One of their drummers, Jaimo, was african american. One time while touring the south, a restaurant refused to serve Jaimo. The band told the restaurant, "then you don't serve us either." The band and road crew of about 20 people, got up and left. Eventually, businesses got the message. Their money was the right color, Green!

@Kilgore_Trout_jr 3 месяца назад
Eventually businesses got the message? They sure did, being a racist was pushed back into people’s closets, where it belongs. Other than that they remained racist. America remains a racist country. A lot of white peoples have a struggle with shame, one that has not been fully overcome today.

Yep. Many people associate southern rock as being racist. Not the case at all. They were just southern hippies who wanted to spread happiness through music. I guess because southern is attached to the word rock. Jaimo is one of the best drummers out there as well.

Somewhat relevant I hope. There is a RU-vid series about a guy restoring a derelict chateau in northern France. At one point he talks about the history of the place and how a small group of Jewish kids escaped from Germany in the 1930s and stayed there pending a move to the USA. In the USA one of the kids got fed up being harassed because of his accent and his name. He wanted to be more American. He got a phone book and picked a new name: Bill Graham. Yeah, that Bill Graham. He of the Fillmore East.

Jesus said the majority would be resurrected ACTS 24:15 JOHN 5:28, 29 Ecclesiastes tells us "The Dead know nothing at all." That is because they are sleeping in the grave until that Resurrection in the near future. Psalm 37:9~11,22,29,34🎉❤🎉 The truth of the Bible is a much better concept than the misconceptions of Christendom,.. I really like this channel. How do you spend a couple years now that I’ve been listening to your take on music that I consider the best in the world. Sometimes I wonder if my memory is poor and then like tonight I read the title and I immediately knew the song & it started playing in my head. Not so decrepit after all at 277 years old😂!

Of the many times I've seen them, their best show started the night of 12/31/75, in Lakeland FL. There were 2 full stage sets that swiveled. The Outlaws opened, the stage was swung out of the way. Then the Allman Brothers played on their stage until Midnight 1/1/76. They took a long break, and during that time, 80% of the crowd left. A few people started moving closer. After 15min Greg Allman came out and apologized for the delay, saying that they were working on something special for the stage. And added, looking at the sparce crowd, " I don't know about you guys, but we're not going anywhere!" "So why don't you all come down here and we'll have a great show." Gf & I were dead center all the way back 5 rows from the top. Greg called us out I raised my hand and he said come on down. We were at our 5th show and were going to watch from afar. I looked at our seats and went 🤷‍♂️ - he said oh I get it you are comfortable. When they drew the curtain, they had moved both stages side by side. Both band's came out plus a guest, the man who taught Dicky Bett's how to play. So there were 8 guitars, 3 drum sets, Gregg on keyboard. They played each other's songs until 4 am when the venue had to kick them out.

I was so happy when I saw you were going to react to Jessica. My favorite Allman Brothers song. It’s just a happy song that always lifts my spirits. Thanks for brightening my day, Polo!

Loved your reaction and certainly appreciate you took the time to pay respects to one of the finest guitarists to ever play. His style was second to none and was always so melodic and peaceful (for the most part). College ‘74 is when I really started listening! This song particularly was a get up in the morning, get a cup of copy and listen to this album to put mind mind in a mellow happy mood! Keep listing to the Allman Brothers Band!

For me this song was growing up in the south, being young and having a great time in the summer. Just hanging out, doing things with your friends or just laying out by the lake. No TV, no internet, no social media. Just being young, free and warm enough to sweat. Alive.

Saw these guys every year at the Beacon theatre in NYC. They would play a week straight. By the way my wife picked this song as our entrance as a new married couple.
