You weren't ugly at 14. You were a *child* just learning how to do makeup and where you started just didn't compliment your natural face shape. I can see in the thumbnail that your eye makeup and eyebrows pull your face shape down, and both the ring lighting and flat foundation highlighted your natural eye bags and natural wrinkles. You didn't contour your nose, and the shiny red overlined lips also pulled the weight of your face down. You weren't ugly at all. You just needed to practice

I don't do it because i feel like i have to. I don't even think I'm unattractive. I do it because i can and i want to. I have depression over other things in life like having been bullied by jealous people and being physically attacked by abusive people. But looks have nothing to do with my depression except for the fact that people do bully attractive women. It makes me want to wear a burka but it doesnt change my mind about cosmetic surgery. I enjoy body modification and find it extremely fascinating. I think most people who get cosmetic surgery are cases like mine. I do say most and not all. Some are simply due to sadness and social pressures. Not mad at you or anything. Just letting you know.
It’s partly social media, but I also see people blaming men and blaming society. Women created beauty standards to compete with other women. Men were fine with us when we were hairy legged and living in caves. Modern day women no longer care about the word modesty and it’s all about outshining other women, and getting the most attention possible. Time for women to take accountability for toxic beauty standards and stop blaming men or society.

heads up for the impressionable people: do NOT get veneers!! messing with your natural teeth is the worst thing you can do. research the long term complications and financial aspect. you have to get them replaced every 10 years, which is not cheap. edit: want to say, if your teeth are normal and healthy, there is absolutely zero reason to permanently destroy them. if you have aesthetic issues/unhealthy teeth then veneers can be a good albeit expensive option.
My late father was a dentist who practiced conservatively and never wanted to alter a healthy tooth. Despite my respect for his opinion, I love the veneers on Lauren Giraldo and other influencers. If you can maximize your attributes before the ravages of gravity, child bearing and age, go for it. I like to think every woman has "her moment" when she turns heads and should protract that to postpone the years you will become invisible. Cheers!
@@trialgoddess Can we stop acting like women will "become invisible"? The amount of (sexual) attention we get from men does NOT determine our visibility as human beings. Our worth goes way beyond that. Without the contribution of older women, the world would collapse.

I'm sure people would say I need filler or botox or breast reduction, but that is not how I want to spend my money or time. If other people do those things in a tasteful manner, I don't hold it against them. I once went to a plastic surgeon to correct a tiny bump on my nose. The first appointment cost 60 Euros. He did some photographs, showed me what he eventually can do, invested his time, and said: "Sir, pick up your 60 Euros at the recepcionist and never come back again". He als said: "8/10 of his patients should visit a psychiatrist". What a great man, he changed my life and how I see myself.
Being that honest and truly caring about your clients should be the norm, but most doctors won’t tell you what he did because they just want your money.

Just because she had plastic surgery doesn't mean she didn't or doesn't love herself. She's been seeing her face on a screen since she was 14. She was bound to scrutinize it. She decided to make subtle changes. That's her choice 🤷🏾♀️

It’s going to be far worse for her and others who do this much work even just getting Botox wrecks your muscles. She’s not going to age gracefully and her mental stability (or lack there of) is going to struggle with that, unfortunately.
I've seen it in a few women already who started with fillers in their 20s. They destroyed the connective tissue between their skin and fascia. Drooping like Droopy Dog by age 30. I'm nearing 40 this year, only recently got botox cuz society has decided that I don't get to be natural and not be harassed. Srsly, I was being attacked simply because my face showed emotion. As if my 11s were an affront to their delicate sensibilities
You were NOT ugly before, and the thumbnail is not an accurate portrayal of how you looked in the videos before all of these procedures. This is exactly what body dysmorphia does to people's perception of how they look. Most of us can't drop $30,000 on all these procedures in pursuit of "perfection". So I really hope no one out there thinks this is the answer or necessary for happiness in any way. Also, people who get addicted to plastic surgery often end up getting more and more procedures over their lives that eventually make them look objectively worse in the end.
Maybe it’s a controversial opinion, but I find videos that normalize plastic surgery in this way to be dangerous and dystopian. It’s not your fault, you’re a victim of an industry that profits off of the manufactured insecurities of women. Like many, you’ve been groomed by influencer culture & beauty marketing. If you’re lucky, you’re going to get old someday. I hope when that time comes you find a self-love that is less conditional. Especially now, it’s incredibly important for women to find the beauty in what makes them unique. I feel the pressure too-I used to hate my appearance-but I am determined to love & accept myself in my natural form despite all odds.
completely agree. also, the last line of your comment reminded me of that quote by Caroline Caldwell on May 17th, 2015, “In a society that profits from your self-doubt, liking yourself is a rebellious act.”
