Love your vlog, learning PLO myself and this is so informative as well as entertaining (and hilarious). You are clearly a great player. One of these days you will have a session where all the all ins land, but such are the swings in PLO! Favourite poker vlog I’ve come across in either hold ‘em or PLO. :)
Really digging your vlog, and felt the pain on this one as a PLO fan. Your editing is very entertaining and I almost felt guilty for laughing at your painful rivers. Keep em coming.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Was super painful to produce, but even I was cracking up with jeezus swooping in on the turn only to have the cackling dealer show up on the river over and over
Thanks man, hey I'm glad I turned a negative 2k session into a negative 700 one, felt like a win after 6 hours and winning two pots lol Congrats on the run good, was great to meet ya!
Wow Man, you are awesome, I am 100% sure ,You have the potential to become one of top 4 poker Vloggers.Keep doing what you are doing. Good Luck Man👍🏼👍🏼
This video came up in my feed (not sure why, considering it's from a year ago!), and I found it to be a good watch with loads of well-analyzed hands. Compared to DonkFish, you strike me as a lot looser, so that's fun and instructive. Anyway, keep up the good work! I'll be checking out the blog going back to the beginning! Peace out!
@@PokerJeezus You bet! I've already watched vlogs 1-8 and continue to get a lot from your analysis and stories (the Cuban cheaters!). I just noticed that you haven't posted in 8 months. Will you be posting again soon?
@@davidstone9981 wow going way back to when I couldn't vlog live, blast from the past. I hope to one day resume vlogging, but I've been focused on other things as of late and it's just a TON of work to produce content regularly.
@@Phil1053Locket I'd still have to select the footage, script it, narrate it, then instruct an editor on my vision. Unfortunately it wouldn't save me much time.
Welcome to the mean streets! I highly recommend Jeff Hwangs PLO book The Big Play Strategy to give you a solid foundational understanding of how it differs from hold em Where do you play?
Here it comes, "the fuckening" i got a kick out of that one too, was worried it might get lost in the insanity of this episode, but glad you appreciated it
There's a possibility I'll be down at the Lodge the last Sun/Mon of Oct. Still enjoying 2/2 PLO in Dallas. I'm in the habit of only running All ins Once : Max Pain.
There's nothing more annoying than when you yell out across the poker room something derogatory about the dealer, suggesting that you losing a pot is somehow the dealers fault, even if it is just in jest or a joke. The dealer simply turns the top card over. That's the extent of their responsibilty, and the ONLY impact they have on amy hand is when they cut the cards after pulling them out of the shuffler. They are simply the messenger. This is nothing other than a coping mechanism that nobody in the entire poker room finds funny outside of the guy feeling the need to yell it across the room to let everyone know that he lost a hamd that he was a favorite to win at some point. Oh my God, are you serious?!? You mean, in an Omaha hand the person favored at one point in a hand didn't end up winning it? Holy shit that is so incredibly fucking rare and you took such a bad beat, are you ok?? At least everyone in the room now knows that you lost a hand that you weren't supposed to, at least one of the streets, even though not one person cares, nor cares to hear someone yelling some catchphrase across the room to make sure everyone knows the reason they are stuck is because someone supposedly sucked out on them. Dealers work hard to run games and take a lot of abuse. Furthermore, the reason you have these games to pkay in where PLO games are evem capable of running smoothly is because of dealers that are very good at their jobs. Not that you care what my opinion is, but the people that are most respected as players are the ones that say "Nice hand" when they lose a pot, and that's it. Not the ones who berate other players, yell out shit about the dealer sucking as the reason for you losing a pot, regardless of whether or not it's intended as a joke that is never funny to anyone in the room I promise you that, and also not the players that are the loudest. I think you should show a little more class when losing big pots. Other than that I enjoy the content as there is not a lot of PLO content out there. You're well spoken and are capable of articulating your thoughts better than a lot of vloggers. You should be above yelling stuff out like that. Personally, I automatically attribute mental weakness when facing adversity while playing poker to anyone who acts like this. Do yourself a favor and clean this part of your game up. You'll be happy you did.
