Hi everyone! So if you haven’t seen the end of the video, I have an extra ticket for the experience. If you are able to go with your child/a young relative within the next 120 days to the Orlando location, leave a comment and I’ll mail it to one of you at random. Thank you!! ✨

So is your little brother a genuine child or an older teen? I have no idea how old you are! :) When I used to help my friend who worked at a children’s museum as an unaccompanied adult I always had to go to a special desk and hand over my driver’s license for them to keep until I was done because they don’t trust adults who come without kids, even to help with an event 🤣 And like I understand why! But it made me feel like they thought I was a creeper! 😂

I'm gonna give a hot take, but hear me out: anyone who says stuff like that probably shouldn't have been a parent in the first place...! Like, if you're not going to be an active participant, then what even is the point? If I were the kid in that situation, I would feel guilty about "making Mom pay to go in with me when she doesn't want to be here" and I would remember my parent saying that for my whole life.

"As an adult don't do this.." NO. Absolutely as an adult TAKE PART. Enjoy the experience. You paid for it! I really appreciate you not showing the kids. While I will never have any myself, I can't stand people posting random unblurred kids on the internet. You simply never know who's watching and who's paying attention to the area/location. For their privacy and safety there is NO reason to show children all over the internet. Idc if they're sharing a public space with adults. You gained a lot of respect from me for that!
@Polyeurythane
@Polyeurythane 3 месяца назад
Exactly! I was watching a commentary video about the TikTok home renovators doing a terrible job, and one of the home reno people featured was outlining the process on their own home. Not only do they show off the outside of the front of the house (it was a plantation home/mansion looking outside, which makes it that much easier to find), but they give a tour of the inside including the rooms where the two little girls will specifically be sleeping! I was appalled that the mom was so willing to give out that information because who knows if some creep living in that area might come across that TikTok and do something. I don’t plan on being a parent due to personal reasons, but if I did have one I would not be plastering where we live and where they sleep for every creep and weirdo on the internet to entertain any twisted notions they may have.
@abinnohr6497
@abinnohr6497 3 месяца назад
@@Polyeurythane This exactly! Kidnappers (mostly human traffickers) don't just snag any random child off the street most of the time. They're typically careful of who they take, when they take them, and how they take them. They plan ahead and prepare what they need and plan their napping based around the location they're planning to act upon. This is also how adults go missing, but adults aren't as valued in the trafficking system as kids. One peek inside the reality of human trafficking would change the minds of most.

My favorite when I worked for a national park was a middle-aged woman who complained that the trail she'd walked that morning "Was not well maintained." Why? She saw a snake on the trail. A trail that ran through a wildlife protection area, in a national park. Apparently she thought that we would just... get rid of all the snakes in all national parks as part of our trail maintenance because *obviously* national parks/forests exist solely for her enjoyment and not to, you know, protect and maintain these beautiful environments & all the livings things that inhabit them, snakes included.

My parents are a bit on the older side and my mom especially always had health issues, so a lot of activities my brother and I wanted to do as a kid were not really feasible for them to join in on, but for safety reasons they couldn't just let us in alone. I think what would be a good compromise is adult+child bundles that are at a discount, so if a child's ticket is $25, up to two adult tickets could be bought for $15 each, so the parents who aren't into the activity don't have to pay full price for their tickets, and the loss on adults who do participate is covered by the ones who don't.

Being a parent is hard, it's exhausting at times and sometimes it's even boring when your child wants to do the same thing over and over and over again. Parents can't be "on" 24/7, so I think some people like having a place where their kids can have a good time while they themselves can have a little break while still being in the vicinity of their kids. But judging parents for not being perfectly engaged 100% of the time is something people online just love to do.

About the 'hot' complaint, I used to work in a grocery store and they're kept quite cold to keep all the produce from going bad, but I had a couple of older ladies sweating and acting like they were dying. They complained to me that it was way too hot in there. No one else, even us employees who were running around lifting heavy objects repeatedly, had any problems. Some people have health conditions that affect how they feel temperatures and they never seem aware that it's a *them* issue and not an *everyone* issue.

Re: wristbands or whatever, that'd put the staff in a position of policing who is and isn't allowed to do the activities, and kicking people out, which would change the whole vibe and make things less pleasant and less fun and more adversarial. That's probably not the atmosphere they want.
@ChloeRoseArt
@ChloeRoseArt 3 месяца назад
not really! It would just mean that you could only get in line and be given crayons for the activities with a wristband since the staff hand you the crayons to do them. If you didn't have a wistband you could watch/be with kids but not have crayons to do it yourself. Works well for Disneys after hours events keeping night guests separate from day guests after closing!

