At 16:44 it is mentioned that the annihilape got too low, but the switch clocks needed to be desynched to prevent losing switch. What else could have been done to prevent taking that charm damage?
If I realize the clocks arent back in sync, i should bring in the ape right away and don't wait my clock, I get counters onto basti while they are locked, giving me a night slash to chip the wigglytuff and burn the remainder of my clock after they switch. If I can wait out my clock, I will, but if I can't, getting counters into basti is good as I can night slash wiggles to stall the rest of my clock :)
One thing to note as Annihilape whether you are running Ice Punch or Night Slash into a dps heavy pokemon with low bulk like Shadows or Dragonair they will tend to almost shield everything thrown at them so having quicker charge is always a good thing as well if you are running NightSlash as it is 1 counter cheaper and also a chance to boost attack as well. Giving up Ice coverage against Gligar but in exchange you will charge at the same pacing as they do and you also win Charge Attack against them as well which does not seem bad either but another good benefit is while you cannot deal higher damage onto pokemon without that Ice coverage it can also put them down to farmdown range.
11:49 yeah the shadow dragons have been everywhere recently, both D-nair and D-nite. Working on building a shadow A-slash since I can finally TM away Frustration
Yeh i switched to Night Slash from Ice Punch a week into release. Pacing is much better, infact i beat a Talonflame going 1 shield to his 2 with it..this obviously is the exception to the usual but it wouldnt have been at all possible with ice punch because of pacing
Considering Night Slash as the first and most used charged attack, is there any advantage in Shadow ball over CC? At least in these matches, it didn't look so useful (or used)
Shadow ball is a good neutral move in a lot of matchups and can hit Cresselia, Medicham and other Annihilapes for super effective damage. The matchups where CC is good are matchups where Annihilape can probably win without it anyway.
@@alsonaarif7367 Yeah but close combat is such a good move that can give it the edge in shield advantage situations, like a late game sweeper. Not saying it's better than shadow ball, but sounds like an interesting approach to ape
Started running it with night slash since it started because of pacing, lack of bulk, and boosted counters are just nasty. I’m sad you posted this because I loved being different now every one will be copying this move set 😭
Just build Annihilape, Maney is spawning in the wild and old players should have some candies already. And it's cheap, so no reason to limit yourself to just old meta mons.
Night Slash in UL because yiu can outpace Dirge depending on IVs but even then my rank 1 Anni 0 15 15 wins CMP over Dirge with NS. I'd say if you cam build two Annihilape for UL, one with Ice Punch and the other Night Slash
When you cast for Play Pokemon, you must say "charge attack priority". They do like many syllables. I don't. I also hate it when they say "protect shield". Totally unnecessary, since there are no attack shields.
"lack luster" that pretty much completely replaced Medicham in regionals? Probably best fighter in GL meta rn? Only Poliwrath competes with it really but a debuffer works quite differently. Medi now only has more bulk but way worse typing. Are u really saying possibly best fighting type in open and show6pick3 great league metas is "lack luster"??
@samamies88 yes in my opinion it is lack luster, I feel like its missing something. Poliwrath is the better fighter without the typing right now because of the debuff it does. It almost feels out of place in the GBL great league meta right now. In the show 6 pick 3 I haven't watched very much of the tournaments so I can't give my own opinion on that
@@MrThammagotcha you should watch the Liverpool Regionals. The Grand finals featured Annihilape with Shadow Ball and either night slash or ice punch, and both have their pros and cons.
also on charlotte side league tournament someone swept 8-0 everyone with annihiliaape. Thotechnical had recap of that. Altho it is side event the are still championship points on line (getting enough those guarantee or help to get into worlds). Worth watching either whole event vod or if you are busy that recap Tho made.
Can you please please please please start saving your lives? I was enjoying watching you commentate the battles in Liverpool, but your stream ended before I caught up. :(
