Seeing your parents on your trip with you makes me happy. My dad passed away just a couple of weeks ago, and he always said he wanted us to go on vacation to Tokyo. We never got that chance, but this gives me glimpse of how it could have been.

I'm loving it! The Japanese language is so timing and annunciation sensitive. Kowai means scary while kawai means cute. Small difference can make a big impact.

9:40 Shinjuku. I was just there last week. I want to go back already. Recommend family mart fried chicken. Explore as much as you can. The culture there is so much different compared to Los Angeles. The Jr jy line goes in a loop, so if you miss it, it will eventually go back to your original location. Have fun.

Yeah, I was here two weeks ago, stayed in an Airbnb..Honestly, the best time of my life..Even if it was mostly spent getting videogames, and geeky stuff..The Golden week rush and Kanda Matsuri festival made it so worthwhile..Just watching this video makes me already miss the experience already..Would love to go back again!! and its hopefully with my parents this time!

YOU SAID IT RIGHT!!! Eigo ga wakarimasuka? (written in japanese as 英語が分かりますか）don't be so hard on yourself :) According to alllll of my Sensei's and many of my Japanese friends "it's appreciated when people try to speak our language because we don't expect it. it makes us happy." give it your best shot :) there are two words that are very similar in japanese (among many others) but Kawaii (cute), and Kowai (scared).. when saying cute emphasize the ka a little more, and make sure the ii is held a second longer

14:14 cute is “kawaii”, and the double i means you need to lengthen the “ee” sound at the end. If you don’t, it sounds like you’re saying “kowai” which means scary lol
