HELLO Hope you guys are having a good start to 2023! This is my first time traveling to Japan, and I wanted to be able to share this experience with you so I hope you enjoy this video :)
I really appreciated your honesty when talking about the dinner. I think a lot of people try to show the positive side to traveling or try not to offend the culture or people but forget to show/talk about some of the negative things that can happen. Besides that though I hope you all have a wonderful and safe time traveling around Japan! 😇✨
just helping another clueless people, those are not tourist trap, those are food in house for your seat, yes you pay for seat in izakaya, and yes many japanese local hates the system, but people can sit hours in izakayas, and the worst of that system is that they usually gives dishes that not many people like, and you can't choose too, it's just bad system but is not specific for tourist. But the food are generally great and still cheaper than many other food stores except konbini or convenience store, which has palatable food and they're weirdly super cheap. Also, adding to the next part of the conversation, honking in most other country is considered aggressive and is the last thing they did, or for their specific uses that's to inform other vehicle that they're present and not as a way of communicating frustration, anger, or just a joy seeing other jeep
Yeah. The English menus with higher prices are another scam. Japan has a xenophobic side, and it's extremely annoying to me as an American living in Taiwan, where I don't feel the same hostility or scaminess. But Japan is super charming too. Nowhere is all good or bad.
i find it super fascinating how an amazing group like this got to know each other mainly because of genshin but also content creation in general. hope y'all enjoy the rest of your japan trip, stay safe!
When I saw the skytree I immediately thought of Haikyu and how Tanaka and Nishinoya would mistake transmission towers for the skytree and Kuroo just laughing at that honestly just made my day
I hope you guys got the JR travel pass that is for foreign tourists only. You pay a single fee depending on the number of days you want and it allows you unlimited use of the JR rail lines including the Shinkansen during that period.
You don’t know how happy it made me when you tried a CC Lemon❤ They’re one of my favorite Japanese sodas along with melon Fanta and lemon Fanta! (If you’re still reading, here are some of my favorite Japanese things coming from someone who lives in Japan❤❤❤) -Some sweets I recommend are Black Thunder, special flavored kit-kats, and Caplico! -Some amazing stores are Daiso (basically a dollar store but better), and Hard Off/Hobby Off (awesome thrift stores with really cheap, good quality merch). -Fun tourist locations include Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, Hakone, Kyoto, and Tokyo (obviously!)
cozy and pretty as usual thank you for bringing us with you haven't been outside of the country for 16 years already but you help a little! have a nice time in japan~
Will there be a video where you will show us your vlogging equipments and editing? All of your vlogs has been truly enjoyable and nicely filmed, and im just soo curious to know how you do your things🙏
This is so cute.... I'm so happy to see how far you've come Ant, and you really know how to make a moment memorable, thank you and have a wonderful time in japan.
This is so cool. I hope you all had a fun and safe trip. ❤ You all get along so well and I love the togetherness! I’d love to travel to Japan. It is my main goal rn and I’m trying to pass all of my subjects so I can get a scholarship! I am already learning some Japanese on my own and learning the culture and lifestyle, how to eat with chopsticks because I have a bunch of them at home and never used it. Your trip looks so fun and I really hope you’re having a great time 🍄✨
apart from the trip the miko mouse pad tho, Hope u have a great time in japan!! Make sure to not push urself to hard, stay safe❤❤ love your content, i know this year u will make it even better than last year
So glad to see that you all started the year together, it’s so wholesome! I hope one day I get to see Japan with my friends too, even if the hour difference would probably cause massive jet lag lol I believe when he said “it’s been such a long day’ he meant it literally considering they got an extra 7 hrs of the day due to time zone difference 🤣
Wish I have the chance some time to visit this country. Hope you had an amazing time and thanks so much for using my song in your video. It is an honor :) NS
Watching this trip from a different POV is such a gem! Traveling to your dream destination with your friends make it even more special. Happy for you guys and we're definitely happy to see this too. ♡´・ᴗ・`♡
Someone must've already posted a comment about it, but those appetizers weren't a "scam". It's a table/service charge called "otoshi" that you usually have to pay for at izakayas or bar type restaurants. And this is something that they charge the locals as well, so it's not some scam against tourists.
Yes, it was a service fee! I said tourist trap in the video because they specifically invited us in off the street to seat a big party, but ended up not seating us all together. Added on top with a very expensive service fee, it felt as if we had been duped to eat there specifically to collect the fee (considering we didn’t order much as well). It was definitely a foreign experience to us so I apologize for mischaracterizating it in the vid, but yes, service charge or table fee would be the proper term to put it in!
@@antonychenn Not a problem! I just noticed one of the top comments was about highlighting the negative parts of a country/culture, so thought it was best to clarify that this was a common practice. But I get it, I would imagine a foreigner having a very similar reaction to the tipping culture in North America.
