Glasgow - most friendly city in the UK if you're not a southern toff or a Tory. This is why we love the Scots. That and the accent obviously. And I don't say Scottish people resemble their national dish. One of my favourite things in the world was seeing that BBC news blooper introducing Nicola Sturgeon, but they showed the wrong picture of a gorrilla under a tree putting something into its mouth.

Dyed in the wool Welshman here... see what I did there? When I was in the RN I was based in Faslane for 5 years. Groups of us serving at the base, including some Glaswegian lads serving with us, would catch the train to Glasgow on Friday night for a night on the town. Glasgow had a fearsome reputation back then in the mid 60s to early 70s and yet we never had any trouble. In fact the locals were very friendly people and were also really funny. Just about every Glaswegian I served alongside was a born comedian and when it came to biting but amusing irony and sarcasm they beat the rest of us hands down .

I agree, not many people would be comfortable to go on radio.

Disappointed, im obviously of the older generation, but first few days were gud then a day or of Americans eating, then 1 of an interview? Not a vlog, more like a self love thing?? If I was wrong then will would not be the invisible camera man he deserves much more credit!

My sister moved up to Lanark from Kent a few years ago and has said that some of the worst people she has ever met are the Scots but conversely also some of the nicest...I believe that a lot of Scots don't like Americans because of Trump, he bought up a lot of land for his golf course and made his usual false promises to the local people about helping the economy and was very underhand towards those who didn't want to move from the area...so I think the Scots feelings are more political than personal..beautiful country scenic side though..😊

It's never difficult to distinguish between a Scotsman and a ray of sunshine. Wha's like us eh?

I'll second that mate, slightly ashamed that these boys had a bad experience with people.

Let's not forget that these young guys were probably out talking to people their own age, drunk. The scottish guy that told them this, was probably a 19 yo student taking the piss out of them, to freak them out. You live and learn.

The presenter liked the sound of his own voice too much, constantly interrupting Joel as he was talking. Why have a guest on and do that?

Absolutely my sentiments, too. He looks how he sounds and the interrupting was definitely out of order. Extremely amateur job.😏

@@alansmithee8831 just to be clear mate i have absolutely nothing against yorkshire folk just the dj on joel's video, i'm sure he's a nice guy but he came across as too full of himself and not really interested in joel and i thought he was trying to embarrass and belittle joel or at least that's how it appeared . btw i am actually a quarter yorkshire myself, my gran was from wakefield.

I appreciate Joel may get it but some people from the US may not and yes I have had experience of this, so I went with mom. Best Wishes.

Of course it matters! I’d appreciate you using mam for e.g. cos, although local lingo from up north, it’s still British. Remember and maintain your own nationality, is what I’m saying. Don’t worry if some Americans don’t get it. That would be their problem. Too thick to not get “mum” is our spelling of the word. I’d seriously pity their intelligence. No, I’m annoyed how many brits are becoming Americanised now. Ending statements in question marks, starting everything they say with “so…” It’s like they’re forgetting their own nationality. USA too big an influence on the world I reckon. I’ve even seen some brits spelling words like flavour, colour without the U, like American English. Too right. It saddens me this lad has such a poor opinion on the Scots due to a bad experience with a few people he met, who by the sound of his description are your typical SNP rent-a-mob type, and not a true reflection on most. Sadly he can only go on his experience and the fact he's mentioned on several of his videos that we are "standoffish" and not so nice as others in the UK indicates he's been quite affected by it and unlikely to revisit in the future. So sad, but I hope he'll reconsider one day and agree you can't judge a whole country on meeting just a few.

@@foreverblueclassics - Just a little, but I think being in a Radio Studio, in front of a mic and not knowing what was going to be asked must have been daunting!? Bear in mind the bits he HAS shown, all had records played between small snippets of conversation. Although the parts he's edited out made me cringe... E.G. "the Scottish people are not friendly..." - The presenter, Wayne realised he had made some 'rash' comments so tried to 'smooth' them over - maybe Yorkshire radio reaches the boarders ? LOL !

@@rebeccat94 When you think about it us travelling around Europe would be equivalent to him travelling the states. That country is so big him travelling across two or three states would be like us going to like Italy or Greece. So coming to the UK is a pretty far distance for the young lad
