Thank you Jai!!!! 🥰🥰🥰 Hubby and I are on our way out the door, finally out of quarantine, going to raise a glass in memory of my Daddy's birthday at his favorite pub in Fort Worth! He would have been 84 years old today and, if he were here, we would be going to that pub to have a whiskey and soda water for his birthday. This was his favorite instrumental and I played it for him every day of the 16 days that he was in hospice before he passed away. He was in a coma the whole time but I know he heard it.

Stevie Ray Vaughan was such an amazing talent, my wife and I saw Stevie in concert in 1989 and 1990, so I was blessed to have seen every song played on RU-vid live and to get to spend time in a personal experience where he spoke so humbled to the crowd and was so appreciative of his fans. Exemely sad for me because almost one month later he was killed in the helicopter crash, which made it feel so much more personal since we had just spent an amazing night watching Stevie shread. Stevie wrote this song for his wife Lenny. One day they were walking down the street when Stevie spotted a guitar in a store window. He wanted it so bad, but at this time they had very little money, so he gave up. Later, Lenny secretly put together as much money as she could and with the help of friends managed to get enough money to purchase the guitar that Stevie wanted so badly. When she gave it to him, he was so grateful and so overcome with emotion, that while she slept that night he stayed up and wrote this song, "Lenny" to express his gratitude and love for her.

First time landing on your channel and it is obvious you have a genuine soul connection and appreciation for the blues and recognize excellence when you hear it! Thank you for this and shout out to your requester as well. As great as this is, and it is, my favorite version of Lenny was performed on his Toyko tour.
