I guess I'm poor too. However I don't feel poor. I have my children , grandchildren, friends . I have a home , food , my boy dogs , I have a wonderful in law suite off my sons home. It's great as big as a small ranch home. My health is good. I have to now walk with a walker or cane. But I take care of my home I cook by scratch, I have a car to drive . And I ho to the stores. Out with friends and family. I may not have a ton of money , but I'm rich in all parts of my life. Money doesn't make you happy or riich. How you live your life with people you love and you have your needs meant , that's what makes you rich

Clutter sends me to the moon. I keep getting rid of stuff I don’t love. Everyone’s brain is different. My brain can’t have a lot of stuff around. Your yard and garden are beautiful. I love them. I love the small triangular shaped trees with the mulch around them. I want to get some like them.

Hi Tessie- I thought I had a handle on clutter until 2020. Then I started stocking up, no knowing where we were going with the pandemic shortages and prices. Now I have to weed through what I have acquired, canning jars, dry pantry items and more. Its all good, just needs a good fall cleaning and sorting. I like having a measure of food security in these times. My passions took a back seat, but now its time to address them. Not easy to do when you are in survival mode...

Tessie your ambitions are certainly not low. You don't realize how much you have accomplished. Most people don't have the strength and patience you have and have had. Most people take the easy way out of things rather than be patient and strive forward like you have. You have had to overcome some pretty hard situations and not let it knock you down. You and Ken striving to make your home a respite and oasis for the two of you. These topics are not talked about on you-tube and people need to hear peoples experiences. We learn about things in history but because it has been so long ago and we are so use to living in our world today people really can't relate and no one wants to share their struggles. I wish that 40 years ago I would have had the determination and strength to look at things as you have helped me with now. Your channel shows so much faith in God and the patience you've shared in making your own life the way you wanted it and not letting worldly opinions dictate your way of living. You are unique my dear friend and I mean this in the most complimentary way. You truly are a woman of God.

I looked for Lemon Verbena this year and could only find Lemon Balm. I harvested the Lemon Balm. You will have nice herbal tea this Winter. You have a nice place. It is what God meant for you to have. It is good that you feel blessed by his gift to you and your husband. I saw the bird, thank you.

Yep, you creating your best place inspired me to do the same. I now have an apartment that looks like a little cottage. I really enjoy it now and I remeber seeing it and saying, Id like to live there but somebody else was living here. Then they offered it to us as it was moved out of. So you helped me do that Tessie. You are incredibly rich in all that is lasting and true, Tessie. This was such a relaxing video-from the organizing (which Is something I love to do) to the harvesting of herbs to seeing your gorgeous property. Despite today's impending rain, I was glad to be able to spend time in the garden harvesting and clearing out plants that have finished producing. I took my time instead of rushing (slow living is something I'm still working on) and enjoyed being amongst the plants, smelling the herbs, like you'd said, and taking time to breathe. We need to be curators of peace in our lives, and you are a beautiful example of that. Have a blessed evening. ❤

I find everything needs to be re-organized periodically. I just went through my freezer yesterday and had to toss some things. The refrigerator I go through every week. My pantry definitely needs to be gone through as do my kitchen cabinets. I suppose if you do everything perfectly in the moment it’s different. My mom was the neatest most organized person I have ever known but unfortunately her daughter is not the same😂

Food is prepped and candles, flashlight have new batteries and the oil lamps and campstove are all ready if needed. I have twelve gallons and 2 cases of bottled water and plenty of kitty food. I am envious of your grass😂 Sounds silly, but I live in Central TX. 1st- I have very little grass & a whole lot of Clover Bur, Hitch Hiker Bur & Stinging Grass. 2nd- all of it is dead by end of June! Grass envy is real😂

Define poor/ define rich. Husband is disabled Veteran...he never made a LOT of $$ but we did well. RAised three boys, helped with 5 grandbabies when they were littles. Managed to be debt free, including mortgage at 49 (goal was 50)..Grow a big enough garden to feed us, our ducks and chickens all summer, and can a lot for winter. I feel we are wealthy beyond belief. We will never lack for food, We have a beautiful piece of property, and a few rentals... For me, organizing is stress relief...If I thought people would pay for it, I would start a business organizing peoples kitchens.

Tessie~ you are evidently talking to me!!!!! Thank you. OMG. Thank you for your wonderful words. I needed to hear everything you said!!!!! I have gone through so much in the last 3 years. Not my own problems but taking in a son that is hooked on a drug and has lost everything. My life changed 3 years ago~drastically. He is my child but there are times I feel so despondent and hopeless. I thank you so much for your words of hope and you know just reality. I know I’m not the only mom that has to deal with issues that are not even ours. Well, It’s cool here 62 lol that’s cool for Louisiana right now ha ha! I always look for the silver lining in all things. God is good snd so are you!!!😌

Wow! Your garden is really dwindeling down, getting ready for the "winter sleep"! Ever thought about growing "tree" collards? Do you like collards greens? My home is cluttered, but I know where everything is. It is kind of like wearing a sweater all year long...sometimes warm and cozy... sometimes a little hot and sticky....most times just comfortable! One goal I had was to learn how to propagate roses. Now I have many beautiful fragrant tea roses in front of the house and surrounding a bird bath on the front lawn. My daily visits to my rose garden bring me much satisfaction and joy. Because i grew them from cuttings i consider them my little children. I care about them and they respond to my love by joyfully putting out a fragrant perfumed rose for me.🌹 I am going to buy a bench and small table so I can sit out there with a friend and enjoy tea and watch the birds in the bird bath.🐦

Yes you are truly rich - getting to go outside work in your yard and enjoy nature the beautiful sky, that is a true blessing. Then go in work in your house make home cooked meals and feel good when you put it on the table. At night sit back and think of all that you have accomplished. 😊
