Somersby falls is inside Brisbane Waters National Park on the NSW Central Coast. To see the three sections of the Falls, it is best to park at the Somersby Falls Picnic Area car park which opens at 9am daily and is locked at 8pm during daylight savings and at 5pm all other times. There is a electric BBQ there and toilets, there are limited seats so bring your own picnic blanket. The Top section of the Falls can be accessed from the car park level, you need to just step over the small timber fence.
This section is full of rock pools and in each one there are heaps of frogs and tadpoles. You can only access this area when there are little rain about as I'm sure there would be a lot of water coming through making it dangerous when it rains.
The Middle Falls takes 15 min from the car park and about 200m hike, to get to the Bottom Falls takes 30 minutes and is a 400m hike, there are quite a few steps, uneven surfaces and certain areas that is a bit slippery. The best section to us is the bottom falls you'll see flowing streams inside a beautiful rainforrest.
We were lucky to be there when Rico Nasty an American rapper, singer, and songwriter did her photo shoot there. At the time I was not
aware of this, its only when I arrived home my son a big fan, mentioned it to me. Anyway you will see glimpses of her throughout our video. Enjoy your day.
