You probably can guess, but the books/fanfic are so much worse 😭 in the book, the bet that Hardin made was to take Tessa's virginity and show the proof (condoms and the sheet) to his friends, and guess what? He does it. Even after saying he "loves" her, he has sex with her, he keeps the sheets with blood from her first time, shows it to his friends AND accepts money for it (because he won the bet). It was the most disturbing thing I have ever read. Of course Tessa forgives him, because he cries in front of her or whatever, and he keeps being an asshole in the other books, one time Hardin finds out Tessa kissed Zed (when they were not together), so he goes to Zed and beats the shit out of him, breaks his nose, causes damage to the university's laboratory (and gets away with it), he calls her a whore more than once, is always breaking stuff when they fight, in one scene she KNEELS in front of him to beg for his forgiviness (don't remember if that's only in the fanfiction and not in the book for obvious reasons, but it's there)...awful.

my friends and i are in a toxic relationship with this franchise. every time there is a new movie we experience the torment together. there’s yelling and joking and bad wig choices and after it’s always like “wow! that was really bad and im mad now!” 10/10 bonding do recommend

When I first moved to Atlanta I didn’t know anyone and thought it would be fun to be an extra and I ended up doing it for the first after movie and man, it was rough. I was there for like 12 hours through the night for the truth or dare party scene and the cast was “intense” to be around. Khadijha was so kind and genuine though.

I wish ppl knew how much worse the toxic relationship in the original watt pad can fiction was… reading the og at 12 years old makes me feel like a veteran and was definitely not good for my developing brain 😭 also the mom situation is so much darker in the original- (trigger warning for SA) he literally sees her get um gang***** as a kid and it is way more graphic and detailed in the description than it needed to be…And now looking back I’m like why would that be used as a way to humanize HIM????

It’s crazy because Hero Fiennes Tiffin’s accent was basically the same as a child when he played young Voldemort in the flashbacks. Both these roles have clear undertones of malevolent evil.

I remember watching the first one in theater with my friends on my birthday 😂 we laughed through the whole thing because it’s just so funny. I know it’s not trying to be and that makes it even funnier. When we were leaving I realized there had been two 12-13 year old girls sitting behind us and let me tell you if looks could kill we’d all be six feet under… I’ve watched every single one of these in theaters with my friend (yes I paid actual money to put myself through these) and at this point they’re starting to be more frustrating than funny. We almost cried when we realized there’d be one more film 😭 but we’re committed to this experience now so we’ll go see that one too. Pray for our sanity

My friend and I decided to get drunk and binge watch the entire series for the laughs, and only after we were both blind drunk did these movies make sense. Harden trying to burn his mother's house down could only be understood after you've had 16 fireball shots. Highly recommend