No kids, in my 30’s I went with just my husband to the Orlando location. We had a lot of fun! Regarding the idea of adults accompanying kids to amusement parks for free: They actually do have a setup like this at the indoor amusement park in the Mall of America! It was formerly Camp Snoopy, now rebranded as Nickelodeon Universe. As it’s the center of the mall anyone can cut through or walk around, but you had to have a wristband (or individually purchased credits, etc) to scan at entrance of each ride line in order to take part. So we could buy an all-day wristband for me, my mom (who doesn’t like rides really) enjoyed reading her book on a nearby bench at no cost, I would go on a bunch of rides and check back in frequently, we’d go have lunch together somewhere, etc.

For $26 you could also just get a few boxes of crayons and clay and make a similar experience that would last way way longer. Only 2 tokens is ridiculous to me. They should double that because you can find a single crayon and a packet of clay for a dollar each at the dollar store. There's nothing about this experience that really seems worth the money to me. I’m taking her to an amusement park at some point in the next few weeks because I love seeing her have fun and just be a kid, I can’t imagine wanting someone else to look after her in a place like this you just miss your child having fun and being happy.

My elementary school took us on a field trip here in PA! I remember most of the stations and back in second grade like, 2006? Something like that- They gave out three tokens. There was also an exhibit on waterways and canals since it was Easton PA a lot of the surrounding towns relied on canals. It was actually really fun and this is super nostalgic 😭💜

Season pass member here! I bought year passes this year and it’s totally worth it. I wish I converted my ticket to membership on my first visit. The upgrade cost is low considering membership benefits. For one year you get unlimited visits, member only scrubby buddy, 20% off at gift shop. Heck I bought a green crayon popcorn bucket for like 6 bucks and as a member my refills are like a dollar. We’ve been here 10+ times and can still easily spend an hour chilling and creating art together. It’s a 10 out of 10 for me.

In Ireland we have a theme park where kids under a certain age go free into the designated "kid zone" and have a wristband that denotes that, so really only the parents have to pay for a full price ticket and I think thats the fairest option. The parents are more than likely just going to sit while the kids go on rides, but a fee has been taken to accommodate it and if they WANTED to go on any rides, or accompany a kid on one, they can.

I worked with a client a few years back and we went to the Crayola Experience at MOA at least once a month. There was a LOT to do there, and the kid had a lot of fun! Absolutely loved the playground there and playing with the modeling clay, and there was plenty for the adults to do. The issue with parents being like "there's nothing for the adults to do" really mean "there isn't a place **I** can go while the staff watch my kids for me"

Regarding the amusement parks, in my country we have only 1 and it used to have 2 types of paid entry fees: 1 all access and 1 you bought tickets for each of the rides. When I was about 15 years old they changed the second one so you now have free access to the park grounds but have to buy tickets for the rides, the all access pass gives you a wristband. So it definitely can be done

Not going to lie, I would love to go there as a 46 year old so called adult! Looks absolutely fun! Of course there are none near me or places I tend to haunt, but maybe if I see one on our next walkabout I'll stop in if it's not too crowded. I think if you use your head and go to places like this when there's generally not going to be a lot of people you would be okay in terms of crowds. We went to SeaWorld during Christmas vacation one year and it was so much fun. We sat on one ride just going through it over and over without having to get out and get back in line as no one was there. And it wasn't too bad weather wise either.

I live a couple miles from the Arizona one. I was underwhelmed by price for value. But the kids loved it, everything worked, and they each won things from the claw machine. They have wanted to go back, I think the store is the best part. My daughter (9) is an art snob, thanks RU-vid and wouldn’t deign to use crayola markers/pencils over her POSCA, Prismacolor, or Ohuhu, but I love the store.

17:58 I agree on what your saying like a pumpkin patch that is near my house does this like you could get on for free to get pumpkins but you don’t get the wristband to participate in activities they have but if you pay you get the wristband and the activities i like that they have that and more amusement parks should do this if they just want to enjoy the view or just watch their kids.

i grew up around 45 minutes from the original one in Easton, which was connected to the actual crayola factory. (it was also randomly connected to some history about the erie canal? idk why) i still remember the demonstrations showing how markers and crayons were made, and we got a marker fresh off the line! it was a popular birthday party place and i went a lot. i went back as an adult in around 2017 b/c i had child visitors from another country, and i still had a ton of fun!