When I was young, I hated my nose, jawbone, and forehead... Then I grew out of this self-hate and learned that I was actually very pretty. I have never had anything done to my face but I had breast augmentation at 22 years old. After the silicone started leaking into my body, I got new implants. It's been a nightmare ever since. Now I am sick, I have developed several autoimmune diseases and cannot afford to have my implants removed. Social media has made so many young people feel self-hated and rush off to a plastic surgeon to have plastic surgery. It's really disturbing because you cannot enjoy life when you constantly think you are not enough and need more plastic surgery. You don't need it. You need self-esteem and self-love.
Don't blame social media for your need to conform to society. Blame your parents maybe but you chose to follow the herd, now live with the consequences.
I always wanted implants and a BBL until I learned about BII and fat embolisms. 😅 I had lip fillers too and now we know they’re not temporary and can migrate. Only thing I don’t regret is miradry.
Don't blame social media. blame your own self control. you are responsible for your actions. be your own person and stop being sheep. You people are weak and it shows.
Hopefully videos like these could encourage more of them to come forward! Regardless, some people may feel like this is TMI or just extremely personal. I want to thank all of you in the comments for being so nice and supportive. Your attitudes for sure will help people understand that it’s ok to get work done and not be ashamed!
I swear this video actually did help surprisingly much to just become more aware about such unrealistic expectations. I know you hear it all the time that so many people on IG and co have either things done or use editing but it is hard to really gasp on an subconscious level where this all influences us if it's this generalized. Mia is like the typical unbelievably pretty women showing up on my feed regularly. Having her actually just being honest about what she looked like before and what she got done to look the way she does now is just so eye opening. She did look pretty before there is no denying that! But she looked like pretty girls you'd meet on the street IRL! I think I keep forgetting when I am online that this kind of "perfection" is a standard we all compare ourselves to, but we don't even encounter that many people IRL who are this beautiful and even much more rare that they are simply born that way. Even if there is no surgery / botox at play many women compensate with the power of make up etc. So I really appreciate it and good for her! At least she has learned now to research who she trusts with her procedures unlike when she started so kuddos to that. I think many of us simply don't have the money or are too scared to actually have something done and if not scared of the physical consequences, being scared of getting judged for it., I personally know the later part is what holds me back the most.
maybe their should get more educated and show their followers that surgery will never make you happy their no surgery to fix hating yourself. And, this is just it self-hate. These YTers should be teaching self-love unless they are doing this money the dough.

@@Googaify Well it is concerning in terms of her already having done a lot and things she now does are things you'd have to do over and oversthey won't last, leading to scar tissue and negativity affecting her looks in the longrun. From a psychological pov that is concerning because obviously her looks are important to her and it can lead to a lot of body dysmorphia down the line as she ages if the procedures make her look less attractive later. Some plastic surgery can really enhance your beauty significantly but from all celebs we can see that not knowing when to stop can make you look like plastic so it's not wrong to give feedback. @@Googaify I’m not telling her what she can and can’t do. She might not be harming others but she is potentially harming herself in the long run. These cosmetic procedures are not fully safe, some of them have long term affects that have been proven and some of the newer procedures have yet to show the life long affects. Not only that, but she’s putting her body through extra changes that it’s not naturally accustomed to in the name of beauty and aesthetics. It would be one thing if she was getting a nose job because her nose is abnormally large or causes breathing issues due to the structure of her nostrils or something. Or getting lymphatic massages to boost circulation and achieve a toner body shape…. That would be more than fine. everyone can hype her up for being so open about what she’s gotten done….but that doesn’t take away from the fact all of what she’s done to herself is truly saddening. 😶
@@leonardomendoza2126 lol I think this video is wild and she's definitely had way too much done for her age but she and every other person that's had plastic surgery is no less real than anybody that hasn't. don't be an idiot. they are not morally inferior to you just because you haven't had any work done, what a ridiculous thing to insinuate. they are normal ass people and to act like they're not is really weird of you.
Be very careful with the filler. Botox fine, threads fine, but the one thing that they keep from you about filler, is that it never fully disappears, it beings to migrate and that’s when you’ll see people with that odd chipmunk puffy pillow looking face. You are absolutely gorgeous so just a piece of important bit information for you. Just be careful with filler 👍
Threads are actually not fine, they literally cause internal scarring that builds up into almost keloid-like structures under the skin😣they can cause so much damage long term so please always research before getting any!
I agree 100%! But good injectors will be honest with you when they see it's migrating and recommend you have it dissolved which takes 2 weeks and then you can be reinjected where it's supposed to be
Just gonna add here that I get Botox now in my late twenties for chronic migraines but if you start it too young especially when you don't need it for a medical reason it makes your muscles atrophy and not only will you need it forever but your face will look like a droopy mess and you'll be on the hook for hundreds-thousands a year for the rest of your life.
