This would have been a dream come true for Carrie. She grew up listening to Heart via her two sisters who were fans. Carrie's sisters would have been so proud of their baby sister. What a "goosebump" performance that was.

Ann Wilson IS the greatest female rock singer of all time. From the 70’s to now, her voice is still incomparable. Others that people think are close to her are Blondie, Marie Fredrikksen from Roxette, Joan Jett, Pat Benatar, Janis Joplin and Alanis Morisette.

I remember when Carrie sang this song on Idol and I think this was the moment she became the favorite to win Idol. For me and my wife, we were like "wow" and from that point on we believed she was going to win. Of course, we knew this song by Heart because we both grew up listening to Heart.

Such a great performance and loved your honest reactions. I was 15 when Heart released Alone as a single in 1987. It went to number 1 on Billboard and MTV, was nominated for a Grammy and was named the best song of 1987 by Rolling Stone & Billboard and the RIAA.

Carrie sang Alone on American Idol. Simon Cowell told her after hearing her that she would win the contest and sell more records than any other idol contestant. She also did it on the Ihart radio show.

Love Heart!! Princesses of ROCK! The Official Video is completely different, you get the power of Heart in the official. Ann Wilson's voice is almost unparalleled. Love Carrie as well. Agreed Asia, would have preferred the more upbeat version.

I was at the taping of this show. One thing that was different live than on this video is that Ann was almost twice as loud as Carrie when they alternated the last "Alllloooonnnneee!" at the end. It was very noticeable, but in the studio magic they clearly adjusted the levels. Carrie has many times mentioned that Ann is one of her idols as a singer. Lots of female country singers for some reason like Heart and site Ann as an influence even though the hard rock genre of Heart is very different. Gretchen Wilson (no relation to Ann) has always sung a couple of Heart covers in her shows, and Wynonna Judd calls Ann and Nancy Wilson her "sheroes" and had them on as guests on her Crossroads show.

The difference in volume levels is due to the difference in the power of projection. Anne Wilson is a beast. Pay attention to how much further Anne is from her microphone, and is still almost drowning Carrie out. Nothing at all bad about Carrie, she's awesome. It's just Anne Wilson is a powerhouse pretty much on a level of her own.

Back in the 80s, there was a band that went by the name of "Asia” (1982)-“Heat of the Moment,” “Sole Survivor,” “Only Time Will Tell,” “Wildest Dreams.” I enjoyed the music. You should check them out.

Ann Wilson is the best voice in Rock music for the last 40yrs or so. Doesn't matter male voice , or female voice nobody comes anywhere near Ann as far as power , range , and control is concerned.

When Linda runs that was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and also Kennedy Center Honors, Carrie Underwood saying for her on both occasions. You should check those out. She definitely adored Linda Ronstadt

The guitar player is Ann's sister Nancy. Seattle is so proud of our band! Heart is from Seattle and the house near my elementary school is still called "the drummer from Hearts house" lol

I was in a bar several years ago and, as usual, was hitting on this bartender that I liked there. This song was playing and they were at the part where they keep repeating the "how do I get you alone; how do I get you alone" so I go to the bartender, "not only how do I get you a loan; how do a get you a good interest rate ON that loan". I still didn't get a date (obviously) but I did get a laugh out of her which was nice.

Carrie sang Also be on American Idol as one of her solo performances. So she win idol. Became a huge cross over country and pop artist and then sings this live with the one and only Anne Wilson. Pretty fairy tale end ng for Carrie.
