I randomly stumbled on this museum as I was filming another video and thought that I definitely couldn't miss out on my first ever Communist Museum, so I decided to show you guys too. I learned a lot of new things. It was also free to get in, which is rare. What do you think about what you saw here?

Wow, this is some CCP PROPAGANDIST 🐂💩!!!! still trying to decide if this some "white monkey job” or are you a “useful idiot”? you have some serious lying abilities to lecture us about learning history in a whitewashed sanitized propaganda presentation of erasing it… how was the section on the 60 million killed during the great leap forward not by famine but self directed stupidity and man made famine… or the millions of people sent to labor camps for 26 years for writing poetry like Pu Ning or execution for criticizing the government Lin Zhao I bet the Tiananmen massacre section was informative since it DIDNT EXIST IN YOUR VIDEO. Or the current history of Chinese police stations all over the world used to harass and monitor Chinese dissidents. Nothing to see here right both things can be true. china suffered colonialism and the ccp current government has from day 1 treated their population like expendable trash.

I have no vested interest in politics but i have the upmost respect for the countless ordinary men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice to save their homeland. Hey bro…i have watched quite a few westerner travelers’ vlogs. But you are the first I have encountered who is visiting the Museum of the Chinese revolution.kudos to you! Being a Chinese canadian, i so appreciate your open- mindedness. I first read about the Chinese revolution at age 18 via Edgar Snow’s Red Star Over China. I encourage you to look it up. I was in tears after reading it, and have never stopped my interest in discovering the greatness of the revolution. If you have the chance to go to Nanjing, you should visit the Museum commemorating the massacre/ genocide of 300,000 Chinese folks. Indeed, travelers to China should take the opportunity when they are in China to learn as much about the civilization and history of China, (or any countries they visit, for that matter).Plus, you can appreciate why China has maintained sovereignty and see the importance of it! To understand the geopolitical tensions in the world today and to be rid of US led hegemony China’s history and colonialism the world over must be studied! i👍👍👍

@SLAVAUKRAINI-cb5vt what about the great leap forward? It was a direct revolutionary result of China being bullied by the western nations and the people finally saying ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, we need a revolution to improve the country. The US had their civil war, the French had their own revolutions, so did the English and countless other countries. What's so special about China's revolution and what's so great about YOU westerners that you think you have the moral superiority to poke your arrogant noses into China's internal business? Get off your high horse and address your own country's problems, whether you are American, European, Indian, English, Australian, Pinoy or whatever, all your countries have your own pathetic problems, from drugs to poverty to gun violence to war to neoconic politics. You don't have the right to lecture China about her history when most of your countries and cultures arent even as old as one of China's many dynasties, with less wisdom and civilisation than a minor village in China. And looking at your name you're likely European - you have even less rights than most to criticise China when you're people sailed around the world colonising, enslaving, robbing, murdering, stealing from other nations and cultures. So why don't you just F off as I see you constantly copy pasting your troll comments here. This is what the west has been aiming for, which the West often omits.

@SLAVAUKRAINI-cb5vt Wow, such a rash statement. The census of the Great Leap Forward period showed most deaths were due to famine and the west's sanctions, the numbers have been amplified by the west to support their shrill anti-communist agenda of that time. The Cultural Revolution showed the population of China still increased. The Tiananmen Massacre was not a massacre, various western journalists who were on the spot have attested to it, it was concocted by the CIA as a massacre to demonize China after the failure of the CIA for regime change (which the CIA has and still doing).

In fact, if you understand China without any ideology, from the Qing Dynasty to the modern era, there have been too many things that have happened in the past hundred years. If you immerse yourself in it, you will feel hopeless until you see how this group of people, a group with nothing, has changed everything, and you will be shocked. This is not political propaganda. You just need to read Chinese history as a novel without any bias. This novel, which records over a hundred years of history, can shock anyone who reads it