I totally get why you felt the need to do all of this. When I went through puberty I absolutely hated myself, not to mention I got bullied extremely bad. Every single day my looks got picked apart, from my ass, to my nose, to my eyebrows. I wanted a nose job so bad when I was 16. I got thick side bangs on purpose to cover most of my face because I was so embarrassed of my appearance and I felt as though I looked like a monster. Fast forward now I'm 31. A mom to a beautiful little girl and I've been married 2 years. I've gotten no work done, despite my longing of wanting to. I'm so so glad I never got anything done. Especially now that I have a daughter, I want to show her I'm living proof that you are able to love yourself. It just takes time and people are miserable with their own lives so they feel the need to bring others down. Thank you so much for your honesty and transparency ❤
Oh man she’s in for a rude awakening when she hits her 40’s … you’re barely halfway to halfway and you’re this addicted, I can only imagine once time kicks in. I feel bad for this chick and every girl who feels like they have to do this
@@MiaDio this is very nice and generous from you. I love the results you are really beautiful. Please don't do to much now, plastic surgery is very addictive. When we start, it's never enough after. So it's not unusual to hear that "I have redone my nose 3 times, had a facelift at 35 years old... etc." It's crazy. Please don't fall in that trap. ☺️
People can do whatever they want to themselves, but they have to remember those genetics will transfer to the children. This isn’t the Sims. You can’t create a genetic line with surgery.
This is incredibly disturbing. Imagine all the trips, classes, etc you could have taken with that money. There was nothing wrong with your face, body or teeth. What will you look like when older? How much will this cost to maintain? I wish you the best.
The List: - lip filler - cheek filler - mid face thread - masseter jaw Botox - breast implants - veneers - nose job - forehead Botox - midcheek threads - Fox eye threads Please add if I missed some
Owning it doesn’t prove in any way that what you did came from a healthy place. People like you have made me love beautiful imperfections so much ! Thank you I guess ☺️
it's nice that she's honest about everything but it makes me sad for her that she's doing so much so often. she's so young. we see how ppl do so much and before you know it their faces look so abnormal.
The amount of body dismorphia in this video is so fucking scary. You know you have gotten lost in the sauce when you are being sponsored by plastic surgeons. I have no clue how this content came up in my feed, but I sincerely hope no teenagers or vulnerable young adults get served this content so you can't damage them further. Leaving this kind of content behind in my early 20s made a world of difference to my life and self esteem, but I really never noticed it until right now. This video is genuinely upsetting. People commenting to thank your candor as if it's not just contributing to the warped beauty standard is also disappointing.
There's a few problems with plastic surgery: 1. Some people have botched nose jobs that make it hard for them to breathe through their nose. 2. If you find love after getting plastic surgery, you'll never know if they would have loved you with your "real" face. This would bother me a lot. 3. If you have a kid, they will look like you naturally did. They might find out you plastic surgery done. Youll have to explain to them, "Yeah I used to look like you, but I paid tens of thousands of dollars to not look like that anymore, because I thought I was so ugly." Ouch. 4. You could have spent that money on hobbies, travel, family, or other passions that would have given you more happiness in life. Instead, that money was spent on insecurity and unrealistic expectations. Pretty sad.
We’re going to have an entire generation of very beautiful, carbon copy young women- who age horrendously at a very young age, because they’ve had the buccal fat removal, face filled with fillers and Botox. I’ve no doubt we’re also going to have a generation of young women developing Cancer and awful autoimmune diseases because whilst still growing & developing they’ve filled their bodies with toxic fucking substances. We’re a sick society. But I appreciate her stating that its not just natural beauty- it’s artificial, manufactured. Most never admit it (Kylie Jenner anyone??) and say they just drink water, snort coconut oil or something. I’m very sad for this young woman and wish her healing
they already are becoming sick. breast implants can trigger auto immunity diseases. its so sad i'm sick with chronic diseases and i'd do anything to get better. i'd never risk my health for something as arbitrary as my buccal fat
I havnt had plastic surgery but I don't think it causes cancer (except implants might) people all around the world have surgery for different things. I think we should stop shaming ppl for how they look and stop shaming people who had plastic surgery aswell. Breast cancer patients get breast implants, testicular cancer patients get testicular implants, my bf has screws in his jaw because it got broken, burn victims get massive amounts of plastic surgery, people in accidents etc. Plastic surgery is incredibly amazing for what it can do to people. Mostly your comment shows women can't really win. They get picked apart and shamed no matter if they get plastic surgery or not.
