Never would I have thought we would or even realistically could see a new V16 engined production car drop in this day and age, and since the Cizeta Moroder V16T was to date the only V16 supercar you could buy, it seemed that cars' legacy was pretty much cemented as the only one of its kind.
Now though Bugatti came out of nowhere and blown that notion out of the water with this technologically beautiful beast - emphasis on technologically beautiful, not visually - the Tourbillon. A naturally aspirated 1000 horsepower V16 combined with 800 bhp of EV juice courtesy of 3 electric motors, gullwing doors, 276 mph top speed, 2 second 0-62 mph time, and even a very 70s concept car esque fixed hub steering wheel built to complement the theme of fine watches.
As I get into in this video, everything about the Bugatti Tourbillon individually appeals to me to no end, but something about how it comes together just doesn't quite wow me as much, particularly when its comes to its visual design, and that grille...
Regardless, its an immensely impressive machine, and one which showcases things which I'm very happy to see continuing on into 2024, most notably their first true V16 in one of these hypercars. Good on you Bugatti!

I remember that I tought Chiron looked weak when it came out. Then I saw it live in Frankfurt Motor Show, and I remember having a feeling like "If I would saw it in the rear view mirror, I would get out of its way." No picture, or video of it ever spark that feeling of… I guess fear. I’d love to see this one IRL.

Can't agree, honestly. I think the Tourbillon looks really good, better than the Chiron, honestly. I'll be honest, I didn't actually notice the grill until you pointed it out, and now I can't unsee it lol, nowhere near as bad as those BMW M Cars we saw over the last few years, and it doesn’t ruin the car for me. Nothing will ever beat the Veyron for me, a car that beat everything around without being a stripped out track car. To me, the Veyron always looked beautiful and elegant, yet it had the performance to destroy everything.

To me the Tourbillon, in terms of design, is just a Chiron that's been honed and sculpted into a more traditional hypercar rather then a complete makeover like they did when they went from Veyron to Chiron

...But that idea is wrong, because doesn't share a single piece from the Chiron and the only common point is some design cues from the exterior q¡which are clearly based on the Divo and the on-off La Voutture Noire. Different power train, no turbos, much less radiators.. it s¡doesn't even need to use the rear spoiler to reach cap speed. Just happens to have a similar oversized grill, rear difusor and stylized "C" on the side as the Divo, but again it doesn't hare a single piece with the Chiron, not even the tyres.

I honestly thought I was the only one that didn’t really like the way this car looks from certain angles. The side profile looks absolutely stunning with how low and long it looks but then the front grille looks oddly large and the rear just looks strange to me personally

all new Hyper/Super cars look terrible only one I've liked in recent years is the De Tomaso P72 . New cars have over exaggerated bulkiness to them and lost the sleek and smooth design but the P72 brings that back 👍 crazy tech in this Bugatti though 😲!

It looks like another great addition to Bugatti. Personally the front grill looks like a long nose, maybe that's why that might irk people. Interior is a step up, looks great as always. The wheel is a nice detail, gimmicky tho. Can't say anything performance wise, cuz the public hasn't seen much of it.

the car feels a lot closer to what koenigsegg has been doing, where as with the veyron i would say they were doing something closer to pagani. trying to make more of a statement piece or art for the road.

I think they go the wrong way.. Bugatti doesn't have competitor.. But now they have.. many .. because there's no different from the rest. Bugatti used branded not just fastest, but in ultimate luxury. With engine like no other.. Every manufacturer can create fast car, but luxorius and very stable is only Bugatti.. But now it's gone.. It's just fast and quite unique. And other thing. Now Mate like becoming the brand of the Bugatti itself.. not the Bugatti as a whole... Like Koeningsegg. I miss the old CEO, he was a perfect fit for the Bugatti brand..

Front grille and the low spoiler is almost the same in sice as in the Divo, which was the best looking modern Bugatti to date. and the 40 Divos were all sold weeks after the showcase of the limited series...

I think Rimac took the lead on this project, and I’m glad they’ve changed to a V16. Recently, Bugatti have gotten more commercialised, with ridiculous special variants almost matching Pagani. I agree with you, it does look quite ugly though. There seems to be a chronic trend recently of ridiculous grills, with BMW and Aston Martin. I am a bit disappointed, Bugatti have always had a clear design language and although you can see it, it seems very confused. This may be due to the Head of Design retiring, or it could be the Rimac influence. It might grow on me, but I’m unconvinced for now.

The main cues of Bugatti are the horseshoe shaped grill, the center sagital line and the "C" at the sides; this car has all of them. The only surprise to me was the absence of rims resenbling horse shoes as in the first Veyrons

It's better a V16 than going all electric like most people suggested in the beginning. Gotta be glad that Mate insisted in keeping an internal combustion engine.

@@alexandermathar7780 bro the Veyron isn't being produced for like 9 years and this is the successor of the Chiron so no more options. And since Bugatti should be something extragavant and timeless a hybrid isn't quite a option. And with their brand and a long history of W16 this is getting of the track
