Cast Member who worked the treat trails here but i think the ignoring is because they might not know the characters (i might be wrong) but after watching the performers all night multiple nights they almost never address any anime characters or obscure characters simply so they don't have that awkward moment of getting someones costume wrong and having to talk more. Me and some coworkers always tried to compliment some of these obscurer costumes we see since they'll most likely go unnoticed by the performers.

And also I’m not sure about the Keyblade thing, maybe you’re right and they can’t mention it, but I’ve seen plenty of videos and I’ve also went with my friend one day to WDW who brought the Keyblade in (not even for a Halloween party, like a random day in March lol), and so many characters were pointing it out to us. Sometimes they know and sometimes they don’t.

I semi understand why they don’t want to mention characters from different franchises, but imagine being a kid dressed as Mario really excited to go to Disney and just getting ignored by every character because you’re dressed as a character from a different franchise

Fun costumes! I went to Disneyland in late September not too long before Covid lockdown started and I was surprised that the Halloween festivities in California Adventure had already begun! I also remember seeing KH Goofy taking pictures for a few hours and that was all I saw of KH. I understand there is some wonky licensing involved but it would be neat to see more KH representation since you are in DISNEYLAND afterall.

You know it’s funny, I went to Oogie Boogie Bash on the D23 special night, the only ones there were King Mickey (I met him) and Goofy. Donald was gone that night and Mickey and Goofy were rotating rather than meeting together. You guys had great costumes and were really lucky!
