For me it’s not even the “I want to live” that’s gets me. It’s the “take me to the sea with you” because she only wants to live IF it’s with the Strawhat pirates
I don't think I have ever watched this scene without at least tearing up. Honestly such an incredible moment, and Robin's VA did an absolutely stunning job. Her delivery of this line grabbed hold of my heart so strong I don't think I'll ever get it out of my head
It's one of my favourite emotional moments in all media. I'm sure the long, long time to feel attached to the characters helps, but I just think there are so many layers to it, and it's so not flat that it feels really real
Everyday, I smile thinking about how a group of teenager challenged the entire world for a depressed 28 year old with tons of trauma, adopted her as their big sister and giving her the will to live again.
I'm a fully grown man and it doesn't matter how many times I see this clip, I still tear up at least a little. It just demonstrates how masterful Oda's creation and set up of their backstories was, obviously especially Robin's in this case. And clearly a lot of credit has to also go to the animators and voice actors. As a stand out moment, this and Zoro taking all of Luffy's pain from Kuma are definitely in my top 5.
I don't care how many times I've watched this scene, the goosebumps will never fade. Robin's VA is so talented and Luffy declaring that he's ready to challenge the world for her is just amazing
That "Bring It On" . . . I've only felt that level of hype when Goku went Super for the first time. I stood up. Hajime no Ippo gives me that feeling almost every episode, but still. What a fucking moment
Robin lived in loneliness all her life, she was ready to die in Alabasta until Luffy saved her. Being with the Strawhats up until Eines Lobby was probably the happiest she's ever been, and her realization that she would rather be with her newfound family. Even afterwards despite still having her stoic demeanor, you know she feels at peace within the crew, despite how goofy they can be.

never understood the upheaval about shooting the flag. They have invaded the HQ, killed tens maybe hundreds of marines. how is shooting a flag worse? And have they not been on the opposite sides anyway.
Attacking a base is just them fighting like pirates do,something thats common,and attacking that particular part of the Marines. but shooting the flag means they declared war against all of the world government. Since they were just upstart pirates before,the world government wasnt chasing them seriously,and they were mostly left to bounty hunters and some marines. but also its like a big part in the one piece story,like flags mean quite a bit to the people that fly them,thats why jolly rogers are the most important to the pirates,and such
@@NGBH what more can the government send on them. They got hunted by the marines, special forces and admiral or vice-admiral. They even encountered the warlords. There is hardly any government part that was not going against them at that point.
@@NGBH yeah and they would not act against anyone even if they burn 100 flags. Contrary to popular belief, most countries dont give a damn about you burning a flag. Only invaders do as it marks their conquest.

Robin sacrifices herself to keep them safe, She NEVER envisioned a scenario where anyone learned her past and still chose her over safety. Robin didn't think was would've been loved again.
