After working on a hot summer day, I decided to take the kayak out to my local pond and fly fish for largemouth bass and pumpkinseed.

This used to be one of the best bass lakes around. Covid and residents of Richmond killed all the big fish. 30 years ago this lake had dinner plate sized crappies. Hopefully it will rebound in years to come.

@@northleftdirt1122 well, this place only had sunfish, and also had no bass in it for quite awhile as it would dry up COMPLETELY in summer…. I think you’re mistaking this pond for Latimer/ stokes pit

@@LifeOfLindaLee nope it’s about 8 blocks from stokes. I have pictures of 4 pound bass prior to Covid. Someone put bass in this lake around 2010

@@northleftdirt1122 so they did get big. Perfect. I’ve heard rumours, I knew the sunfish were in there before the bass cause j would go there as a kid, But yeah lately no biggins being pulled out.

Look at you .....Oh Bass Gotcha ....I'm thinking as you were shouting out if someone from a distance is listening may think you're saying something else LOL. You can cast better sitting in a Kayak than I can standing LOL. The fish may not have been big but they were plentiful. I was thinking the same thing on that sunfish with the hook, did someone tie a bad knot? or was that were the line broke? Great evening out Hope you have a great week
