My favorite part of this story is how the author includes biblical figures without straight up saying so. Like how TD is the Devil and the four agents are the four horsemen of the apocalypse.
So what were the monsters in the cages? A vampire, succubus, lizard person or alien (oxygen tank means they aren't used to the atmosphere here) Lisa is Betty's cousin which if you remember was one of the little girls that started the Salem witch trials. Supposedly the girls were possessed or Bewitched. So Lisa is probably possessed and her doll is likely her familar or a demon taking the form of a doll. The guy with the long hair is probably meant to represent Samson from the Bible who had immense strength as long as his hair was kept long but he said he was born in the 1800s so maybe it's just a genetic super power and his kryptonite is cutting his hair. The religious Mary's are probably just normal people that for whatever reason have some power to make their prayers come true, like witches probably. As for Chad he was born right as the nuclear bombs were dropped so he's possibly some type of radioactive mutant and the green liquid he drinks is probably radioactive something as well. That leaves the guy with coins for eyes. Perhaps he's a zombie or some sort of reanimated/undead corpse? Coins were placed on the eyes of the dead to keep them closed for hundreds of years. Nowdays they just sew the eyes of the dead shut. Idk he's the only one I don't have much theories for. He doesn't need to eat or drink, he can somehow read with coins for eyes and he doesn't feel pain. I also think the security guard is a monster because he doesn't remember his life before his job and he says he can't remember before he started writing things down, he ate human meat for hours and hours and loved it. He also has some type of psychic ability since he and the other monsters are the only ones who can see the doll most of the time and he had that vision of himself on the ceiling perhaps he's a wendigo or something like that. Anyway I would love to hear your guys theories and thoughts on the monsters
I read them all as particularly dangerous Transgressions against God, continually reborn in new incarnations. Supernatural creatures like a Succubus or vampire (perhaps representing recklessly greedy humans) preying on his creations. Mary and the Samson guy being those who've forsaken his gifts or perverted their god's name for murderous Zealotry. A Witch and her familiar and a reference to Charon (Ferryman of the Dead) for those who lead themselves or others astray from God's order. And the last two were Humanity using science to make themselves into Gods, Like Nuclear Weapons (Green Toxic Liquid) and the newest cage being made for Space Flight (Hence the Alien-esque thing with Oxygen Tanks) I can't completely speak to how human the guard was, but it's worth pointing out, the agent they sent to watch him was F. He was literally trapped in a room with Famine itself, and kept asking to be let out to find food, becoming more desperate. So...
Sherry Kachika I'm thinking the security guard may have started becoming a wendigo, even if not cannibalism is frowned upon pretty much worldwide, that alone would be a huge sin. Why they left Famine in charge of him, however, if beyond me. Seems like he was doomed
@@cyberspinosaur1145 Honestly, go ahead and try to choose another one of the four horsemen you'd rather be locked in a room with. I believe famine was just the coolest dude and the one that was least likely to kill the poor dude. And about the wendigo thing, they were giving Mary(?) raw meat because she was a zombie or something, but in the end they were giving the guard cooked meat and water so he was apparently still human. Idk, imo the author thought it was already pretty hard to explain that the devil would hire a random dude to watch over abominations so he left it open to interpretations by ending on a "any human can be seen as a monster" kinda note, which is cool with me.
I was intrigued by the theories, looked into a lot of ideas, this was what I got theory wise. I cling onto the nine circles of hell idea really quick, thinking maybe they aren’t in a specific order? The obvious ones in my mind, are the following, Cassie, Lust Bob, Greed Mary, Heresy, assuming that the nuns did things similar to the one in the story, acquiring money for the church in wrong ways Lissa, Violence, Bill, Wrath Honestly those two could easily be swapped Then the next two I feel I fit together enough to make sense Chad, being Fraud, considering his appearance of high social standing, perhaps buying himself into a position, his inability to talk, and the black ooze possibly being tar? On of the many punishments in this circle is being thrown into a pit of tar The Storyteller/ninth cage, being betrayal, for abandoning his position, attacking his boss, who just happened to be satan The only others are Fred not really fitting either remaining circles of Limbo or Gluttony, and Earl, who was heavily referenced to being Samson, a biblical hero Any thoughts? My only other idea is that the story teller just works for a gas station and took some shrooms or something

His lore is a little vague to me but I do know that he is an eldritch godlike being who wants to enslave the human race. He's an enemy to other gods of the mythos because they want to kill humans which contradicts his goal. The nun was a fanatic cultist of Hastur

Cerberus the guardian of the gates of the underworld. The four horsemen Famine, War, Plague and finally their leader Death. this story had a lot of thought put into it. In my opinion it's one of the best stories I've listened to, and MrCreepyPasta such a great reading. 10/10

makes sense though, if you think about it. the 'people' in the cages were monsters, inhuman creatures, and by the maddening hunger, the memory loss, and the uncontrollable feasting on human flesh it seemed the narrator was beginning to turn full Windigo

I haven't seen it yet but heres my short theory as I think everybody has got everything else. The 7 cages at first were for the 7 sins, then 9 cages for the 9 circles of hell.

Hastur is referenced in a few of the stories about that world. hastur has no true shape , but is always tentecales and wearing yellow. he is talked about in many of the novels. FUCKING PRICLESS!!!!

8 might be all the experiments to make people live longer. The gene splicing, bringing back extinct animals, cloning, elongating life beyond the norm, general meddling in gods work. And 9 well, when you dance with the devil, he calls the tune. He said he could go free when the others are caught, but he must help him. Cant work out what that's about so it looks like he'll be there for good.
Definitely written by a redditor. Guarantee he looked at a "most fucked up movies" thread over on ask Reddit to come up with all of those movies. The movies he mentioned are always the same ones that get posted over and over again in those threads.