Ah the memories. I remember when I was a child, there was only one location and it was just called The Crayola Factory. It also had a museum attached to it, though now that museum moved out to its own space. But good memories for sure. Granted, that was nearly 20 years ago, so it's probably very different now, but I remember my many visits back then quite fondly!

I'm from within driving distance to the Easton, PA location and I'm surprised at how different it is! It's a much more linear "museum-like" experience rather than a big open floor plan, with a focus on educational displays. It does have a lot of the same attractions though, like the custom crayon labels and drip art. There is no crayon-bot that draws your face, but! The coolest activity (imo) was a series of terminals where you could make a doodle and it would be projected into a huge scene on the wall, moving around and interacting with everyone else's doodles.

I did actually want to go ever since I was a kid, especially when I saw discount tickets on the Dunkin Donuts locations I went! The thing is, I would be happy drawing and scribbling, but the rest of my relatives wouldn't be a bit of amused about going to somewhere that isn't an amusement park •v•; They suggested a family trip with a different ticket for Dorney Park, but I refused since that leads to everyone enjoying the rides, except for a grumpy owl who stayed in the parked car as they rather go here than be bored in a place that only she's having a blast, so we ended up never picking up the tickets anyway ; ∆ ;

I took my family a few years ago to the Crayola Experience win PA. Absolute nightmare. Too crowded, employees don’t care, and generally unsafe. They let a ton of people in for entirely too small a space. There was ONE elevator, which you need to get into the place, which was just terrifying to think of in case of an emergency, one bathroom, with one stall, and the singular lightbulb hanging haphazardly from the ceiling was flickering. My son was knocked down and bleeding - at least 5 employees walking by saw him and said nothing. Other moms helped, though, so it was nice to see parental solidarity. I’m a grown adult and I had a complete sensory meltdown, I can’t imagine a child. As we were leaving in the one elevator in the whole place, my husband looked at the similarly disillusioned parents standing silently in there and went “So, this place sucks, huh?” Only pleasant experience anyone in that elevator had all day. Never again. Never, ever again. Don’t do this to yourself or your child.

One thing I would say about non participation and tickets is that it can be difficult for people with disabilities. So when my kid wants a family day at blackpool pleasure beach, I literally cannot go on the rides, and unlike disney it's not like just being there is an experience. So in that case we were definitely salty to have to pay for full ticket. Crayola experience looks brilk though, glad you gave it a fair shot.

Tbh i dont like when people try and disprove others 1 star reviews. Its possible to have a totally different experience but doesnt mean their opinion isnt valid. Nothing would annoy me more than being totally let down by somewhere enough to leave a bad review and then someone come along and make out im just a Karen 😅 especially when it would take a real lot for me to leave a bad review in the first place! It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth when ppl do that. That being said, I also don't think it's fair to rate a business based on things they have no control over like the weather 😂 and complaining its not free lol. But dismissing others opinions is not cool. Edit im mainly talking about the comments and not the video.

I worked as a guest experience host at Legoland discovery centre (so not the same as the crayola experience but the same concept of family friendly interactive centres) And honestly it was sometimes such a difficult job because of how critically harsh and abusive customers could get when something wasn’t working. There was a penny press machine that wasn’t working and as soon as I started my shift in the morning and hurtling abusive at me for something I literally could not fix, it’s very stressful. Regarding the poor reviews talking about the state of the crayons everywhere all I can say is they really don’t understand the effort that goes into trying to tidy up while not interfering with someone’s experience. I had to get on my hands and knees throughout the day picking up tiny pieces of Lego that kids threw onto the floor and it was an absolute ball ache. Not to mention the hour and a half clean we had to do at the end of every day before we were even allowed to go home to make sure the place was spotless with no Lego anywhere only for the next day to get excatly the same. The fact they have places for kids to draw on is very cute, but I look at it from the perspective of the clean that must be done every single day after the attraction closes and my God I feel for the workers. I also was the person in the meet and greet Lego costume and while fun, it was incredibly tiring to do it 4x a day with kids that punched and kicked you while sweating so much. Regarding the staff, please keep in mind how stressed we are while trying to put on smiles and be as helpful as possible, because no word of a lie, the abuse we receive for no reason when we are trying our best to help is insane in family-friendly attractions. Parents can be… unpleasant to say the least. Not to mention being treated like shit by management. Anyway, please if you visit these places be nice to the people who interact, host workshops or just work there in general. I know that you’ve paid and you want the very best experience possible, but if things go wrong being abusive to us will just not help anyone’s day get better.
