🤘🤘🤘 Today, Spanish Pop Singer Reacts to ... Metallica! 🤘🤘🤘
Hello friends! Her first time listening to Metallica. The song we selected was the studio version of 'One' . This is her first time reaction to this song and I really hope you enjoy it!

00:00 - [ Intro ]
00:44 - [ Reaction ]

-------------------------------------------------
"One" is a true metal anthem, released on the album "...And Justice for All" in 1988. This song stands out for its energetic rhythm, powerful guitar riffs, and an emotionally charged lyrical narrative that makes it an unforgettable musical experience.
As the song begins, Mika will encounter an atmospheric and melancholic introduction, characteristic of Metallica's unique style. Soon, the song will take off into a storm of riffs and an unrelenting rhythm section, pushing the boundaries of her musical comfort zone.
James Hetfield's vocals in "One" are a force of nature. Mika will be impressed by the intensity and passion he conveys as she immerses herself in the dark and profound story told by the lyrics. The lyrics speak of loss of identity and the suffering caused by war, evoking deep reflection in our singer.
The song's middle section features a virtuosic guitar solo performed by the talented Kirk Hammett. Mika will be amazed by Hammett's skill and dexterity, and she will undoubtedly be swept away by the emotional power the solo exudes.
With their characteristic style, Metallica creates an epic and high-energy atmosphere in "One". The combination of introspective lyrics, instrumental force, and the band's musical mastery results in an unparalleled auditory experience.
Join Mika on this fascinating reaction as she discovers the intensity and beauty of Metallica's "One". Get ready for an emotional rollercoaster, from introspective tranquility to an explosive display of musical prowess.
'One' Metallica Lyrics
I can't remember anything
Can't tell if this is true or dream
Deep down inside I feel to scream
This terrible silence stops me
Now that the war is through with me
I'm waking up, I cannot see
That there's not much left of me
Nothing is real but pain now
Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh, please God, wake me
Back in the womb, it's much too real
In pumps life that I must feel
But can't look forward to reveal
Look to the time when I'll live
Fed through the tube that sticks in me
Just like a wartime novelty
Tied to machines that make me be
Cut this life off from me
Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh, please God, wake me
Now the world is gone, I'm just one
Oh, God, help me
Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh, please God, help me
Darkness imprisoning me
All that I see, absolute horror
I cannot live, I cannot die
Trapped in myself
Body, my holding cell
Landmine has taken my sight
Taken my speech, taken my hearing
Taken my arms, taken my legs, taken my soul
Left me with life in hell

This song was inspired by the 1971 independent movie "Jonny Got His Gun", which in turn was based by the book "Jonny Got His Gun". It was an anti-war novel set during the first World War. The movie was directed by the novel's writer. Metalica actually bought the rights to this movie so they could continue to show sceens of it as they preform "One" live in concert without having to worry about compensation.

The movie was based on the book Johnny Got His Gun by Dalton Trumbo about WW1. It was one of three books banned for Allied troops to read during WW2. The other two were enemy propaganda. The author was criticized/hated for being defeatist. Not so, just realistic. I believe the title was an ironic reference to an upbeat movie called Johnny Get Your Gun. (Maybe Annie Get Your Gun.)

@@OhMyMole I remember every cassette I ever bought because back then music didn't just fall from the sky like today. Kids then had a small collection of bought full albums, singles, or mixtapes made from radio recordings. If you wanted to hear a song you didn't have on cassette there was no youtube or spotify to find it. We listened to the radio and if the DJ was taking requests we could call in to the station, hope we could get through, request a song then huddle around the radio waiting for it to come on. The other option was watching MTv (they actually played music back then). I remember my dad explaining this video (One) to me when the song debued because I didn't get all the symbolism. Shortly after that I mowed a few lawns in the neighborhood to earn money and pops took me to the record store to buy the Metallica And Justice For All cassette.

I think you were right to follow the story of the song and I could see it on your face during the video. Many songs are more than just the music, the context is important. For example Comfortably numb by Pink Floyd or Hurt by Nine inch nails as well as the.cpver version by Johnny Cash. In the latter case it's basically the same lyrics and melody with some minor adjustments to reflect the differences between Trent Reznor writing it from his perspective and experiences when he was in his late 20s IIRC, whereas Johnny Cash's cover is made from the perspective of someone at the end of his life. Also, Trent Reznor works a lot with sounds/noise in his music in different ways, so in Hurt there's this kind of static in the background which represents the void, and the distorted sounds are there for a reason as well as how he intentionally breaks musical "rules" and avoids a release after build up in some places. All to make the listener feel a bit uncomfortable since that's part of the song and feeling he's trying to communicate.