Idk I guess I don't see plastic surgery as that detrimental. For girls who seek plastic surgery to fix emotional issues, it can be yes. But Mia seems to have a self-awareness of what she's doing. We're also forgetting about plastic surgery that benefits people who are socially isolated due to disfigurement and the like.
Oh no… Appreciate the transparency but please, stop now. Your doctors are so not being honest with you. For teeth; all you needed was composite bonding. Your alignment was already perfect. Shaving your REAL enamel to force Veneers is insanity. It would have also been 1/2 the cost and no flight required. PDO threads repeatedly? Red flag. Her doctors certainly are not making her aware of the long term effects and loss of collagen / elasticity ! Fillers in your already pronounced cheekbones? Girl. What. You literally were already pretty, I would say just get bonding and lip filler. And the long term face drooping from administering botox early…. Please, stop now.
This made me so sad. I hope someday she finds peace with her body and people who love her for who she is inside. I'm sure other young women will watch this video and feel insecure about their bodies too. It must be so hard to resist the onslaughts of the beauty industry these days
in my opinion the title isn't good for young girls that could look like you before getting work done. It could make them think they need to also change themselves.
What's crazy to me is, I saw your before pictures and literally said "she's so pretty!" You are still pretty! I just wanted to share that. Beauty is deeper than skin and features I'm learning as I get older. Thank you so much for sharing your journey. I have always wanted to get a nose job. I was bullied in school over it for years. I sometimes stare at it in the mirror and just hate myself. Then I walk by the mirror when I am really happy and I see a totally different person. Like I see myself as a whole person, body, soul and all simultaneously. I then experience such gratitude for myself as is . Flaws can be beautiful. Also there's this girl I know that I always thought "it's unfair how pretty and perfect she is." Then she opens her mouth and she is the nastiest person to everyone. Only thinks of herself and says things to hurt everyone she can't manipulate and control. My six year old son declared her name one day when I said "the most beautiful person on the outside can be the ugliest on the inside"🤯 Women, sisters, we are too hard on ourselves and when we focus on what we perceive as a flaw we miss other things that are more profound. Be beautiful inside and you're outside will match your inside. Test it out! It's like a glamour spell. Have you seen the movie Stardust? Just glowing like the stars we are🤩 It happens especially when I meditate, practice mindfulness and being grateful in the present moment even when washing dishes which I loathe😭 If that doesn't work smudge with sage, lots of sage and lavender spray.😂Turn on your favorite music, dance it out💃🏼 and when you feel your heart tingling and doing the flutter, look in the mirror like who tf is that?!😂😍😘
This is why girls today have body image issues. You were not ugly. Oh my God 😔 There are people sleeping in tents on the streets, and kids battling diseases of all sorts, and this is what we pressure youth to spend their money on. We need to stop. Hon, you’re beautiful.
This is what happens when you have a super comfortable life, and never went through anything. People have a lack of beliefs and morals and all they care about is themselves and their looks. So sad
I’m so glad everything you’ve done one your face worth it. Not everyone is that lucky. Some people spend thousands and they finish looking worse or losing their natural face expressions 🥺
I like your honesty but I hope this is not making other young women think that plastic surgery is the answer. I have a friend who started at 19, and by the time she was 35 she looked like her face was made of frozen rocks, her skin bleaching was splotchy, her Botox had become gnarly clumps, her breast implants became lopsided. She looked horrible. Once you start, you can’t stop. Which relates to how this urge to drastically change the way you look always comes from some inner confidence problem. And when you lack confidence or the right mindset, people will always see right through you, and you will never feel adequate no matter how much surgery you do. Realize that the way you look is not the only value you hold, build your career and achievements, focus on solving that confidence problem, being healthy, fit, taking care of your skin, knowing how to do natural-looking makeup and your hair, and then your beauty will shine.
When I was 16 I wanted a nose job and a boob job and to be 100 lbs. Thank God no one let me do all that. I love my body and face now more than ever at 29. You really grow into your looks in your 20's and your body changes. Got baby botox once at 28 in the forehead from a Dr. and immediately regretted it. Had terrible reactions and it made my brows drop for months and forehead tingly on one side since getting it. I'll never do it again lol.
this video made me really sad. though it’s good you’re being open about this, cosmetic surgery generally speaking is something only few can afford therefore making others feel less than. while you get to be a confident barbie girl, other young women and girls who can’t afford to look like barbie will continue to struggle everyday with something as superficial and meaningless as looks. what society and beauty standards have become is baffling. dystopian.
I appreciate how candid you are. I hate how far I had to scroll to see even one positive comment to you; people can be so negative. You have the right to do whatever you want to your body--what matters is that you love yourself and love others. ♥✌