Bro, I appreciate your fair and friendly attitude. Too many Westerners are prejudiced against China or communism. When they hear the word "communism," they think of terror or 1984. But in fact, the Chinese people essentially do not care about any so-called "ism." We care about one thing: which path can make us richer and more advanced, freeing us from oppression and poverty. The Chinese people have tried almost every path that has appeared in the world, and finally discovered that only this path can lead us to rapid development in a short time. The Chinese have always been a nation most capable of enduring suffering, but as you may know, the pain a hundred years ago was unbearable. I believe no nation’s people can endure plagues, hunger, and wars-it was as if the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse had descended on China. Yes, it was like that a hundred years ago. But then, communism gave the Chinese people hope for rapid development. Just thirty years ago, when I was a child, I wished to have a piece of KFC chicken wing. For this, my mother chased me down two blocks because it was too expensive. What is ordinary daily food for Americans was half a month's salary for her. Thirty years later, I can eat whatever I want, whether it's KFC, McDonald's, or my favorite Burger King. I even need to control my calorie intake to maintain my figure. It's not just fast food; in fact, it's true for any food or anything I like. So-I do not deny the correctness of other countries' paths, but I believe they could not offer the Chinese people such rapid development. I prefer to witness all of this with my own eyes, rather than with my grandson's eyes. The most ordinary people in every country have a common desire, which is to bring happiness to everyone. I am glad we are on the path to overcoming suffering and achieving development.

At the outbreak of China's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in 1937, he led a medical team composed of Canadians and Americans to China in early 1938, arrived in Yan 'an at the end of March, and soon went to the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei border area, where he worked for more than a year. On November 12, 1939, he died in Tangxian County, Hebei Province. The article Outlines Comrade Bethune's experience of coming to China to help the Chinese people in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, expresses deep condolences for his death, highly praises his spirit of internationalism, his spirit of pursuing others without self-interest and his spirit of technological excellence, and calls on the whole Party to learn from Comrade Bethune. In this article, he said this about Bethune. It is a noble man, a pure man, a moral man, a man who is out of vulgar taste, a man who is good for the people. We all miss Bethune, and I wonder what people say about him in Canada?

In 1972, the Canadian government declared Bethune “a Canadian of national historical significance”, creating the Bethune Memorial Home in his hometown of Gravenhurst, Ontario, Canada. He is thus described: “Professionally, Bethune gained international recognition as a skilful, dedicated surgeon; socially, he was more unorthodox. He was a complex man who could both antagonise and inspire.” Other Canadian institutions named in his honour are the Norman Bethune College at York University, Ontario, and the Dr Norman Bethune Collegiate Institute, a secondary school in Scarborough, Ontario. - www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5075949/

@SLAVAUKRAINI-cb5vt The tragedies of Great Leap Forward and Cultural Revolution are admitted by the Chinese Communist Party and being taught in school textbooks in China. Chinese people are taught not to repeat these severe mistakes. If you don't believe me, talk to and check with local Chinese in China. But, 1989 Tiananmen Square event is a taboo and is still being debated internally, owing to the fact that while admittedly, people had been killed, some of them were thugs trying kill the soldiers present in the Square on that day. Maybe after 100 or 200 years later, the Tiananmen Square event will be revealed to all Chinese.

Li Dazhao was one of the earliest proponents of Marxism in China, while Chen Duxiu was an early leader of the Chinese Communist Party. What about so many countries have fallen victim to the USA, because your favorite country has overthrown many legitimately elected leaders, and replaced them with authoritarian regimes? What about there have been more than 100 US-led regime change operation in the world that are illegal, dangerous and destablizing because often the US throw out democracies and bring in authoritarian goverments as long as those authoritarian goverments support the US interest? What about the US that did not comply with the doctrine of non-intervention, which is a global legal doctrine under the UN Charter that expressly states that any country should not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, much less try to overthrow their government? What about the U.S. that always dictate how other countries should select their leaders, who their leaders cannot be, and what laws are appropriate in their land? What about the U.S.'s desire to intervene and their habit of intervention has led to many of problems in the world? What about the U.S.'s powerful PROPAGANDA MACHINES, which make the U.S. as the PERPETRATOR being still described as the protector and defender of human rights?

