I had some basics in place, but honestly, the layoff was the real push I needed. I had to make it work, so I focused on building client relationships and scaling up. The biggest thing was realizing I couldn’t rely on one source of income.
I’d heard about Aaron Morgan Bell through a friend who also started his own business. Aaron really helped me set up a financial plan that covered both my personal finances and my business growth. It made a world of difference.
My friend quit his $100k a year construction job to open a seafood carry out...After 1.5 year, he's about $300k in debt despite working 6 days a week open to close and cant even sell his business for $50k now. There's a reason why small business have like 75% fail rate. For every "Make it" story there's 200 that didn't.
I have to say this is one of my favorites that you guys have done in a long time. You can really see this guy is passionate about what he does. Not to mention, who doesn't love food. I've been considering moving back to Chicago from NYC and wouldn't it be awesome to have Ultimate Food Tours there. Kind of inspiring.
He is really in his element! Obviously loves foods and history, but his customer service and business acumen also seems very natural and seamless. Love it!
Great switch. However please note he’s working 80 hrs/week. So the 147k+ /year is more comparable to 74k+ if working a regular 40hr week. Regardless he loves his job, kudos!
add in EXPENSES to your calculations, he is GROSSING 147k, and has to pay for the food at the restaurants they eat at, so 30-40% in food expenses would be reasonable to assume.
@@theboringchannel2027 that I am not sure. Does it say it’s gross or net ? I heard him say at the end that he takes 40k as his salary and invests the rest back in the business
@@theboringchannel2027 30-40% net profit pre tax,is still a terrible salary and its actually below miniwage if factoring overtime paid ( everything above 40h is 1.5x - 2x salary). He can make more working at mc donarld.
I am fortunate I made decisions that changed my finances for the better (acquired over 1M in 2years) through my financiaI planner. Got my 2nd house in July and hoping to retire nxt yr.
Recognized him and his side hustle from an article a few months ago. Amazed to learn more about his passion and success in this video. So interesting 😄 Congrats to him 🎉
*Amazing video, you work for 40yrs you have $1m in your retirement, meanwhile some people are putting just $10k into trading from just few months aga and now they are multimillionaires*
You don't have to be surprised, That's exactly her name( Alvarez Harry) so many people have recommended highly about him I'm huge beneficiary of his platform from Brisbane Australia 🇦🇺
I'm from Alberta Canada I use to take loan from my bank for survival but after I came in contact with him I'm Now a credit not a debtor anymore bought my first car last month
*Your explanations are clear and straight forward It's always a honor to have you here as a mentor, I appreciate you for the time being spent to educate us financially. Regardless of how bad it gets the economy, I still makeover $28K every single week. I truly value Laura, and her helpful guides.*
The first step to successful investment is figuring your goals and risk tolerance either on your own or with the help of a financial professional but it's very advisable you make use of professional.
I know Laura, she has really set the standard for others to follow, we love her here in the UK as she has been really helpful and changed lots of lives.
As a NY lover and foodie, I had to support. Big to you brother for finding your purpose. Balance your diet 😅 Your merch is dope. I’m excited to get my tshirt and tour with y’all in the near futur🥰😎🔥 Update: Got my tshirt whoop whoop!! 🔥 it fits perfectly, 100% soft cotton mens cut and falls nicely on the waist. The graphic is fun, detailed, vibrant and smooth. Cop yours 💯
I am so proud of this guy! He seems to truly love what he does and I hope he has more success in the future. I hope to take his tour on my next trip in NYC.
A gluten free version of the tour would be amazing! He will double maybe triple his profit within a year because he has that hustle spirit. Lead with respect and you will earn respect. Good on him and continue to reach for the sky!
The description acknowledges that this is a full time business, so why the headline refers to his business as a side hustle? Stop with the degenerate sensationalistic headlines please.
@@wahoo4uva The headline mentions how much he earned in May23-May24, right? This period is not when he had a "side hustle", simple logic really. How about calling Google a startup because it started as one? "From side-hustle to 147K a year", or something similar, would be more fitting and accurate.
You are incorrect. It said "now", because it was a side hustle. It said nothing of it still being a side hustle; what was a side hustle is now bringing in 145k. I understood what it meant as soon as I read it. Some people are just not as bright and like to complain when every little thing isn't suited to their liking.
I have so much respect for food tours & companies that run food tours - I did a food tour in Barcelona & another one in Bangkok a couple of months ago and both were excellent! Its the best way of meeting people in foreign cities!
Awesome idea! Very authentic experience, this is how tourism has to look like related to food, not going to the McDonald's in every country, all the same...

