I love this bag! I loved it so much I ended up getting two of them (I don't like emptying bags and refilling for different situations so each bag is configured for different cameras and lenses; and then if I do need to reconfigure, it's just a little bit of swapping). I'm a big guy (250 lbs) and it's super comfortable in sling mode. The bag basically sits on your right butt cheek. In backpack mode, it's okay but not uncomfortable. I know you already returned it but for those out there, in sling mode, you hold the bag by the left strap, you put your right arm through the left strap hole to grab the bag handle, then you liftt the left strap over your head so that the strap sits on your left shoulder. Then you slide the bag to the bag to walk. and then you slide the bag to the front to form that "top shelf" so you can attach the lens to the camera or change lenses. I will concede that they need to make it easier to switch between backpack mode and sling/topshelf mode. It is tedious to switch, and it's very easy to forget how to use it in sling mode. But your video is deceiving to people that don't know this bag. You would never have the straps like you did in this video. If you have it in backpack mode, most of the strap is tied up. And if you switch it to the sling mode, you're only doing one strap and the other strap is wrapped around the backpack. And the thing that I first struggled with was how to orient the interior to maximize storage. Luckily they give you a ton of dividers. It took me quite awhile but it's a game of tetris. Once you have the perfect layout for your equipment, you feel like a genius.
@@onlysublime Hey man! Awesome that you have two of these!! I’m glad you love them! I'm also a professional dancer so how it fits on me is very important. I'm extremely picky with what goes on my back and how it feels/fits. It’s wayyy too uncomfortable. The other important thing for me is the materials used. For such an expensive bag it’s pretty cheaply made. I don't care how it works, if it doesn't feel comfortable I'm out! So I can't recommend this bag because of this. I'm six foot, 175 ish pounds. Didn't work for me 🤷♂️
I have a black Brevite and it's also a dog hair collector, I can't stand it. I've been wanting this bag but after seeing this, I'll wait for them to make some changes. Thanks for this review. You just saved me $$$ and the frustration!
It's always disappointing and a bit awkward writing a review for a product that doesn't meet your standards and advertising hype. I appreciate your time and fair handing of this bag. Everything you stated seemed reasonable and I hope they take it into consideration as it looks like they are on the verge of a cutting edge camera bag. Thanks again for the review.
Dang, you're the only one that's made a recent review of this bag. The others are from 2-3 years ago. As you mentioned you purchased the bag from B&H I hope they make more upgrades and improvements to the bag because the website says they're "sold out" and shipping out around July. I've asked if they had any plans on making any upgrades/improvements since new ones have to be made anyway and I'm waiting on a response. I asked if the bag will come with weather proof zippers to help the bad be more weather resistant and if a bigger size will be available. I do see your point about the straps and the cheese grater material and now that you point it out, it does look very uncomfortable and doesn't look like there's a lot of padding in the straps or on the backside of the bag where your back goes. I did notice when you were in the sling mode, it did look a bit strange, have you tried doing it the opposite way? The bag is designed to be opened the other way, meaning the top of the bag should hang AWAY from you and flap down when you open the bag. You had that part towards your body which is why it felt wrong because it was lol. Also, those straps shouldn't be hanging down so much, there is a way to make them tidy and look nicer, have you taken a look at BevisGear's RU-vid channel on how to use the bag? Very useful tips and info there.
they have made subtle changes to the bag over time. I bought the bag myself when it was fairly new. And then my friend ended up getting the bag for me for a birthday gift, not knowing I already had it! I don't know if it's more "weatherproof" but the zippers did improve. It doesn't hang up as much and is a smoother glide on the newer bag.
You are literally slinging it on the wrong side. The flap is supposed to open away from you. Took me 10 seconds to notice that. I don't even own one. I'll agree it could be bad instructions. But all I needed to do was look at a couple of videos to realize this.
As mentioned in the description, the poor quality of the materials was so distracting that I didn't want to waste my time. The focus was only on one point, skipping/missing everything else. But… I did figure it out and tired to use it on a shoot. NOPE. I will not recommend this bag. You should get one and enjoy!!
