With the upcoming fantasy event, should we be holding onto all our packs for a better chance of pulling a fantasy card? Especially since our “rewards”are of low OVR cards

Hey Sleeves love all the content and hard work! I'd be completely lost if it wasn't for you and a few other creators. Keep it up! I have an extremely easy and I believe reasonable fix for EA: on the XP path, replace each tier that gives us 1 player (75, 76, etc) with this year's equivalent of an Elite Pack, Mega Pack, or otherwise. Tradeable packs that give us 10 - 30 items with at least a few guaranteed NHL players, and a couple guaranteed 77+, with low odds of pulling something better, increasing as the XP tiers get higher. Either intermittently or towards the final tiers, throw in an Ultimate pack or Ultimate Choice pack (maybe even in the Bonus Tiers), packs that have at least 1 or 2 guaranteed 80+, with slightly better odds of pulling something higher. Also, make a couple similar packs available in the store (at a reasonable price), to give people who spend money incentive to buy packs to chase the cards they want, and sell what they choose. I believe this would allow the market to correct itself back to a healthy place without giving us all the highest rated cards in the game right now. A large portion of us are coming from the last few months of 24, when the packs were more juiced than we had ever seen before, so I think that's where some of the reaction is stemming from as well. I think NHL 25 HUT can still be great, with gameplay having a pretty positive reception overall. My only complaints with gameplay would be the OP unscreened one-timers, how my AI seemingly tries to block my path to the slot and my own shots on purpose, and the weird glitchy goals with goalies (when they make a save, and then a small movement and the puck goes in the net somehow), but it's less frequent than it used to be.

Hey Sleeves, This is only my 2nd year playing HUT, and I feel I have a much better team now than I did last year at this time. The only issue i feel is that you should earn XP playing ANY MODE in the game. I feel not earning XP in Franchise was a big miss from EA with all the Franchise updates they made this year.

Not a question but a statement I’m a division two player so I’m playing against at least decent competition and I’ve found every tall goalie I’ve tried has shit the bed and I keep circling back to my 82 Martin Brodeur he’s been so consistently decent not the craziest saves but not many floppers

I’m a division 2 player and this year it’s very discouraging because I’m playing in constant sweaty games with zero reward for being good at the game. There needs to be an incentive for being good in rivals besides just a slight uptick in xp per game. I’m also a top ranked MLB the show player and love the World Series/ Battle Royal rewards concept. It allows the best players to be rewarded with player items that are sellable on the market. The casual players are also able to obtain these players but the version they receive are un-sellable. I believe HUT could adapt some version of this to incentivize players to keep wanting to improve. Otherwise it’s just draining playing insanely good players to get minimal rewards.

Hey sleeves hope all is good. I completely agree that we don’t have enough players to make the chase cards but I realized that if they give us an overload of 75-80 ovr players everyone will be able to make cards from every event. Look at the recent team of the week and game breakers, every player would be able to make every team of the week pack over and over again because the cost of the collectibles are only a couple of 75-77. If we get more players for the chase cards then they would have to raise the price of msp collectibles aswell. I think that there is so many little things like that that we aren’t taking into account when asking for more players. It’s not that giving us more players is a bad idea, i think it’s just we aren’t used to this change yet. I think saving team of the weeke collectibles from this week can be the play and use then for upcoming weeks where you’d be able to make multiple packs because you’re saving and get multiple 83+ totw cards. We are asking without thinking. I hope you understand what I’m trying to say, we need to give the game some time it’s too early to even make the holographics. Look at last year we didn’t get the op icons and xf right away. We need to give the game time!!!!!!

In previous videos, you said to use the “offhand” principle for creating a lineup, does this go to just the wingers or defencemen also? For most cases i’m fine with defenders being in position, but occasionally i would love them to switch places. There really should be a quick action to switch player positions between the faceoffs, because this is situational in every game, if the goal is to achieve the irl experience of the game, i would love this! Don’t have any ideas yet of implemetation but hoping it’s on the radar!