The wisest thing that should be on everyone mind currently should be to invest in different streams of income that doesn't depend on government paycheck, especially with the current economic crisis around the world. This is still a time to invest in Stocks, Forex and Digital currencies.
People dismiss the importance of advisors until they are burned by their own emotions. I remember a couple of summers ago, following my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to assist my business stay alive, so I looked for qualified consultants and came across someone with the highest qualifications. He has helped me raise my reserve from $275k to $850k, despite inflation.

@@ultimatefoodtours Indeed, I ironically worked at meta too, loved the free food -- probably drank something like $40 worth of startbucks fraps a day 😆
On the plus (if u can call it that)… he barely has time to be in the apartment since he’s working 80hr weeks so 16 hr days if only working weekdays or almost 12 hour days if working all 7 days… so he needs the apt only for sleeping And if you watched till the end, that’s how much the business makes. He’s only paying himself 40k/year and reinvesting the rest back in the business. Not sure how he’s living. They didn’t show his budget which was disappointing
@@garyish 147k is his GROSS, not his net profit, he pays for the food at the restaurants, his promotion expenses, cc fees, web hosting, etc. Likely making less than 50k a year.
The key thing is to be in a culinary capital with a large tourism base. I have a poet friend in LA, who has become a local minor celebrity doing tours (he also hosts poetry slams). And I've noticed, just this year, in my travels to countries as disparate as Vietnam and Mexico that there is a thriving business for tours--especially food tours. Those Vietnamese can make 40 bucks a person for 2-3 hours of work. Doesn't sound like a lot but, with groups, it means that they're easily making 10 times what a working class Vietnamese or Mexican can bring in.
*If you are not in the financial market space right now, you are making a huge mistake. I understand that it could be due to ignorance, but if you want to make your money work for you...prevent inflation*
Interesting, This is superb! Information, as a noob it gets quite difficult to handle all of this and staying informed is a major cause, how do you go about this are you a pro Investor?
I feel Investors should exercise caution with their exposure and.exercise caution when considering new investments, particularly during periods of inflation. It is advisable to seek guidance from a professional or a licensed expert in order to navigate this recession and achieve potential high yields
Prioritizing effective personal finance management holds greater significance than the sheer amount saved, irrespective of income source. Consulting a certified financial advisor can offer tailored strategies to optimize financial results by reducing expenses and enhancing income, regardless of whether it's earned through employment or investments.
Brian Humphery Services was my hope during the 'bear summer' last year. I made so many mistakes but also learned so much from it, and of course from Brian.
Pretty powerful to be going for a cushy job at Meta with all the perks and benefits they get while working there, and even with losing the primary source of income he could scale this little hobby of his up to be a full-fledged business and make it it that same kind of Meta money. The net plus is that he's doing something he loves more since he started it even without money as a passion project like they all typically do and here he is. Although he can't really replace himself in this business, I'm sure he loves it so much that he'll keep going until the day he dies, and that right there is something we should all aspire for since we must work to survive, not thrive.
To clarify, it's $145K REVENUE, not profit. He says he pays himself $40K a year, definitely not Meta money, and he states that he works 80 hrs per week - let that sink in. Wish him the best of luck but people should be more discerning while watching these types of videos. Some of them are a bit misleading, especially in the titles.
@@ek6007 oh I'm very aware that's it's revenue. You don't work at Meta however for a while and not save up quite a bit and invest elsewhere. He's fine where he's at in NY.

how come non of the tour guides stole his business idea coz he was a full time employee and any one of them could have made this a full time profession? can any one explain...
Sign me up for a food tour anytime! On a serious note, like how he has connected the dots between food, experiences and small businesses. Consider setting this up in India in partnership with local businesses - lots of diverse food across the country.
I haven't seen this video, just commenting. But anyone worth their weight in tech can make double this with their eyes closed. The thumb nail shows him smiling, but I'd be crying if I took a 100k pay cut
When I learned he isnt doing it all, I realized he really isnt making much at all, but he does seem to really enjoy it and fits a niche people are willing to pay for.

he is not getting paid by the restuarants, as most are well known on social media and do not need to pay for customers. plus he is paying for the food, not the people on the tour.
