I Was WRONG About Eve L. Ewing And EXCEPTIONAL X-MEN. Here's Why. 

The cancel culture nonsensical weird "people" want to stop the rest of us saying anything even remotely negative about "their" nonsense. Marvel's ridiculousness is costing them our business. No more money from us Marvel!

I remember Zack talking about her. Some fan site had an online petition asking Marvel to hire her for Ironheart because “she looks like ReRe Williams and came from Chicago”. They said that since her dad had a vaguely comic industry back ground that she would be a great comic writer…despite never writing a comic ever.

I actually sat down and read this comic... and for a title called "Exceptional" I've never read something so, damn basic. Seriously, they took the character of Kitty Pryde; ninja, X-man, adventurer... and turned her into a gay barista. How the mighty have been beaten into the ground.

A wise line from Star Wars: "Strike me down and I shall become more powerful than you can imaginge." - paraphrasing Obi-Wan Kenobi. The whiny weird jokes of "people" only made sure that EVERYONE will be reminded that they do not have to tolerate "their" nonsense.

Of course "they" want to get rid of Colossus... That character is too big and uses too much plastic to make. Disney and Hasbro want to cut costs as much as they can to squeeze more money out of the rest of us. We all really need to be walking away from these weird "people" and stop looking back.

The black Colossus replacement is her selfinsert, and the way to introduce her by using a legacy character is the typical way to bring this type of characters into a story. The similarities to Ironhaert are noteable. Next, we will see her as especially powerfull and MarySue like. A lot of this Book-Run will go arround this character when she learns that she was extraordinary and powerfull all along. She only needed someone that believed in her (this is the reason for Kitty Prides new developed lesbianism). And it is interresting that she looks like all these other Diversity-hired Fanfiction Writers.

I'll give the book credit for one thing: The art is pretty good. I just wish the artist got to draw things that were actually interesting.

This first issue made me want to go back to All New X-men from a decade ago. When Kitty was mentoring the time displaced younger x-men. I still didn't enjoy the issue, but the cover and ending with Emma has me hoping future issues would be as good a All New X-men from a decade ago. Which coincidentally had Emma and Kitty on the same team as well!

At least you admit you don't know anything about comics or current comics and you do zero research ...even for this video ...but I don't think that makes it better. I admit you probably don't have time to Google stuff and the format is about on the cuff hot takes thus making it cost effective (though misinformed). Here is my hot take: Eve Ewing was hired because her internet following pushed for her to be put in Ironheart. The book was better than Bendis' take on character but it was ok. Not bad, better than some might have thought, but still highly unlikely to have enough following to continue. The character just isn't very popular. I have not read this X title but my opinion is they should have made 1 X team book (not including Wolverine and Deadpool books) and hired the best writer and best artist to really push it. Splitting it into too many titles, and having them be just ok books at best ... it keeps people from getting into Xmen. And interest, cause of successful Xmen 97 show, was there. But they went back to flooding the shelves. Eve Ewing is not a bad writer but she should not have been given a main title and instead been part if the team and started with more direction and less stakes. (A mini, a co writer, more editorial direction.) But yeah Xmen for at least 6months should have been 1book. Hot take. Now where are my super chats and support my crowd funding.