The captain xfactor cards are untradeable not BND. I thought they were BND as well but after doing the mcdavid set and getting the 2 captains back I realized they had the untradeable symbol on the card and not BND. which is amazing cause now I have a kuch and miro I can use to trade in in case they get a TOTY or TOTS card.

idk if it's just me, but I feel like every MSP set should mimic the X-Factor McDavid set. Since cards are so expensive and so hard to obtain, if I'm trading in six 82 cover athletes for a 85 MSP, let me get 2 back that are BND so my team isn't gutted completely. Anyone know how to chip the puck using total control? Usually it’s R3 and directional but I can’t find anywhere online that shows that you can even do it on total control. It’s such a useful tool that I would switch back to skill stick for.

My main problem with the very limited cards that we can use is that the game feels like December in previous years when nobody spends anything as waiting for TOTY. The slow progression is good but why we could not use different 83s and 84s or even 85s which will not be relevant by December. The first 2-3 events had so cheap MSPs prior that they were my favorite events but at the moment I like the gameplay but not too hyped about anything.

Hey sleeves, should I choose to make a non meta PUI? I really want to make either Iginla/Niedermayer but I’m worried that they won’t see as many regular upgrades as 99 or 66.

The biggest change that I haven’t yet seen much discussion for is that the newest competitive objectives now give tradeable packs. I have opened the first two and I got one 74 card while the rest were 75-81 all tradeable. The final reward is a mega pack which I assume is 12 cards. This is a massive influx of tradeable cards to the market and if it stays as a weekly thing will definitely lower prices. I think the elite pack had 4 cards so my estimate is that you will get 20+ tradeable cards that can actually be used in sets every week. You can grind those 30 wins out in 2min SB games vs semi-pro so it’s very achievable to complete for a big part of the player base.

Sleeves really appreciate your content, been watching ~3 years now. Personally don’t mind in the early stages the lack of high end cards to begin the game and lower overalls, but in the same boat as many of not knowing what to do now that players I want have been bought & objectives/new content don’t lead FTP to many desirable items to build (let alone, not being able to with such little volume on the market), so what would your advice be on what to grind? I honestly have no clue what to chase/go for.

I have 2 questions. I can make a base x factor card through sets, do I do it knowing im never getting the 87 mcdavid? And I'm also a no money spent hut player, is there any way you can get any fantasy player cards without spending any money. My guess is no but im not sure

I have no idea where to go with anything. I have about 100 players in a 75-79 range. Instead of chasing Mcdavid or whomever, save everything for the current event then throw resources in to make, sell everything else to buy the new hotness? This chel I have been lost! Hey Sleeves, thanks for the great content. Watching your videos over the past couple years has made me a better player. I’m old and slow, so I’m not good, but your tips definitely help. You hit the nail on the head with your take on EA’s lack of communication. I think there was an opportunity for the Developers and Content Team to at least explain these changes to either the Game Changers and/or the broader community during early access or at launch last week. EA has every right to make these changes. Maybe it should be harder to get chase cards and Team Builders, but changes of this magnitude need to be communicated better. I’m not sure if it is intentional oif they are concerned that communicating changes will lead to disappointment and less money spent on the game, I guarantee that a lack of communication of major changes will do the same. I’m going to still play the game, but I want to see how the season plays out before automatically deciding to buy the game next year.

I was trying to buy 76s yesterday between 1000 and 3000k and man some of these guys hands are way to quick at least 30 cards I couldn't get cuz my stoner brain is to slow I spent almost half and hour only got 5 😅 even if it's not the smartest way to spend coins I have 6 of the players already towards sundin.

Hey Sleves, I have spent more money then I am willing to admit, my team is all 84 plus and I have most of the chase cards, I also worked the market like the guys comment who you commented on first last video, my concern is even with my overall team I know its not going to make me better, but in game when I go to get a hit on 82 Richard or a 77 with a 86 McDavid or Grezkty and I have decent position nothing happens, is there and plan for a tuner because I am struggling to take the puck form people raging it and doing the body position glitch, or is there any way you recommend to counter it, I've been using your strategies, Thank You for your response!

I'm glad to hear the voice is back!! I gotta say I was very upset with the initial rewards through XP Season 1. But the recent amount of moments and objectives we've been given was pretty decent. Hoping EA will continue on this trend. Anyways!! Do you think that EA will add price caps onto cards to combat "inflation" (lol) or maybe change the set card amounts?

