess it actually is". And funny thing is I don't like playing horror, but the DS series is one of my all time faves.
I watched the animated movie first which terrified me out of playing the game. Watching you play scares me back into when I was a young teen, I can't help but feel the anxiety of potential panic attacks about to come on when I hear the ambiance.
It is worth it to continue a video for this. Please do it. Your comments and and reactions are hilarious. It's great man. Keep going with the Dead Space Reamake. Other RU-vidrs are covering it so keep it up mam. IGP for Dead Space!
This is great! Love watching someone's first playthrough. Also loving the minimal edits. Please make this into a series! Would love to watch you see it through to the end!
Not sure if they kept this feature, but you should be able to use the limbs from the necromorphs with kinesis to impale others to save ammo. What a nostalgic thrill this one was though!
That wasn’t in Dead Space 1, it was introduced in Dead Space 2, but they added it to the remake so you can do it now to conserve ammo, but there’s no need, the game gives you plenty of ammo, IGP just doesn’t pay attention when the game tells him something. And as much as I hate to say it, he kinda sucks at this game, *FOR NOW*, I’m sure he’ll read some of the tips and take pointers from us who have been playing this game the past 15 years, and maybe, just maybe, he’ll get good. Love IGP and his videos, it’s just certain games require you to pay attention and do certain things in order to progress or properly play the game.
Dammmn, I remember being 18 playing this for the first time. It was intense and different, and hard because it was so intense like the necromorphs did not hesitate for a second!! Now I'm a couple weeks away from 33 and seeing all these old games coming back remastered/remade is making me feel extra old lately
I'm actually jealous of the people who get to experience this for the first time. I already played the original and from what I've seen so far this remake one-ups the original in a lot of ways.
Considering how much I avoid horror games now it amazes me how my 13-14 year old self played this game the whole way through back in 2008. Keep bringing back the memories!
The original paved the way for gore and atmospheric horror, having the best ragdoll gore and dismemberment mechanics... Along with the terrifying death screens where Issac gets ripped appart.
coming from someone who mainly uses the pulse rifle. it starts off somewhat shitty, but its a force of nature once its upgraded. so happy to see you play this. i hope you play its entirety so we can see someone with fresh eyes on it experience this.
19:24 surely it is because, in this case, everyone is panicking and doubting everyone else. You can kinda come in and gather info on everything to your advantage... or well, at least that is why I think Isaac could survive :P
IGP : "why won't they die!?" IGP keeps forgetting the 1st rule of dead space 'cut their limb' he tends to do bullet barrage into the necromoph rather than precise cut to the limbs.
The edited voice of being in a vacuum was perfection haha Also yes I wanna see more. Just remember, you're running out of ammo cuz you need to be more surgical with cutting their limbs off. The babies are eating ammo because body shots do far less damage. You have to wait for them to expose the tentacles and cut em off
Glad to see you're enjoying it. My playthough is about as far as this video, and so far it's playing a lot like the original, just less clunky. I'm undecided if the smoother controls are "good", as the awkwardness of it added a lot to the oppressive atmosphere of the original game. If it's like the original, the game will also leave you fairly free to go back and explore previous areas for any loot you've missed. Some of the late game upgrades can get expensive, so backtracking is a way you can pick up some extra credits between recording sessions.
I love that you get to experience this game for the first time ! It's still one of my most favourite games ! So far, from watching you play the remake, it looks the exact same, just prettier graphically :)
If you want to know a good tip on how to conserve ammo without just spamming shots you should try and use your stasis on enemies to slow them down. You can also get suit upgrades using nodes that extend stasis duration, stasis blast size, etc which can help a lot in terms of crowd control so that you don't have to worry about panicking and popping off shots like crazy. Also, if I remember correctly from my experience of playing the original game, most of the basic enemies will die regardless if they lose 2 limbs so my recommendation to conserve more ammo is to focus fire on 1 leg then one arm once they're on the ground. For the crawlers that have spike tails I'd recommend toggling your plasma cutter to being vertical rather than horizontal since that should make it easier to sever their arms. Other than that stuff my only other suggestion would be to look around the map as much as possible (even if you're going to backtrack on yourself) instead of just trying to blaze right through the game as much as possible because the reason why you aren't finding all that much ammo and such anymore is because after Chapter 01 the devs start hiding a lot of the major loot in side rooms and such. My personal favorites I would call "loot rooms" since these rooms specifically would have multiple containers to loot and a node box inside of them. P.S. Stomp every human corpse you see. You'll understand as to why later on down the line.
Bro you gotta turn this into a series, this is one of the best games I've seen in a long damn time, not to mention a hilarious RU-vidr in the seat playing, bro please turn this into a series.
I remember I used to watch my dad play it for the first time on the PS3. Then he stopped at some point. When I tried the game out for him, I was better than him. I was like 7-8 years old at the time and thought this is one of the games that were too scary for me to watch as a kid. Don’t know if I will get this game to get a full experience myself but maybe I will.
