@@Sam-0827 im really late to this comment, but after comparing youtube video reactions to lorraine's decision from the girls and the gays vs. straight guys*, it's interesting that straight guys almost never understand why lorraine decides to do a scene in the movie and they always side with RJ a lot more. RJ dragged her out to an adult film shoot without her knowledge, shamed her when she said she felt uncomfortable, and acted like she was dumb when she was asking how the others separated love and sex. cheating's a dealbreaker imo, but i can see why she rebelled like that *caveat on straight guys cus its an assumption based on how they're always like "if my girl did that..." i obviously don't know 100% how they all identify

As to why they had to sneak around: This film was set at the end of the 1970s when adult video content had only just started getting popular in the US, so moral outrage was high and public opinion of porn stars was LOW. It was a smart move financially, but the social backlash could be nasty for all of them, so they had to be careful. (Never mind the fact that they were shooting *interracial* porn during a time of civil rights reform for PoC.)
The lead actress is Mia Goth and they’re actually gonna make a prequel about Pearl! They showed the teaser after the credits when I saw it in theaters and it looks so twisted
honestly one of the best modern made slashers ive seen in a long time! also the reason why all of a sudden lorraine (jenna ortega) wanted to be in the film after seeming in disgust about it was because she never knew about it and was so like repressed from her sexuality and temptations and in this space she finally felt comfortable to express her desires and shit.
mia goth finally getting the scream queen title! so happy for her. she always gets sidelined in horror movies. i really loved her performance in suspiria as she was more the main character than susie bannion herself.
I'm still having a hard time seeing Mia Goth as both Maxine AND Pearl because the make-up job they did to make her look like an old woman is waaaay too good!
I felt your pain watching this movie because none of them were thinking! When I watched this film I was getting mad annoyed at how they walked into their deaths 🙄 except for the final girl though she was the only one with common sense 😓

The strangeness of it isn't the issue, it's that it drags on for a very long time without anything happening and the dialogue isn't good enough to keep you engaged during significant gaps. I mean, maybe it was for you. But it's not a good movie for review purposes, because it's almost three hours long and only offers a handful of scenes where there is anything happening to react to.
Even though this movie is scary as absolute all heck. You are so entertaining and have me cracking up laughing the ENTIRE time.! Lol! Thank you for always bringing such joy. I hope you found out that the actor thst plays Maxine also played the old lady and in the Prequel that’s jsut come out the same actor plays the old lady as a teenager so apparently she looked just like Maxine as a young girl which makes so much sense if you look back at this movie, like her husbands face when he saw Maxine the first time and the boyfriend said to stop looking at her like that becasue she’s his fiancé , he was seeing his wife the same age when he fell in love with her. You should react to this korean horror movie called The Wailing. Its really good. It has alot of plot twist's in my opinion. But definitely worth watching. If you are looking to watch some horror shows i also recommend this korean horror drama thats on netflix called The Guest.
