Very true. Right or left, it's a silly discussion to have. There's only 24 hours in a day, so there's a hard reality limit on how much you can work. Most people also need a bit of sleep and rest here and there, so that cuts it down even more. The only sensible standard is that if you work a full time job, even the lowest paid and worst one, you should be able to live off it. Not luxuriously, but you should be able to afford the basics. Now we can haggle over what constitutes "full time", "lowest paid", "worst job", "live off", "luxuriously" etc. but those are details, that detract from the principle of it. People that put in the effort of a full time job, regardless of skills, abilities and levels, deserve to be able to live off it. Heck, that standard might even create a higher employment rate. And we can go further and say that people that can no longer work full time, can work what they can... and we can help them out with the rest. And those that can't work at all, those we can help.

Inflation is like acceleration. Accelerating slower still means you're speeding up, just not as quickly. Likewise lower inflation means the prices increase, just not as rapidly. You'd need deflation for prices to (maybe) drop in general.

Inflation, the rate of change of prices, is indeed down. From my personal experience, grocery prices have gone down a little as well. It’s probably higher than it was in 2020, but we massively invested in our economy to avoid a terrible recession from shutting down the world economy for a year. Sure prices are higher, but it’s better than 10% unemployment.