Well damn, you let me have it. A lot of the dealers wear it as a badge of honor. Check a few vlogs back for the one with $320 straddles and you'll see a dealer named Ines cracking up She's the lady who flies across the screen cackling and loves that I put her in the vlog
Like I said, this is just my opinion and I respect if others disagree with it. I didn't mean for my message to come across as attacking you necessarily, just pointing out how it looks to others around you since often times we don't realize those things when it applies to ourselves. None of us are perfect, myself included. I just think it would be doing yourself a favor not just for your viewers but also for yourself. But I will say that I am a poker dealer and I also play a lot. So I am around this all day every day and the reactions players have to behavior like this is the kind of thing they talk about when the person acting in this manner is no longer at the table. And never, ever in a positive light. And I've watched that episode already. The way that dealer reacted to the antics is definitely the exception to the rule as opposed to the norm. As a dealer the normal response is to just let it bounce off of you as if you didn't even hear it, just like any other form of abuse dealers put up with all day every day from players making comments suggesting its somehow the dealers fault that the top card they turned over hurt your chances of winning the pot. Usually it's coming from players that are superstitious about which dealers they "can" or "can't" win with, but for those players that act this way, they usually will resort to making these comments regardless of which dealer it is, just about every time they lose a pot that they figured to be the favorite to win at some point.
@@davidcoon6455 that's fair, I really don't believe the dealers screwed me and I don't believe in abusing dealers either My sucka deala stuff is meant to be comedic, but I get that not everyone will appreciate it, or may view it as mean-spirited
@@davidcoon6455 so you aren't alone in your feedback, and even my wife is telling me it's a bit much. Moving forward I'm going to stop doing it, although you'll likely see it in the raw hands I share from this past weekend, but I'll also do an intro explaining my decision to remove the "sucka deala!" thing. I appreciate your honest feedback
Yeah I'm aware that you don't actually mean it in a serious sense and that it's an attempt to be funny. And admittedly I was probably a little bit harsh in my initial comments. My point was more to point it out since its something I see on a daily basis that just isn't viewed the same way by other players as it might be to the person doing it. So I apologize if I came across a little harsh. I think you do a good job and I mentioned that earlier, and I realize it's just my personal opinion, but I think you will benefit from from cleaning that one little thing up as it is likely viewed by a decent amount of other viewers as being less than professional more in line with the rest of your videos. Good luck and run good!
I'm in Austin, but I believe a democrat is introducing a bill that would make the membership clubs illegal if passed Then everyone will go back to underground home games and app-based poker
Sucks to see you get crushed in so many spots when you are a massive equity favorite pre. That vlog just reminds me of all my online PLO sessions. Getting called out by crap hands that somehow make the Uber Nutz by the river
It's REALLY painful when it all happens in one session and it feels like nothing can go right, no matter how bad they play they get rewarded. Idiot calling off over $600 preflop with KQ33 and just getting rewarded for it.
Think KK33 is a raise and or 3-bet with reasonable stack sizes, slightly better than limping multiway. Plays easy postflop, and Im looking to felt a deep stack.
Having 33 in your hand is not great. If we flop a set with it we could be up agsinst a bigger set. So imo only the KK and the one suited King is useful there
Generally I employ a pulling strategy. There are so many people who just want to play BINGO for stacks preflop If I give in to that, then I'm pushing thinner edges, allowing the maniacs to make smaller mistakes against me By pulling more players into a pot I handcuff the guys who try and run crazy bluffs because they are facing 5+ opponents In addition, I keep the weaker players in, the ones who will stack off light
Understandable , just given the action I figured you would want to push your equity edge preflop. Bad pre flop decisions from opponents usually always leads to good things lol
@@andrewhuynh7277 the thing is that preflop usually at best you'll be 65/35. But more often 55/45, so the edge isn't that great I regularly get people in spots postflop where I have 70-90% equity, so I prefer to have them make bigger mistakes rather than open pots up preflop to the BINGO many are trying to play
@@PokerJeezus yep that’s him. He is great for the game obviously, if he hits a backdoor draw he’ll do a lap around the table and yell “Backdoooooooooooooor!!”
