I Watched The Old Republic In 0.25x Speed and This is What I Found 

*Oh, the good old days... days when I was still Canon.*

"Who is this? Please be a bounty hunter!" That's not just a bounty hunter, that's the Mandalorian known as Shae Vizla, or "Mandalore the Avenger", one of the most badass fighters in Mandalorian history.

As someone who played SWTOR years back, this looks way too good to be cinematic for the game, since the game is a WOW type of game, with the gameplay being far from looking like this or STFO

"I find your lack of old republic knowledge, disturbing"

The Star Wars Old Republic book, Deceived, lays out this scene in detail and how they used the force to enhance their strength, speed and agility. I really enjoyed having the details and seeing the fight scene as well! Awesome stuff!

The Sith Order soldiers' armor is so cool, so different.

I love these animations from the old republic , I remember I was three years old and my father and I watched these trailers and talked a lot , he translated everything , since we are not from the USA , I was floating about what the characters said , and my father translated everything. The coolest one is the soldier who uses the repeater blaster.

My head canon as to why people go flying when hit with a lightsaber is that they are using the force to try to push themselves away (like how they do crazy acrobatics) from the opponents lightsaber but due to the lack of being alive they just fly off almost aimlessly. Notices how those that are not force sensitive just fall over like normal people when hit as oppose to those wielding lightsabers. Maybe if someone understands what I am saying they can word it better haha

You should put some easter eggs in those videos that are only visible when you watch in 0.25 speed.

at 4:35 as far as i can remember from my nolidge that was a mandalorian and it was ment to show how the mandalorians got back the dark saber in the jedi temple if im correct

I love how the one trooper that tackles Malgus and detonates a grenade in his face became one of the most badass characters in all of 5 minutes.

Old Republic movie, series or game with modern graphic would be amazing. This era is just way better than sequels, you have unique ships, jedi vs siths in greater scale, no rule of two and in sequels is just copy of empire in every way.

I think the thing Malgus hit when fighting the guy behind the transport is his hood which probably has cortosis woven into it, and he hits it and caused sparks. Cortosis weave stops glancing lightsaber hits but doesn't shut them down like chunks of cortosis do.

“I wana be in this and do this.” Well good news as you mentioned moments before it is a game and while it isn’t exactly like this you can play it

I think what helps the most is that this is, from what I know, entirely CGI. You make your own world, anything can happen. With real-life and practical, you have so many limits to struggle with.

Imagine a HUGE movie with EVERY STAR WARS movies and shows with the deleted scenes and all of that with the good time set on the timeline and time gap messages! Like the acolyte, 200 years later, the fantom menace

Please do the other Old Republic cinematics, they are so wicked and having you go through and over analyzing them with such joy and excitement brings me such happiness. :)

on the scene where he smacks malgus in the face with his hilt; ive always though itd be a good idea to have the pommel of the hilt be a secondary emitter, not for a full blade, but like a saber dagger or something. if he had that, then that would have been the end of malgus right then and there. edit: yes im aware dual sabers/ saber staffs exist, but what im talking about is just a normal scaled lightsaber hilt, but with a small secondary emitter where the pommel should be.

Please also do the other cinematics as well. There are I think 2 left, and those two are awesome to rewatch!

I think the tiny things are debree from the crash. You can see it floating in the air during the fight.

Current SWTOR Player and have played off and on for over a decade. Hands down one of the best, most layered games out there. But but nothing beats SWTOR Cinematics

I think many of us Star Wars fans when we found out Disney were planning on making more Star Wars movies set before the Prequels we thought they were going to make a saga or at least a series like the Mandalorian but about the Old Republic and the Jedi wars against the Sith Empire before Darth Bane created the rule of 2. I don’t know what other fans opinions are and they might agree with me but they might also disagree with me but I personally would love to see Darth Malgus on the big screen and also Reven/Darth Reven. If that is impossible for Disney to do as they have removed them from Canon or something then they could base something that takes place during Reven and Malgus’s Era. Another Era that I would also love to see is the Era of the Eternal Empire of Darth Vitiate/Valkorion.

Then he just flicked it to jedi ven zallow But i just love malgus combat style. You can also see the difference. The jedi looks serene almost flowing with their lightsaber and malgus is just rage, fury.

"Weight" is the word that kept coming to my mind. These blows feel impactful, like there's strength and ferocity behind them.

4:45 The name of this particular bounty hunter is Mandalore the Avenger. Born as Shae Vizla. Sound familiar? Her last name is similar to that of clan Vizsla in the Clone Wars Era. Her name is missing the 'S' though which unfortunately leaves it up for debate whether she is an ancestor or related to Tor or Pre Vizsla. There is no confirmation by Bioware or the developers if she is connected to them. Although interesting tidbit, the French and German version of the game actually spells her surname as Vizsla officially which is why fans firmly believe she is the one who cements Clan Vizsla in the rest of the Canon universe.

that 10 minute mark dust flying thing, it looks like the sith lord (Darth Malgus i think) swept up some of the temple floor, you can see the gouge by his foot a couple frames later...he basically did a sith version of pocket sand

At 10:00 I think that he wanted to hit his back, but hit his Force barrier/shield instead. Every Force user has like a Force shield around them - some stronger, some weaker - simmillar to the Tutaminis technique that Yoda used to absorb and deflect Dooku's and Sidious's Force Lightning and Vader in the dining room to deflect Han's blaster fire. And of course Satele Shan in the SWTOR cinematic catches a lightsaber with only her hand.

