It definitely caused my hair to come out so I stopped using it 😭 It's for damaged hair and at that time my hair was weak and damaged so I tired Olaplex and wasn't good for me. You have long thick hair sis, keep flourishing 🤗

Thanks for sharing. I bought the whole line of Olaplex and have used it once. Amazing!!! I came here to see if I could use it immediately after relaxer. I see that some do and have great results. I appreciate your experience of using it one week out.

I do like Olaplex! Keep it in my products but don't use it very often. I like no 4 (shampoo) and number 5 (conditioner)...I get multiple uses out of each so the price winds up working out. Shampoo lasted me over a yr using it once a month. Conditioner lasted...about 5 washdays? No 3 was nice as well. It's bond strengthening does do well on my hair (kinky, not damaged or colored). Cool that you tried it!

sis, one year of use is super👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽! thanks for sharing your experience with it. if it truly does do what it says I think it’s worth using once in a while for maintenance

Olaplex is not meant to be used on already healthy hair, so it's good that you focused on your ends where damage is more likely to be. I do not believe just rinsing out no. 3 is enough however, I STRONGLY recommend shampooing it out. (You can opt for a very gentle, moisturising cleanser) It does make the hair feel nice, that's for sure! I do believe it saved my hair a few years ago, and I continue to use it to maintain my highlights. (I like 3, 4, and the purple shampoo. I do not like the conditioner, and the mask, while lovely, made my hair almost too soft.) The scent has changed. It used to smell more citrus, but the lawsuits and new laws in the EU made them reformulate a bit.

Thanks for the tips. Wouldn’t you assume everyone’s hair has some level of damage even just from wear and tear? I think damage can be relative unless it’s as obvious as color or heat splits etc. glad it’s worked for you though…
@esthertjones
@esthertjones 10 месяцев назад
@@CoilyDiaries IMO, yes and no. Yes wear and tear can produce some level of damage, but to the extent that olaplex fixes, no, you can't get that just through careful, gentle handling of your hair. You have to heat or bleach damage to cause the excessive weathering that needs bond repair. That's what I've observed after cutting off a lot of damaged bits anyway.

@@esthertjones make sense 👍🏽 but I still think it would be beneficial to most of us. I say this because things like chlorine for example can mess with the bonds too am sure we have all had a deep at some point 😅

Wow sis your hair is getting longer and longer each video, I know I said that before, but girl the proof is in the pudding--it looks so healthy! I’m glad you tried olaplex because I always wanted to know how it worked.😊 ❤

Do you ever blow dry your hair to check length. I enjoy watching you.
@CoilyDiaries
@CoilyDiaries 10 месяцев назад
heat gives me split ends and drys my hair out so I have no plans to blow it out in the near future. especially not just for a length check🫣. maybe for a trim or a protective style
@Gladiator_in_a_Suit
@Gladiator_in_a_Suit 10 месяцев назад
Fun fact: you don’t need to use heat to do a simple length check, African threading does the same thing leave it in for a week and take it down and you’ll have a nice blow out without using heat. I recommend using bees wax or grease before African threading to make sure the stretch is a complete stretch, but always apply water and moisturizing creams before the waxes and grease so the hair is well moisturized and sealed 😊

I am not surprised it smells like chemicals. I think aloe and jojoba oil is the only plant-based ingredients, last i checked. It worked great for me too, but I stopped for cleaner ingredients.

Hi! What are you using now?
@ThePookie25
@ThePookie25 10 месяцев назад
@tannsmithp for bond repair I use curl Smith rehab salve. It has more natural ingredients than olaplex. But I use innersense conditioner as a deep conditioner and it keeps my hair healthy enough to where I really don't need to use any bond repair.
