Part of the Test & Go deal to enter Thailand is to "quarantine" at a SHA++ Hotel until you get your initial PCR test results, regardless if you're COVID positive or negative. As a Chinatown Enthusiast, I opted for the Shanghai Mansion in the heart of Yaowarat, Bangkok's Chinatown. The hotel offered arrangements for the initial PCR test, and also transfer from the hotel, which made everything super convenient. The interior decoration was also extremely satisfying for someone who is super enthusiastic about Chinese themes.

Love the decor. Nice interior design. Notice a lot of collection of antiques. Love the choose of colors. Red for good fortune, yellow for gold or wealth. Very standard Chinese colors. Surprisingly clean. From the outside at street level you wouldn’t think of this hotel to be so nice.🤙Doesn’t seem too busy, not to many guests hanging around. Take Care and enjoy your trip.

Hey Jack, many thanks for your vids. We are travelling to Bangkok beginning October and will have six days in the city before starting our tour of Thailand, Cambodia and Viet Nam. Any suggestions for our beginning time? As well, great news that effective July 1 the Covid tests etc are removed.

What type of traveling are you looking for? (Leisure, crazy parties, culture, nature, etc) Also, are you only staying in Bangkok during your stay in Thailand? I guess my advices without knowing more details is to understand a bit more about their behavior/society. For example, Thai people are generally super chill (the Sabai culture) but if you're in a touristy spot some might try to rip you off. If you need to get around, their public transportation is alright for the most part, but you can always use the Grab app (similar to Uber, and you can also order food from Grab too). Grab is usually a bit more pricey than Taxis, but at least they're transparent (if you're taking a taxi they mighhhhhhhht rip you off if you're a foreigner, etc). Overall Thai folks are super nice, and just enjoy the uniqueness of Southeast Asia. Also it's super hot and humid lol but yeah let me know if you have something more specific or other questions!