Brother you kept saying this is beautiful for 2008. like did you instantly forget that you were playing the 2023 remaster? It's so far from the original its not even funny xD the og game does look good for 2008 but if you are gonna fangirl about how good it looks in 2008 play the 2008 version.
Fun Fact: When your character is hunched over, he's nervous and possibly scared too. That's what I heard. It's a cool detail. Idk why I commented this I just thought it was cool.
this remake was my first entry into dead space as well. I had always heard good things so I decided to give this a try. just finished the game last night and all I can say is WOW. I hope you do more videos on this game.
Dude you've become my fav game tuber by far. Dig your insights and attention to detail, and you genuinely seem passionate about investigating these titles and enjoying their journeys. Props fr
If you do end up playing this again. When going up against the babies, wait until their tentacles come out and shoot off two that'll kill them and save you ammo. You can also use your telekinesis to grab the dead necromorph's limbs and use those to impale the others. I do hope you continue this game. It is always nice to see genuine first time player reactions on such a beloved game. :)
I'm kind of surprised you're rushing through the environment. I expected you to take in the atmosphere, environment, and sounds. The developers have rebuilt this iconic horror location as a living breathing environment. Everything you see in the ship makes sense and has a purpose. Example: The Clone chamber lab is a prosthetic lab since limb loss is a common occurrence on a Planet Cracker Vessel. Keep an eye on your environment, use all your resources. Stasis If you have to, TK boxes, pipes or anything sharp. Aim to peel and rip off any limbs and tentacles off these things, and you just might survive. I am so excited for you to meet the horrors in Dead Space. Goodluck and make us whole
Im so hyped you're finally playing this! Though for future reference the ones that crawl on the walls and ceiling you should aim for the head/neck if you want to be efficient.
Funfact; in Dead Space 2, the devs added a character who is literally a direct reference to Lovecraft - Howard Phillips, H.P. Edit: also dude, you got to stop going for bodyshots. The game tells you like 10 times to go for the limbs for a reason. That means go for the arms. And to answer your question, yes, you can stasis enemies.
IGP, you are absolutely gonna suffer later on if you don't take some time to explore. Go into the rooms that aren't marked as your objective and use those circuit breakers to open the other paths to get a lot of extra supplies. It will be worth it in the long run Also, you can use kinesis to pick up the breakable crates and throw them to break them in zero g
Is this some kind of RU-vidr disease that they all have to rush everything? So much loot and things have been overlooked because of this type of gameplay. I will never understand it.... Whereas it will probably be more because of the competition and time pressure. Still, it's a shame because I'm probably not the only person who finds it less fun to watch.
You probably ran out of ammo because you'd been picking up pulse rounds tbh. you'll usually find ammo belonging to the weapons you have on you, so i'd suggest either storing or selling the pulse rifle if you don't want to keep finding ammo for it. there's better weapons than it either way later on/soon if the remake follows like the original.
easily top 5 best youtubers. thx for playing this. also, if you do comeback to this, the plasma rifle can be used the defeat enemies when ur surrounded, and you can slow enemies with the stasis pack. also, u can shoot the baby tentacles off. also, if u don't continue then guess u'll miss the regenerating one and the leviathan!
Igp please make this into a series, I promise you that you will be thanking us all by the end of the game. There's some shit about it too that we can tell you about and hopefully get you badass gear, (only in the occurrence that you missed it due to not exploring, which you really should do every last corner) lol
Holy smokes man! I've watched people play this game a couple of times but, by far yours has been the most enjoyable! I really hope you keep going with a dead space series!
This game is still one of my favorite games of all time. It is and will always be, my favorite game series of all time. Also why are you mag dumping every enemy you see, just shoot off their limbs?
You should for sure continue IGP! It gets so much more insane as you go thru, not te mention the weapons and armor upgrade system. I might get this to replay, I loved all three games!
nah isaac didnt speak and you didnt really see his face unless you moved your camera just right at the beginning, honestly the game is better for isaac actually being involved in the story instead of just being an avatar for the player.
Ikd i just gotta say this... You are one of the few youtubers i can still watch cause they arent full of shit. Dont let the industry destroy you. Love your content man! 💝
I picked up the original game just a few months ago and I really absolutely loved it, genuinely igp we all hope you enjoy the game too! Also don't worry too much about cuts, things happen and we understand :)
The reason you're struggling and running out of ammo is because you have to shoot the limbs. Body shots don't count for much. The babies have tentacles that come out right before they attack, shoot those not the head.
I'd love to see IGP do a full playthrough of this, but goddamn watching him essentially spray and pray with that pulse rifle was hard. That and wasting so much ammo on the babies. Either way, I would love to see this continued.
Oh man that’s not fair. I just bought the game and you drop an hour long video and now I have to wait until I finish the game to watch it! Not cool bro.
You probably beat the game by now lol but the best way to play it is by only using the plasma cutter. Focus all of your nodes into that plus your rig and you'll be unstoppable. Dead Space is the most immersive with Ol' Reliable by your side 😎