BTW current congress of CPC is the 20th. Ideology aside, if you look at the history of CPC purely from an entrepreneur point of view, you will be constantly fascinated. Thirteen members attended fhe first congress. The country was at her foot, couldn't get worse. The thirteen had no weapon, no money, only an imported idealogy. They started their career to save China. During their Long journey afterwards, 7 of them quitted the party or betrayed. 4 Died. They went through all the unimaginable and impossible. Only 2 made it to the victory 28 years later. One of the two is Mao. This is where it all started to make what China is today.

@SLAVAUKRAINI-cb5vt You're correct. Sadly museums like this would only talk about the "positives". I'd wish that there would be museums in China that would talk about the Cultural Revolution etc., but with today's government that wouldn't happen. On the other hand, the majority of part of the video shown here is indeed some great stuff, talking about the early days of communist movements and ideologies, and in fact it reflects why the idea of communism was popular in China. In the west you'd never seen any good about at least the idea of early communism, and in China the opposite happens. Philosophies and history are not black and white, and it's rather difficult for people to realize that and be exposed to a more sophisticated viewpoint.

China has endured countless humiliations, signed numerous unequal treaties, and every educated Chinese person would feel indignant about this. The reason for the existence of such museums is to constantly remind the Chinese people to strengthen themselves and never allow the humiliations of the past to befall China again. At the same time, it is also hoped that peace-loving people around the world can learn about the history of the Chinese people's brave struggle through this and take it as a lesson. It is hoped that the future world can be as the plaque on the Tian'anmen Gate Tower says: "Long live the great unity of the people of the world!" @SLAVAUKRAINI-cb5vt first of all, China was left in ruins by western powers and the Japanese after ww2. Famines and hunger were rampant across the country. The Great Leap Forward marked massive industrialization and stabilization in China…. Only western sources without first hand accounts or real data claim that “hundreds of millions” died during those times. Some died yes, but famines were going to happen policy or not because of Chinas conditions. Don’t even get me started on the phony Tianmenn “massacre” that never was 😂😂 you will only hear people talking about this CIA fabricated event in the west Your objectiveness is fake. I bet you support the Nazi azov battalion in Ukraine that’s killed countless Russians in your country and anyone that disagrees with the current regime. Thank you for posting this video, so that non-Chinese people can understand part of the history of the Communist Party of China. China has a long civilization and a glorious past. In history, it has experienced two national destructions and barbaric massacres and rule by foreign races. In modern times, China has been invaded and oppressed by the West, Japan and Russia. China's outstanding people have been looking for a way for China to develop. After the Communist Party of China came to power in 1949, it has also been trying to make Chinese society develop. Chairman Mao Zedong was not a dogmatist. He wanted to transform China from the ideological/cultural perspective and make China rich and strong. He took a lot of detours to achieve today's achievements in China. The foundation of Western culture is exclusive monotheism, so it is easier to view everything with ideology, just like Christianity firmly believes in the uniqueness of God, so it has a strong exclusivity. Chinese culture does not have the only correct God, so it is inclusive and shows a pragmatic color. Whether it is communism or capitalism, as long as it is conducive to social progress, the Chinese will accept it. In fact, the Chinese who have experienced 10 years of ideological struggle are not keen on ideology, and they hate being brainwashed. Therefore, for most Chinese people, any ideology promoted by Westerners will be examined and treated with a calm attitude, and will not blindly follow. In this respect, Chinese thinking is more advanced than that of Westerners. This may be the only benefit that the 10-year Cultural Revolution has brought to the Chinese people.

As a Chinese I’m SO touched and getting emotional while watching this video. It’s so hard to get people from other countries to even try to understand what our country and our civilization has gone through. This is not just some distant history from textbooks. This is every one of our family stories. I remember my grandma telling how she was running while hiding in the rice fields when the Japanese jets shooting through the open field, chasing them up in the sky for fun as if they are animals. This history is truly personal to the Chinese people. We want peace and international communication with all friends. And I love my government like it says “never forget why you started” and I think they are doing it truthfully.

