I don't think you know what the word scam means, you might be envious that they are making money from something you aren't but it doesn't mean they are scamming.

@@wyterabitt2149 No it's totally a scam. The listing is advertising a 4k gaming capable system. The one delivered to Austin can't even run fortnite properly. They also make false claims about pricing. For example they claim if you outfit the same rig on pcpartpicker it would be $4000 dollars when it's more around the 2k mark with a scalped card and the 1.5k mark with a non scalped card. It's clearly misleading and fraudulent.

There's the direct definition of the word "scam", and while it might be a bit of a bold claim...It does kind of ring true here. The guy oversold his "artistic" ability by a quite a far margin, and well...misled his customer, whether intentionally or not, into thinking he was going to get a completely different end-product. It might not intentional or mean-spirited, but the end result is the same. He sold something that was not what was promised, not by a far shot. But as for the actual pricing on the parts, IMO if the seller really did send out an itemized invoice on the parts and went over it with the customer before any purchases, which seems like the case from the messages in the video...Well, then you can't really blame the seller for that. That, and the fact that pricing and availability IS legitimately all over the place, especially during the time the purchase was being made. So, while the pricing thing is completely subjective (I personally would never pay that much but that's just me), it's up to the customer to do their own research and decide if it's worth the money...The whole "customization" aspect (which was the main selling point!) of this product is what IMHO makes this purchase a rip-off/scam.

I think your forgot that they make their money on everything in the video. It blows my mind when people think “this youtuber actually spend $3000 out of his own pocket” no, no they don’t. They spend $3000 out of the budget for their overhead which is then credited off their taxes. I understand you may not be familiar with how youtubers make money but I want to warn you. Every single item in a youtubers video is paid for within their tax write offs, thats how they make money. No youtuber actually spends money from their own bank account. Shit these youtubers can even write a contract to promote an item. In other words, Austin contacts etsy seller, tells etsy seller your item will be viewed by X amount of people on youtube, etsy person sends pc for video, youtuber never paid a dollar for it.
