I travelled slum and non-slum both areas around those cities. Noise pollution feels like almost same to me as well. I just found some posh areas of those cities quite & calm. I suggest you to visit cities of China, Thailand, Brazil, Mexico. You will experience the difference about noise pollution among those and Indian ones as well. Man, I can assure you that the cities of those countries are more more & calm compared to the Indian cities. You can check by yourself, if you don't want to believe me.

If British didn't invade India in the colonial-era, then Indian sub-continent would be a place of several countries way more than 3 countries at present state. Not really but but dirt happens and it's part of the experience. In all the countries I've lived I've never missed the street food. It's always great. When I lived in Turkey I was sick almost every week but there was no way I was going to miss the food. Those "nice" places are generally for tourists and they never taste right.
