Jackie Chan's choreography is usually done in such a way that it actually tells a story within itself, whilst also adding intentional elements of humour and his tactic of using whatever props/furniture etc. are around him to help him in his predicament is also something that helped him stand out (oh, and let's not forget the stunts). The fight scenes also have a unique rhythm to them - it is one of those things that you do not notice when it *is* there, but you *do* notice the lack of it if it is *not* there. This sense of rhythm and timing becomes even more important whenever his character is fighting more than one opponent at the same time because everything has to happen consecutively, with a sense of timing, so that each on-screen fighter can synchronise their movements with one another. Jackie often had his own group of stuntmen who were proficient at this kind of thing. Whilst the first _Rush Hour_ is not the *best* showcasing of his talents (American film studios usually would not allow him to spend as much time filming fight scenes as he was used to being able to do in Hong Kong movies he had done previously), it did help him further crack the American market following _Rumble in the Bronx_ a few years earlier, and the film itself is still entertaining. Jackie often did stunts himself and concerns about insurance and his potential to be injured and be unable to finish the film he happened to be working on at the time also meant that his usual dangerous stuntwork had to be toned down and/or given a different approach whilst in an American production such as this (they wouldn't even let him climb up that tree without there being a noticeable cut so that they could pad the ground beneath him so that *if* he fell he was far less likely to get badly hurt; more than likely they would not have bothered with that kind of protection in a Hong Kong production and that climbing scene would very likely have been in a single shot).

Jackie Chan does 95% of the stunts and fights.

4 parts of this movie that really make me crack up laughing are: 1. When Carter starts dancing like Michael Jackson in the middle of the street after blowing the car up 2. When Lee and Carter are bonding and practicing disarming techniques while Edwin Starr's song "War" plays in the background 3. When Carter says "I know that ain't the bomb. Get that bomb away from me." Towards the end 4. Carter picking a verbal fight with the elderly Chinese cook And trust me, the blooper reels for the remaining two movies are just as funny when it comes to the slip-ups with the dialogue.

Yes, please finish the trilogy. 2 and 3 are both hilarious. Also, Carter's car is a late 1970's Chevy Corvette.
