It's been a while since I had a BMX recording session. Some minor injuries have been keeping me from riding well enough to be entertaining, but the body felt strong enough and ‪@ScottyCranmer‬'s video with Matty learning backflip fakies had me feeling inspired.
Unfortunately, the weather was terrible so I loaded up my mansion on wheels and drove 2 hours to The Edge Skatepark in Tauntain, MA. It's basically the only indoor skatepark in the northeast, and it ended up being a really fun session :)

4:00 Its funny how you can nail the difficult bit and then mess up the easy bit. The other day I was trying to manual a set of stairs on my DJ bike but I misjudged the speed (and also didn't really scope the run out properly) and basically did a huck-to-flat. I nailed the landing but rode into a wall!, unfortunately It resulted in a broken metatarsal 😞 7 weeks later and I can walk pain free in full-shank hiking boots, looking to get some custom footbeds made now so I can walk in normal shoes. There may have been a couple of beers involved (!), they didn't effect my balance but they definitely effected my judgement/risk assesment!

Si. I've got 2 wheelsets: the 3 peg black spoke set is a coaster, and the Berd spoke 2 peg set is casette. Hopefully I'll have some Berds for the coaster soon :)

Can I ask are US skateparks setup as charities or privately owned? Me and my wife were looking at getting one setup in our home town in the UK, but after speaking to some owners it seems all the parks here are registered charities as they don’t make enough money to keep going and rely on donations etc to stay open.. just trying to figure out if we could make one work in the UK

All the ones I've come across are privately owned and aren't very profitable. Most owners barely float by but keep the parks open just because they love the sport(s). I think the insurance + rent combo is the main issue here; it's just too expensive and skaters / bikers just aren't trying to pay big enough entry fees.

From my experience I think there are more right foot forward + air to the left people than anything else. The rarest form of biker is the right foot foward + spin to the right variety. Only met 5 in my life
