While his wife, Kim (Regina King), brings home the bacon, unemployed Charlie (Eddie Murphy) spends his days caring for the couple's young son. With help from a friend, Phil (Jeff Garlin), Charlie decides to start a day care center. Enrollment quickly surges, and, as they add another employee, goofy Marvin (Steve Zahn), Charlie finds himself dealing with endless red tape. Will he be able to keep the business afloat, or will parents defect to Mrs. Harridan's (Anjelica Huston) day care center?

34:31 as a former daycare worker and a current paraprofessional, this hurt my heart to hear. Daycares are meant to be flexible learning facilities for young, growing minds. Having learning disabilities shouldn’t have you discriminated against, I hope your daughter is doing better 💛

33:45 as a kid, these scenes go right over your head, but at an adult they hit so hard. Getting encouraged by your spouse is an amazing feeling, love that scene. Oh hey, The actor who played Marvin was in a movie called Strange Wilderness, that’s a good watch if you find the time 😂 Also, Day 1,357 of asking reactors to watch Fried Green Tomatoes ❤

My mom loved this movie! She's a teacher but not always in school, when I was in high school she started home schooling other kids who often were kids struggling in school. She did go back into the classroom later, but is now in early retirement homeschooling kids again :)

Oh Man i almost forgot i saw this in theaters when i was 11 at the time. I loved it a lot and loved Eddie Murphy, Tho my first introduction to him was him playing Mushu from Mulan. I manage to buy it on DVD 2 years ago for the first time. Its one of my favorites ^^ Chapman Academy (the school in the film) was shot in this House down the street in my old neighborhood. unsure what it is but i did see some movie sets around there a few times.

My husband and I we always talk to me before he goes out and does anything. he won't just go out and buy stuff or do stuff without talking with me first. We share everything, I'd support it if in this situation he opens a day care like they did. See he just went out and did it and didn't talk to his wife at all until after she saw what he brought and what he was up too. Afterwards. So, honestly, I like that I have an open Commumication with my husband and we make big decisions together.

Balancing the checkbook. Basically, you have a paper copy of all your transactions and you make sure that the checkbook where you write it all down, matches what your bank shows online, and if there are transactions missing, you figure out what they are and why they haven't shown yet. It is essentially you tracking all the money you spend as you spend it to make sure you are aware of your spending and account balance.

Basically, it is a semi obsolete means of keeping track of your money from a day and age when most transactions took a few days to clear a bank account but some people still use it as some transactions take a few days, but most things come out shortly after you have completed the transaction.

As an adult, my three favorite Eddie Murphy movies are Vampire in Brooklyn, Harlem Nights, and The Golden Child. Movies that are kid friendly that me and my daughter love Eddie Murphy in is Daddy Day Care, Dr. Dolittle, and Shrek. I'm a single mom and I've been fortunate to work for a company that allows me to work different hours depending on my kids school hours. Elementary started before I had to be at work but I took a later lunch and used it to pick her up. When she started middle school, now that really was inconvenient but they worked with me. But we loved this movie and have seen it numerous times.

The last I heard, the exchange rate between the Canadian dollar and the American dollar is .75/1.25. I'm sure there are other factors determining the difference in cost, like expense to the provider and public funding and fun things like that.