Chen Duxiu was the dean of the Faculty of Arts at Peking University, while Li Dazhao was the director of the Peking University Library. If they had not sought change, Chen Duxiu and Li Dazhao could have lived a life of ease and comfort. However, they chose to be with the people who made up the majority of Chinese society and sacrificed for them. Chen Duxiu's two sons, Chen Yannian and Chen Qiaonian, died in the massacre of the left-wing members of the Kuomintang and the Communist Party of China launched by Chiang Kai-shek in 1927. It is estimated that during the 38-year rule of the Republic of China, at least 10 million Chinese people died in the bloody massacre of Chiang Kai-shek's government. In 1949, with the support of the US government, these executioners, who were stained with the blood of the Chinese people, fled to Taiwan Province.

The meeting took place in 1921, 104 years ago, and the history of the PR.C is 75 years, which means that the country was established after the party, this is different from most countries in the world. 3. From 1921 to 1949, 3.7 million party members with verifiable names died, and then the country was established. Then you should understand what the people around you were doing that day and what this country was about.

Communism is not by choice, but desperation like most asian countries. The entire country was rampaged by war, those deemed democratic were corrupted to the core and were alienated by the west or suffered because of western imperialism denying people freedom. The spread of communism was because of western imperialism and opression. Ho chi minh before he turned to communism asked the US for help to help them be independent from French colonisation, however US choose to side with France. This is why Chinese and Vietnamese communism ideology & practice have evolved successfully into something unlike the original Marxist or Leninism style of communism to become relevant in todays world for their own use supported by majority of their people.

The Great Leap Forward was a big movement proposed by the country at that time to improve production levels. However, due to objective conditions, that is, the infrastructure was too backward, many things such as farmland output could not reach the specified value, so it had to be falsely reported. Too many such incidents caused a lot of waste of national resources, so an emergency stop was made and reforms were made. The Cultural Revolution was a comprehensive movement to eliminate illiteracy, but because of this nationwide activity, it would inevitably affect the wealth of many vested interests. Simply put, those big landlords controlled a lot of wealth, and ordinary farmers could only listen to the landlords, and the farmers were illiterate, so those landlords and government vested interests were beheaded or imprisoned, but it also affected many honest officials, and they were finally rehabilitated. The Tiananmen Incident was ultimately about the government and the business community who wanted to hand over the country's basic defense enterprises to the United States and the West, which led to people taking to the streets, and these anti-thieves were the most liquidated.

The true idealist must also keep their feet on the ground. Beware of leaning too far to the right, but the main concern is guarding against leaning too far to the left. The left-leaning ideology of that time had a lot of idealism, but disregarding the realities can also lead to disasters.

@@x.y.z486 No matter how noble a philosophical ideal is, politicians should prioritize people. A philosophical ideal without "people" is a breeding ground for tyranny. For example, the liberalism in the United States, neo-colonialism, and protectionism based on racism, protectionism based on religious superiority, and elitism based on bloodline and lineage all disregard facts and place ideals above the people. This is why I believe only China and India can balance yin and yang because these two countries do not have an obsessive confidence in their systems; they are always seeking improvement and learning from reality.

When Premier Chou Enlai died he was laid to rest in his old suit because that the best he had. He had only Rmb 500 in his bank account. When Chairman Mao Tze Tung died he had no assets or property left for his family members. Non of his family members had any official positions in the government. These are leaders ho work and serve their people and country.

12:42 There were a lot of international socialists helping Chinese socialists, including some Russians. The brother was killed by mistake in Russian socialists' political disputes. 14:05 The museum is free because all citizens should access to know how the country was born and what the country has experienced recently 200 years (200 years is quite short in history). Knowing where our country came from in order to know where our country will go.

Bethune is the most famous Canadian in China, Chinese people have very good impression towards Canada because of him until it's ruined by some stupid actions of Trudeau. Bethune Memorial House is close to Toronto, probably you could visit someday. Very few Canadians know about him, most of the visitors there are Chinese.

I don't care what labels or names people put behind a government or political party, the only metric that should matter to all of us is how and if the government delivers objective goals and services to its people. Thank you for a candid tour of the museum and showing some of China's history through your lens. Also, the flag they kept showing in the museum wasn't the flag of China(5 stars on red background), but instead it was the flag of the Communist Party of China with communism's iconic hammer and sickle motif.

Because that part of history is still under the regime of ROC, it is a historical mesuem of the party, not the country. For the country, the party is pioneer, and ruling under the spirit of united front.
