If enough of his friends help him, he may get it to run. But it will never be worth anywhere near $14k. More likely it will turn out just like the rest of his projects. Junk pile. LOL
That thing was fu*ked hard and put away dirty. 2700 hard miles. I don't think you have a bent frame problem, just a misaligned rollcage as you already found out. Hopefully theres no major electrical gremlins because I have a feeling that thing ended up like the Titanic and took on water and electronics got wet, how else would electrical components and other stuff up high in the dash area get so dirty other than lots of water splashing or being sunk. Aside from a couple broken and bent front end components, lets keep fingers crossed the running gear is fine, I think this project is doable. Although black spark plugs and the fact the engine was running rich isn't good, I`ll bet the oxygen sensor or wiring to it is damaged.
I get the feeling it got partly submerged early in life, but the owner gave up on it the last time it crashed. The mud in it is from one to many water crossings.
This dude made a BIG mistake buying this thing. It totally got swamped and I'm sure the electrical system is toast. When they get like this, it's VERY hard to trouble shoot. I have a feeling he'll either have to part this thing out, or sell it to another sucker. I'd love to know what he paid for it, I hope nothing more than 2 grand.
Always test before you buy parts it could be just a loose wire from the rollover. I doubt a coil would go bad in 1.5 years. This Engine is known for reliability, they go many thousands of miles. I worked on a older R1 bike that had almost 300 000 miles on it! If you take care of it it will take care of you.
wthomasw2 an insurance auction is liable to give accurate information on the vehicle they are selling, that’s how people are supposed to judge the value, usually the mileage is what tells you to to stop bidding after a certain amount. The person who did the listing saw the error code and wrote it as mileage. I would go back to them and explain
Hey bro. Long time sub new account though. You gotta bring back the hill billy on a dirt bike the og subscribers miss him lol. Great video bummer that you bought a poonched machine
Hey 3DMachines, I haven't seen anyone post this yet, but looking at the error codes for a YXZ1000, if it's 35, you've got an "open or short circuit detected in primary lead of ignition coil #3" which just adds to the electrical gremlins.
AWESOME!! 3D MACHINES IS BACK TO HIS ORIGINAL GENUINE CONTENT THAT MADE ME SUBSCRIBE ROUGHLY TWO YEARS AGO!! CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
Rather impressed with the route you are taking on this build. I know this isn’t the same dalton most of subbed to years ago but it’s better, and it seems like a compromise to me where you can bring in new people and still satisfy the old ones. I still wish you had taken this sorry if route with the bmw and gator and whatnot but maybe you’ll get back to those one day. Keep it up dalton
Creedg14 his new videos are pure garbage compared to the old ones they at least held your attention for more than 5 seconds these are honestly shirt and not worth the time just look at what happened with his last "big" project which was really just an engine swap and he fucked even that up by trying to get the cheapest engine possible
Rhys Aistrope well they are much better than your vids!!! These are much better produced and the contents & builds will only get better over time & the fun shenanigans will always be there over time. Its a business you need revenue to build, produce vids, fun days etc it is his lively hood, bills to pay, has to eat.....Nothing is free in life. He will grow bigger & stronger over time, come along for the ride & stop bitching or dont watch its that simple.
honda life 250x I’m with u but also my buddy just bought a yxz and he put like 25 miles on his and his spark plugs are black it’s because yxzs run rich and I don’t know if u can fix that or not
Dude. My heart goes out to you. U try so hard and every turn you take seems to end in a sand trap. But I admire ur animosity and positive attitude. Yeah that machine is way over 35 miles. Someone beat that poor thing. I hope at the end you get the machine you wanted from the start.
David Christian over the years I’ve learned to stop rushing into things just because of your anticipation. Will it run? Most likely, but it would be better to take care of the minor things until he gets good parts and give the engine a clean run down. It helps prevent further mistakes from my experiences.
+Carson Shoe Yeah I agree. Kind of goes hand in hand. I just know if it was me I'd be focusing on the motor and error codes and fixing everything minor to get it fired up. Instead of going over everything else and firing it up and it knocks like a 12V cummins in -15 degree weather lol. Sounded healthy when it did turn over tho
Dalton there are computer scaners that you can erase the milage or to change the milage on newer cars if the mechanic has one they can erase the milage and put whatever number they want
Luckily Yamaha motors and transmissions take a beating I don’t think you will have to worry about those. My guess for the miles reading 35 and the hour 150ish is they replaced the gauge cluster. The hours is is usually saved in the computer witch is why it wouldn’t show up when the computer wasn’t hooked up. You should have a killer machine when you are done and tons of fun. Love your videos and usually learn something new every video
Nooo like someone said in the previous video . it clearly says 2770 miles when u first turn the key on .. And then it says 35... Which is fault code 35.. So it would help of you read the comments
Ya should find someone with another YXZ or go to a dealership and get some measurements. Glad to see ya got a Yammie instead of a HONDA! And imho as an MX Tech, I've worked on many YXZ's and you should get a service manual for it. They are the best SxS out there imo too and I've driven em all.
First thing you should have done was check oil and the air box for any signs of water before you tried to start it. Also might not be a bad idea to change the clutch.
That's why you don't buy something and give someone cash without asking questions or looking at it in person especially if its something far away. Always look at what you are buying
Hi 3d machines!!! You will always be the best with your music . Nice to see you. I am sick so . I wolud like to see you on my phone everyday to remember you!!! Stay foggy fresh!!!!
Best thing to do is strip and start the rebuild from the ground up man. You're playing in haystack searching for multiple needles right now. Good luck to ya.
Sorry to say but you don't get a machine that has that much dirt and rust caked into it and only have 35 miles. (Yes i did see the 35 miles was a engine error code but for future reference). That's a 20k machine base price new so an insurance company wouldn't of totaled it if it only had 35 miles with what appears to be such minimal damage. I just hope for your sake the frame isn't bent/broke anywhere. Hopefully you got it somewhat cheap.
Set your wheels straight then measure center of front wheel to center of rear. Then go to the other side and do the same. That will give you some idea if one side of the frame is pushed back. With both front axles broken and the tie rod bent like that I’ll bet the frame is damaged. Just my opinion. I owned a atv rental business in Michigan and have had similar experiences. Good luck.
Loving the upload streak! Long road ahead of you on the YXZ but that just means more for us to watch! I’ll have to have you come down to PA and do a collaboration with my channel and rip up some trails once that thing is running!
Did you get a title with this machine if so look for a original owner or if it was signed over to a new owner and what miles it had when it was signed over