Damn bro that takes some courage and some swallowing of pride to put this out… but ya this is how every other session is for me in plo. Get it in good and people won’t fold their equity and seem to always realize it.
It's actually an extremely profitable game, but sometimes the guys trying to play it like Bingo will get ya I'd still play PLO over hold em, much easier to get unstuck in PLO
I stopped screaming because half my audience hated it, even addressed it in another video And I play at TCH too. But ty for watching and taking the time to comment, and I'm sorry for being annoying
Tough one man, we all have these sessions and those opponents we just can’t seem to beat no matter how good we get the money in. I probably would have left a bit earlier than you did but props for sticking it out.
Sorry just saw this response. It might've been because I started the session winning, so I gave back the winnings AND dipped into $1,800 of my own on top lol
Sometimes in PLO it can be correct to fold the nut straight with no redraws In the hand here I had outs, but was vulnerable to the flush draws and board pairs I'd call one bet there, but a bet AND a raisd and I might be getting freerolled
@@iMixEdits THANK YOU! It's true, and I'm glad I have video proof! I haven't vlogged in 7 months but lots of viewers have been ssking so I'm coming back and should have new videos in about a week or so coming out
Poker Jeezus, are you worried about the texas legislature talk about closing card rooms? Im moving to Texas next week and I am worried that i picked the absolute worst time to move to texas.. I hope I can at least get some time to play if it does get kinked
@@cameronandrew1853 there is sometimes a 2/2 PLO with buyins of 200-700 to make it easier for people to play without the insane straddles the 1/2/5 sometimes gets
Why does plo literally never go this way for me. When I flop the best hand I always get out drawn, when I have huge combo draws I always miss. On the AAQQ hand I don’t understand why you called. Yes you’re getting good odds but you’re drawing dead almost to nearly any hand. You don’t even have straight outs. Frustration call I guess.
Because it's 640 to win a pot of close to 2300. So we only need to win roughly 28% of the time to break even The SPR has me locked in at that point. Also, did you watch the whole vlog? I have the best hand and get massively crushed in the end by 3445 going runner-runner steel wheel
@@PokerJeezusAlso, are you ever winning 28% of the time when you have an overpair on a monotone board in plo? I get that spr makes it a must call, I just feel that’s one of those times you can just get away and save the $600. Regardless of what theory says
Yeah, the holder for my phone is supposed to slide under the rail of the poker table, but the tables at The Lodge the rails don't lift up, so I have to balance it ON the rail itself and it makes the angle a bit odd. I try to be aware of my arm taking up too much camera space but I don't always catch it unfortunately
@@stignatius1625 I heard a Chinese guy in Tampa shout it, just means the dealer sucks cause you ran bad. Was meant to be comedic but half my audience hated it so I stopped saying it
I usually buyin for the 1K max or sometimes will match the stack. But when people are trying to play BINGO preflop with any four cards, it becomes a game of "who can get the luckiest". Check out this recent episode where they were straddling and restraddling to 80, 160 and even 320: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ovIBje-lDQk.html I bought in for 1K, lost that, started doing $500 rebuys and burned through four of those and lost 3 grand in under 3 hours and called it a session. These guys were calling anywhere from 200-600 preflop 5-6 ways. So you're going to the flop with 1-3 thousand already in there and no room to maneuver and play actual poker. When they're jacking the variance like that, AND you're running bad, it can make sense to buyin short because you can easily stack back up in a pot or two based on how crazy they're playing. I don't have unlimited money, so I can't just keep throwing everything I've got in a game that's playing nutso like that.
This is from awhile back. Based on viewer feedback I did stop shouting SUCKA DEALAH! but I can't recall which episode that took place. Thank you for watching and the feedback
I'm not trying to play BINGO preflop, that plays into the degenerates hands. If we play for stacks preflop you give up significant equity edges against these guys you'd have playing actual post-flop poker. So I do everything I can usually to try and keep pots manageable so we can see flops and then play actual poker, rather than flip coins for stacks, which is what all the degenerates want to do. But sometimes the game dynamics prevent you from pot controlling as everyone goes ham. I had a guy call off as the FOURTH all-in preflop for $1,000 holding QJ42 double s00ted! Good luck raising to "isolate" in Texas