Metallica made the song based on the book. When they decided to make a video for it they found out that a movie had been made based on the book. They started getting clips from it and found that it was cheaper to buy the rights to the whole movie than to pay per clip, so they did. Now if you buy a physical copy of the movie this video is included with it.

What was is like then. Imagine having a friend who is like hey check this out. Literally on a record player. You're in his mom's house you two go to the attic and he starts jamming this. Now back then just imagine being use to what was hype at that time then just hearing this album. Those are times many of us would love to live through. Just remember the time. Slayer also destroyed the metal scene. Put yourself in that time.

En caso no hay nadie decirlo, la peli en la que se basa esta cancion es una historia real de un soldato Norte Americano de WW1. Este es el precio de la guerra. It's good to see a couple of Gen Z wake up to real life. Just don't blow it off.
@davidhabert
@davidhabert Год назад
I don't know if any of you have seen the movie "Johnny got his gun". If not I strongly recommend that you do but I warn you now, it's very disturbing. Metallica did a great job in describing the "true" horrors of what WW1 was like. Trust me, I've have seen things that when I was younger no kid should ever see. I have family that live near Verdun, France. (which is like America's version of Gettysburg) There is an ossuary near the town of Douaumont and I've seen skulls of unknown solders, there are areas of that part of France called "Zone Rouge". You are not allowed to visit it because there are still unexploded landmines, bombs, human and animal remains. Some of the ground in "Zone Rouge" is still contaminated with traces of chemicals that were used during WW1. If you haven't been to that area of France, I suggest you do but be prepared with what you will see because it mirrors exactly what it's like in this Metallica video. It's not pretty. Even though I can only imagine what it was like during WW1, but with this video that Metallica did coupled with what I've seen visiting my family in Verdun, seeing the relics and artifacts first hand. Trust me when I say that "this hits home" and on some occasions it still hurts.

Hi, friend! Thank you very much for sharing this information with us. 'One' is an excellent song and the video clip relates in a very crude way what war means. In some parts of the world this kind of thing continues. Hopefully the day will come where we never have to live something like this again. Greetings from Argentina! 🤘

i believe the movie is based on a true story. a the man was hit by a mortar and lost both arms and legs and part of his face and was begging for death. the doctor in the beging said if i knew how bad he was i would not have permitted him to live.

The concept for the song came from a dream that Hetfield had, based on being a brain and nothing else. He described the dream to Cliff Burnstein who in turn suggested that he read the novel, "Johnny Got His Gun". After they decided to create a music video (their very first) they decided that instead of paying royalties for the use of the movie, "Johnny Got His Gun," they purchased the rights to the entire movie.

Hello Arthur! Thanks for your comment. Yeah! In Argentina chimarrão is called "Mate". ☺It is similar, only that the Argentine erva mate is different from the Brazilian, Uruguayan or Paraguayan. You can notice that James Hetfield, in his concerts, takes "Mate" because of his ex-wife who was from Argentina and he instilled it in his habits haha 🤣 Greetings from Argentina!

Immerse yourself in the world of unearthly voice. I recommend making a reaction to one of the best vocalists in the world. Meet Diana Ankudinova! 1) super unique voice (dramatic contralto with polyphonic overtones); 2) the most complex vocal techniques, a bewitching voice; 3) Diana sings in 6 languages : English, French, Russian, German, Spanish, Arabic and any musical genre; 4) incredible charisma, artistry and living of any song; 5) a range of 4 octaves, which at the age of 19 is far from the limit and will continue to grow; 6) a large army of fans around the world; 7) an independent artist, without producers and labels, only with the support of fans and reactors like you; 8) more than 15 thousand reactions. Some reactions have 3.6 million views. The incredible fate of a girl found with a broken collarbone at a bus stop and ended up in an orphanage.

Maybe it's time to meet 5 beautiful ladies in high heels and dresses playing classic heavy metal? For starters, I recommend the song Break the Wall from their earlier albums. Boasting over 70 hit singles, they won Best New Metal Band at the Metal Hammer Awards in 2018. The girls play heavy, thrash, power and prog metal, they also have some beautiful ballads - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5Pc0XK0lNmU.html