I agree with the concern about objectives I'm already done all my icon objectives and almost done my xfactors. The weekly objectives are a nice addition however and I think those chase cards are going to be a lot more obtainable than originally thought. I'm FTP and I'm 7/12 on vintage and 3/12 on modern without any market grinding. I haven't made any TB however I don't see them being a viable option for FTP.

Which theme team rule set should I follow: Only use cards with the Blues logo on them this year? Or use players who have played with the Blues but might not have a card with a Blues logo this year (like icon Brett Hull). If I do this, what should be the cutoff for how long they’ve played for them, or should it be unrestricted (Brodeur as Blues legendary goalie anyone?)

Thank you for being critical, and truthful but not overly negative like some of your fellow RU-vidrs. The game is far from perfect but *some things are getting better and the gameplay is the best it's ever been. Now onto my question.. Would this not be the best way to use our stockpile of BND's: Everyone including me hates getting these BND cards but as I'm getting ready for the Fantasy event and preparing for the possibility I may need to put my 4th line and third d pair into sets to make a Fantasy MSP. Then I remembered I have a ton of BND's and these will be PERFECT as temporary 4th line and third D pairings should I need to sacrifice all of them. Reply

First, I got the game early this year. Assumed I knew what was going on and sold mcdavid for a brutal 80k (which was the price at the time) seeing him go for 250k now hurts. Second, when does the fantasy event drop. I have 700k coins which feels like a lot but I know now that it’s probably just slightly above the average amount. Where should I spend them.

Here's my strats that I've been using recently since the update and it's been working for me. Keep in mind I'm mainly offline player 1 2 2 passive Neutral zone trap 2-3 Stay close Tight point and collapsing The players actually seem to fallback when they/I turn over the puck . I can get hits poke checks leading to turnovers for me and the odd breakaway. Try it out and let me know!

Hey Sleeve! :D OG player, I used to love grinding Rivals to test my team, earn weekly reward packs, trade HUT Champs Collectibles for packs, etc... Grinding HUT had this purpose for me as a f2p player, I would upgrade my team through pulls, sell big pulls for cards I really wanted ... Opening cool packs is what HUT is about, how people get to them doesn't/shouldn't matter , BUT , where are THE PACKS?!?!? Have a good day everyone! :)

Is there an argument for the "holding pattern" path where you save all cards/coins/points and cherry pick events as the season progresses? What, other than some "new hotness" cards is the casual f2p player missing out on when you can't really go all in on a whole event and it's rewards without draining your capital or spending real money? I guess "who should you choose" is even more relevant because of that change in HUT event accessibility. Love the content and feel better!

Bonjour from Blighty Sleeves, thanks for all you do for the community. I need some ‘how to’ help. I’m a pretty casual free-to-play offline player (All-Star on SB). When my player is pinned to the board fighting for the puck, what am I supposed to do? Is it a case of button mashing or is there a specific button/move I should be using here? I’m looking forward to your strategies video. Hoping you show us some good plays we can set up in the offensive third. I tend to cycle the puck in the hope that eventually something opens up but there’s no real method to it. It would also be great to see some tips for breaking the puck out - I’m your typical casual noob who just tries to race up the boards so a better idea of how to skate/pass my way through the middle etc would be ideal. Hi stream! 3 part comment 1. As a work from home person whos been grinding HUt. Im on pace to get eichel saturday and it has not been worth it. The only advantage is ill have him for when i get back to rivals but imo not worth the many many many many hours of squad battles i had endured 2. Content is a mix bagged this year. Theres some wins like tuesdays content and being able to make cards we want like TOTW but these sets are too expensive and we have no fodder for them and the lack of fodder as well 3. sleeves mentioned the insane cossa jump in price, he was recording this who should you choose live on stream. At the time 82s were 12.5 and many up. 4 hours after posting this episode, the cheapest is 15k. Just a friendly reminder any market mention in sleeves twitch chat or here will raise the price of cards

One thing you could have added with the question on making makar now and saying there was a timer on it is that players should keep the 82 cover athletes so they will have 6 instead of 1 to finish the week 2 objectives of cover athletes. You suggest to sell everything and use your coins. But do you think there’s gonna be an event soon enough that will save the market and make my cards and coins more valuable. I don’t wanna spend just for the sake of spending when there’s nothing out there yet that I want to chase. But i also don’t wanna sit on all these cards and coins just for them to be worth half as much in a couple months than what they are now.
