Wait..did you say $200?!? 😮 I feel like I must've heard that wrong. Guess I'll have to just do the sensible "frugal" things to stay cool. You know, like wet towel, ice water, umbrella etc. Way too extravagant for my budget.
Well, we use damp cold towels or clothes, wrapped around our neck or at our wrists to cool down our blood. Works very good, very silently and doesn't dry out the eyes and nostrils, which all fans tend to do. Also, when the weather gets really hot in summer, we would air hang wet sheets inside the house (a house that is kept as cool as possible by letting cool night's air inside and then, in the early morning blocking sun rayes and warm air from getting inside the house by closed curtains or blinds). This additionally cools down the air. Works completely without electricity. 😅
Hi prepper princess so glad you are able to stay cool in the summer time heat. That is a great cool neckwear. I tried the cool towel from the 99 cent store it doesn’t work. It only cools temporarily. Stay well and safe 👍🤗
Here in the desert Southwest where the humidity is very low, I just soak my light-colored, cotton t-shirt with some bottled water, wring out the excess and put on the shirt. As the water evaporates, there is a cooling effect. I can refill the water bottle for free at any public drinking fountain or restroom. This is a very low-cost and low-tech way of staying cooler when outdoors in the summer heat of an arid climate. No batteries or recharging required. And a cheap thrift shop or garage sale, cotton t-shirt will work just as well as a new expensive one. A slightly more expensive way for staying cooler in the desert is to acquire one of those neck scarves that is filled with jell beads that soak up water. Just soak the scarf in cool water long enough for the beads to swell then tie the scarf loosely around your neck. The scarf will have a cooling effect as the water evaporates. Please note, these simple evaporative cooling techniques only work well in arid climates and WILL NOT work well when the humidity is high such as summer weather in Georgia or Mississippi. For that you will need air conditioning in your vehicle, home or place of business. I also stay cooler in the desert by wearing loose-fitting, long-sleeved, light-colored cotton (or a synthetic, sweating wicking) fabric shirts and long pants, instead of shorts and tank tops, to help shade the body from direct sunlight. I also wear broad brimmed hats to protect my face and neck. If I have to wait outdoors for more than a few minutes, I find a shady place to wait. The point is to shade the skin to reduce exposure to heat and UV light instead of broiling in the full sun and hoping sunscreen lotion will be effective. I even wear a loose, long sleeved, white shirt that is supposed to be 40 SPF UV blocking during cooler winter months if I am going to be outside for more than an hour in full sun.
For a neck cooler, DIY simple form ... I like to take microfiber towels (for the length), quadruple fold them lengthwise, get them wet, and put them in the freezer. Swap out for a new one as needed. If you are a sewer, you can create a pocket to hold six ice cubes in the middle, that is nice, too.
Buying something from Temu doesn't mean you get it. They have many complaints from customers who never got their orders. Also, if you trust Temu quality, my prayers for you.
Have you got insulation in your floor and ceiling? It makes your house so much cooler in summer and keeps the heat in in winter. Essential before doing any other cosmetic renovations to your house.
I would review it too to get one. It is rather pricey. Depends on what you want to do, an if it will last a long time, to feel you got your moneys worth using it in summer an winter.
I thought they stopped making these things when Sharper Image went out of business. Is this one the same as the Sharper Image ones, because I could swear I remember those things being bigger. I thought the Sharper Image ones had something in it besides just a fan, to cool you off, like something that actually makes it like an air conditioner, like the coolant chemicals or something.
Key ingredient is most likely a peltier heat pump. Neat tech. Apply electricity and it moves heat from one side to the other. You can also generate electricity with them by applying a temperature differential. Kewl product, good review, ty.
I have to say there are Few RU-vid's that I stick with once I find them.I definitely stick with you because you were so pleasant and And come across As a very friendly person . and You are honest and straight forward. Somehow you took with basically a commercial. Somehow you took what is basically a commercial and a review for this product and made it so enjoyable period
I am constantly given the option of “integration” videos where I interrupt my regular videos to promote a product. I prefer keeping it separate to give people a choice as to whether or not they want to watch a promotion
I don’t know about this contraption. When I go hiking, I don’t want some electric device attached to me. I got my compass. And the GPS if I don’t know the area. And for. 229$ I would rather buy a new backpack or hiking boots
Excellent option for prepping too, so long as it can be charged. Power goes out? Got a way too cool off or added way to warm up. Stuck in a hot or freezing car? Got a way to cool off or warm up. Others cry that this is a paid review. So the eff what? The price tag may be prohibitive for many, but for others it may be worthwhile. If it works and lasts, then long term use will cover upfront cost. Not everyone has the same budget, not everyone is living the exact same way. Neat that is hat heat option for all year use, especially if dealing with cold mornings and hot days. Not for you, then pass on by. Interested? check it out, or look into other options. I use a similar gadget which I have a few of. Fan/cooling only, no heat, so price is fraction. I RELY on it for the hot humid summer, particularly when I am working OUTSIDE doing labor work. Different than a typical rotating fan blade, it pushes air around face making all the difference in comfort. I value it highly. I also happen to have a heated vest. Upfront cost of that happened to be well over $100. NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE CHEAP to count toward saving money and/or prepping. ffs Someone mentioned a wet towel working better. No. Just no. Wet towel turns to hot sweaty soppy towel. Unless you are just sitting there with a bowl of ice cube water. However, a cool towel paired with neck fan is nice (again, need to be able to swap towel) or one of those neck cooling packs.
If you can afford this product you could also get a small, backpack-portable Jackery (or similar) and a set of folding solar panels (again, backpack-portable), and you can stop to rest anywhere, set out the panels, connect everything, plug this in and have continuous heating or cooling, for as long as the batteries last.
My sister never wore a hat when walking until a teeny tiny spot was discovered on her scalp by a doctor. Skin cancer. Many stitches. She now has a hat for every occasion! As do I! Please think about it, Prepper Princess!
You know I just have to make another comment about your videos. They are so well made and so enjoyable. They always look so clean and bright and you'll always look so lovely
Hi prepper thinking about you while I watch the news talked about if you sell your rental you will get hit with 20% tax in Las Vegas if you're selling a home that you're living in the taxes of much less food for thought
I know the tax laws in and out but your info is not accurate. It’s FEDERAL law if you live in your house 3 out of the last 5 years as a primary residence, no capital gains. Or if you take the money from selling and buy a more expensive house, no taxes. I have no plans of ever selling my rental but if I do, it will be 20 years from now when it’s paid for itself 5x.
Kool your a smart cookie my mother would sat. Many people from calif moved to NV, roads are jammed packed. Homes are getting fined for using more water then the allowance. Bad surprises around here. Besides some real-estate workers haven't an idea of the real rules around here. I would say anyone should sell the home their in. Go back to their rental and live again. Then sell. Dingle women homeowners in NV get a tax brake they say????Have a Blessed day! 💐
Hi Princess. I was watching one of your older videos. It's 5 years old and titled something like $1 dinner. I'm curious what you were doing with peroxide in your kitchen. I've only been watching you for a few months, but one thing that strikes me about you is that your place is spartan. Therefore, I assume you had it there for a cleaver reason. Would you mind telling us?
Hi, I use peroxide to disinfect my kitchen sink and use EOS peroxide dishwasher tablets.I have a septic system and can’t use bleach products. It’s also a great brighter for whites in the washing machine. Great product and budget friendly.