Just start doing ALL of TOR scenes. From start to finish.

In every cinematic he's in, Malgus is an absolute beast. He puts so much power in his lightsaber strikes, you can tell even though it's a cinematic.

You should watch in 0.25x speed, the battle of Grievous vs the Jedi in the 2003 2D Clone Wars Micro series. That series needs to be shown more love.

I think at 9:51 bare with me on this I think some of the rubble on the ground was on his lightsaber when he swung it and it became particles to blind the Jedi. Kinda like when people kick dirt in your face in fighting

Temple guard because since the War has been going on for so long and has been so crazy majority of their Jedi force is fighting! And what’s left is a few masters (I think) 1 or 2 Jedi council members, a handful of Jedi knights, a bunch of Jedi apprentices and a good deal of Jedi Padawan’s!

Malgus is considered to be one of the strongest Sith in the SWTOR era. (Not the strongest, but one of), so even though this takes place 10 years before the start of SWTOR (iirc), Malgus was using a lot of strength to kill his foes. The Jedi fighting Malgus is Ven Zallow, one of the most renowned Jedi Battlemasters of the time and Malgus' most renowned kill during the Sacking of Coruscant. Even more, Ven Zallow was so renowned, it was such a accomplisment to have killed Ven Zallow. More so than Kao Cen Darach (The Zabrak Jedi Battlemaster in the Return cinematic)! Gives you insight into how strong Malgus was. 11:19 Those ships, droids and troops, are from the Sith Empire. The larger ones are called Harrowers and the ships flying around are called Mark VI Supremacy-class starfighters. Harrowers are VERY large and well equipped. SWTOR is such a fascinating source of information regarding Star Wars. I love it so much! In regards to your comments about the sequels... I loved the sequels! I found them so entertaining and beautiful! We all can have different opinions, some may like it, others may not. I respect your opinion.

I have to say the old republic is my favorite era in the Star Wars universe you have revan Nilus and I love the cinematics they are so good

First of all I can't wait for the gungan battle. Second of all I completely understand that these cinematics are just beautiful. Lastly I love this 0.25 speed series and I'd love to see more. But not the sequel trilogy, I just want to ignore those Also please make an animation of All of the deleted scenes of 66 that would be really cool and I would love to see it too

The tiny tick things are probably sparks or pieces of smoke/ember. Leftover from the crashed shuttle in the temple methinks. That's my guess.

6:47 I think that wasn't a kick. The Jedi actually swiped and slashed his saber upwards. Like an uppercut punch, that Sith in the background got flipped backwards. 7:22 It's crazier too because the Jedi and Sith were literally at war for thousands of years. These skills in the Prequel Era were deteriorating but still showing Jedi at the height of their powers and skills. By the Original Trilogy, the forms were nearly lost. Now everyone in the Sequel Trilogy just swing swing hit or misses. :P 9:54 At normal speed, I always thought it was Malgus' lightsaber striking the armor during the fancy flip. At slowed speed, I guess not?? The droids at the end and the fighters... Mmm, maybe you playing the game and reading up the descriptions will be fun. The Old Republic utilized a lot of designs from the movies and the original designs from the art department that never made it into the final films. And of course, they had to make ship designs, droids, fighters, and a lot of things reminiscent of what we grew up watching from the films but couldn't exactly use the same designs since the Old Republic is thousands of years before Darth Vader. So the designs look so similar, slightly altered, but at the same time, really cool. There is also a running joke that a lot of lightsaber enthusiasts like to share as well. Notice how when we get more Star Wars cinematics in timelines before the Prequel trilogies, the more you go back in time, the lightsaber duels get better. XD

Ok this is the in game cinematic but the trailer version has better dialog which goes like this: "Our time has come. For 300 years, we prepared. We grew stronger. While you rested in your cradle of power, believing your people were safe… protected. You were trusted to lead the Republic but you were deceived, as our powers over the dark side had blinded you. You assumed no force could challenge you and now… finally… we have returned. You were deceived. And now your Republic will fall."

The "tiny things" might be their battle droids, like droidekas but much heavier and unable to rotate.

Am I late on this vid? yes. Do I have something I want to point out? Also yes. When the jedi does the punch to the face, you can actually see his fist recoil from the impact, it's hard to notice in full speed, but without it it likely woulda taken away from it. Beautiful

Man I still wish that the old republic was canon instead of the dumpster fire that is high republic. When I first saw this trailer I was like “this is nice… why are modern Star Wars games not like this???” Man I miss the days we’re legends was still canon.

3:55 Temple security guards. Some non force-users, military from the Republic's finest, or loyal troopers were asked or often commissioned/requested by the Jedi to protect them and fight alongside them. In fact, Star Wars Battlefront 2, the original one actually showcased the 501st battling not just Jedi but the temple security forces in blaster fights and what not. I don't think the new canon showcases the temple security guards at all. But the original Legends and original Battlefront 2 created and implied that there were security guards that didn't use lightsabers. Otherwise, the Order 66 levels would have been your 501st clonetrooper facing off against hundreds of jedi NPCs charging you. That might have made the whole level a horror one instead of the great Jedi Purge. XD
