I still find it hilarious that literally 40 minutes after seeing this video, I went into Goodwill and found a copy of this game sitting with the music CD's. I got excited and bought it, i'm hoping to give it a try sometime soon.

I loved this game as a kid. The soundtrack was dope. I remember the music in the cave was so SCARY it made it that much harder to complete the puzzles. The game was too hard for me at that age, and I didn't get very far in it, but the soundtrack still holds a place in my heart.

it's great to see somebody being honest about a project they were in. People tend to get defensive about things they like but didn't actually create...this, however, was a very honest assessment and it's much appreciated! It's also great to see stories from Washington, especially Eastern Washington. I mean, Myst was done over here as well but that not often mentioned. It was cool to see some inland northwestern landscape in there. Great video!!

I was 13 when I first got into Shivers. I did wait for years for there to be a third game.

I loved it when games would just employ friends and family for voices and photos. Also, Arizona looks a lot like Eastern Washington (where I'm assuming those videos were shot at)

What I loved about this video is that it's not only a game play video. It contains behind the scenes info as well as a retrospective on gaming back in the day and a bit of historical context. Please do more!

I still throw on the soundtrack to this every now and then (usually when "Was I Even There" randomly gets stuck in my head, lol... I still say that song could have been a hit if it had a traditional release). Criminally underrated game. For all the goofiness, the atmosphere is uniquely excellent.

The Shivers games were a big part of my childhood. I remember my entire family would watch my mom play them when I was 5-7 years old. Both games were great, but the first game was a lot scarier and held up a bit better. I did love the soundtrack to 2 though, and the songs are still stuck in my head 20 years later.

This was one of my favorite games in the day, even with the weird action/puzzle thing. I still listen to the graveyard song once in a while.

Great review and background stories. I loved the first game and its puzzles so I was super excited when I got this game. I always liked the colorful but creepy graphics and puzzles of the Shivers games. Besides from the neat in game music, I actually liked the songs in this one too. Bad or not, they were a part of this experience and I still remember fond memories of the time when I hear the songs. As I always say; It's amazing how at one point in time I'm playing one of my favorite games and years later here I am typing a comment on the channel of one of the characters from the same game. This was a great trip down the memory lane.

Shivers 1 & 2 are two of my favorite PC games. I love the atmosphere and setting of Shivers 2, and I have a soft spot for the soundtrack. Really cool that you were in it!

I just found this randomly as I wanted to put the Shivers 2 music on. Seriously, as a kid I loved those songs as well as the games. I still listen to them every now and again as I play the game probably every two years as it has so much sentimental value for me. When it came out I put my heart and soul into solving those puzzles. Anyway, so cool you know you were in it!

I grew up with Sierra adventure games. Shivers 1 and 2 were some of my favorites. Shivers 2 wasn't as good, but still pretty memorable. That's awesome that you worked for Sierra and got to be apart of this underrated classic.

Shivers was one of my favorite PC games back in the day. Finally got my hand on a copy recently and still loved it. I remember getting a copy of Shivers 2 when it came out but I don't think I got very far. It's really cool to see someone that got to work on the game play through it.

Just bought this on a flee market in Bulgaria, total madness to see you in the game.

The first time my father introduced me to his PC gaming room... I remember seeing a lot of boxed pc games and remember clearly seeing shivers (2)... Just the box art has always been printed in my childhoods mind until this day. Thank you for the background info MJR! Subconsciously I already set my first step into the realm of PC gaming....

I only played this game once, but I would listen to the soundtrack at work to get clues to the puzzles. I still listen to the songs sometimes. I wanted to look up Trip Cyclone to see how many other people enjoyed this soundtrack. This was far more than I was expecting to find! Very cool, thanks for sharing!

I'm loving the insight! I was 13 when this game came out and, though I never owned it, there was a demo/trailer thing on some other game I had. It was just some screen stills and a minute or two of "Was I Even There". I was completely obsessed with the song even though I never got to hear the whole thing until recently when my brain randomly conjured up the memory. I have to credit Sierra games as a huge influence on my obsession with PCs and my career in IT. Looking forward to going through your other content.

I remember me and my parents were playing this game in 1999. I was a 9 year old one, was living in Russia (i am Russian). I remember how bizarre and weird that game was from very first sight…i fell in love of course. The localisation was kinda ok, definitely not perfect, especially with references to American culture…we were so confused while playing the game, my parents couldn’t solve the puzzles, i was the one who could, still proud of myself 😅😊. But i want to tell you something. This game became a kind of influence to me on a subconscious level, because when i lost the cd of this game(it was rented, i dont know why it was like this) and the memory about this mysterious game stuck in my mind. Now i am 33, living in US, CT, found your video, seeing you from this game saying insights and little details about this game i finally realised what was the part of me i was missing long time ago. Thank you for the game and for the influence, i know you were a part, now i feel a part of it too.

So cool! I love all of the old Sierra games and I will agree that this one is missing the humor and personality of the other “quest” series’ but there is still a charm and allure here. I’d love to see more.

I loved this game back in the day! In 97 I was fifteen, and I'd walk to the kmart and browse their tiny game section. Saw this game and wanted it immediately. So I saved up for it, took me a few weeks. I must have played it a million times. That and Titanic Adventure Out Of Time were my favorite pc games. So cool to see one of the cast members all these years later!

This is crazy!! Way back in 1998 my Grandma found this game at Costco and bought it for me. I was obsessed with it. I knew the game like the back of my hand. I named my cat Darkcloud and to this day love the song "Was I even there?". So strange that 20 years later I would subscribe to your channel and find out you were a member of the band!

21:00 - I haven't played Shivers Two, but this is one of the things I love about the first Shivers. You find a lot of the kids' stuff and the museum owner's stuff while exploring the museum that you don't have to look at, but I love looking at it all. It makes the characters feel more realistic.

I played the game as A KID and my sister and I still talk about it as the most frightening thing we've ever seen. That scene with the eyes behind the painting or when Max chases us with a chainsaw... Thank you for being a part of it and sharing it now!
