I went thrift store shopping for Christmas Home Decor items
Come thrift store shopping with me and get a sneak peek of where I am with some of our Christmas decorations as I get ready for my Christmas home tour 2020. This will include some of our Christmas trees, such as our kitchen Christmas tree, that are decorated with homemade, thrift items, and some Hobby Lobby finds. I'm having so much fun decorating our antique home with antique and vintage Christmas decor that looks perfect in our old home. I strive to use Traditional Christmas home decor items with a few other design styles mixed in.

Well, this was fun!! I love your decorating. I can't wait to use the sled idea, I put up a snowman tree, that will add to it! I love the colors of the tree in your dining room, just gorgeous! I couldn't believe how empty Hobby Lobby was last week! They were filling upshelves with spring items! Look forward to seeing all the decorations, it's a delight to see all your ideas! Thank you! Btw, the flashing lights are not annoying!

Linda everything is so pretty and just exudes hospitality. I enjoyed all of the small sneak peeks, but the sitting room tree is everything. I love the hat, ribbon and all of the ornaments (the mouse has my heart) it reminds me of a Jeri Landers creation. Just enchanting...thank you for sharing. Kim W.

Oh Linda, you are such a tease. Love the trees. The themes are perfect. Plaid ribbon is just stunning on trees. You add your ribbons so beautifully. Cannot wait until all is completed and you invite us in for your holiday tour. I still don’t buy the led lights. Warm white doesn’t look right in my home. I can tell the difference and it’s just not that warm color. I have a friend who has a store that sells tiny warm lights. Smaller than traditional lights. They are on my mantle all year and I turn them on for special nights or stormy days and of course, the holidays. I like them so much, I bought like 6 strands. So when they burn out. ( once in six years). I just replace them. I did put them on my Christmas tree this year and it gives it a more primitive country look. My tree is a 3 foot artificial that came in a bucket. It’s 3 years old... but is the best artificial tree I have ever had. Everyone thinks it’s a real tree. I got it 3 years ago from Ballard Designs. They don’t have it anymore. Probably because you can set their other small trees in buckets. Anyway, thank you for the sneak peak. Looking forward to the Christmas tour.

First time, I’m seeing your channel, beautiful decorating, and WOW your blessed with having thrift stores like this close by.... I always donate to my local thrift store, usually my items I hand them over, and they put in display ASAP, I usually see people buying them while I’m still in the shop.... love to see items get a second life with another person who feels blessed buying them. Love your tree themes, Tally Ho is just perfect, so talented you are I met Christopher Radco years ago, he signed a Xmas ornament for me, such a wonderful, kind man, I’ll never forget him, he was so humble

To anchor candles which lean or wobble, you might try wrapping the candle bottom ends with scotch or thin strips of duct tape. The tape can't be seen once they are in place in their holders and the candles are very secure after that. Thanks for all you do; you make our holidays brighter.

In Michigan we call them Consignment stores. :) Thrift stores are sometimes called Resale stores. There was a store in my town that was a Thrift store that had a consignment section, and wasn't I sad when it closed! It was really a danger to me, truth be told 😁 Your trees are just lovely. Top hats make me think of A Christmas Carol 🎩

Love that you gave us a peek and not the whole thing.....gives us something to look forward to....love the little fix under the tree. Also the hat for a tree topper. The sitting room is my favorite...I’m so drawn to the wallpaper and paint color. Of course I love all your rooms.🌲❤️

Just beautiful, Linda. I started decorating today, getting a fresh tree, setting up a small artificial tree, and taking down all the fall. Still have garland and lights and so much more to put out. It's a lot of work. You've done a wonderful job. I'm not even sure which tree I like best. They're so great. Can't wait to see your next video.

Love your videos! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and ideas with us! I have been inspired over this last while after watching your dried oranges and pie videos! You are a wonderful antedote to all the covid restrictions we are experiencing here right now. Did you go back and get the black dishes? I hear you about things having to have a purpose. I recently went back to our local thrift store and picked up some vintage green transferware dishes: 3 plates, 4 dessert plates, 3 cups and saucers. I left them there 3 times! Then went home and realized my 'purpose' was of course that green dishes at this time of year are for Christmas! I'm happy that I did go back (with a 20 percent off coupon in hand) and finally purchase them. The plates shine in my antique pine cupboard along with some white ironstone and I put the cups and saucer on my kitchen windowsill with a bit of brown transferware mixed in. I am looking forward to seeing your home decorated for the holidays, take good care!

I really enjoy the glimpses of your house as you decorate! Love seeing your process as you work, and knowing that, like myself, you go "oh why didn't I buy that when I saw it!" 😂 The hat on the Talley Ho room tree is adorable! Thanks for sharing your beautiful Christmas progress. Eager for your review of the Balsam Hill tree. I discovered Hobby Lobby for the first time this year (35 min drive) and was shocked at the volume of Christmas merchandise. Purchased many sprays/picks for my multiple trees & decor @ 50% off. You can buy silicone thimbles that will keep you from burning your fingers when using a hot glue gun. I love them. Thank you for the tour of the stores, whish I lived in your area. Your home looks so festive.

Enjoyed the video. We don't have Consignment Stores in Europe as far as I know. Lots of charity shops though in the U.K. and they've taken off in Spain too where the British are. Never thought of standing the Christmas tree on a sleigh. It's a great idea. Thank you.

Hello Patricia! I love hearing that! Also, I would love to find out more about your last name! I am a Storey (Story) descendant a couple of which were involved in the Salem witch trials and the Boston Tea Party. We might be very distant cousins. ;-). I believe my line, William Story, came from Norwich, England in the 1600's.
