Are you a collector at all. Do you collect a certain thing? For me its hotel pens. For a lot of years I was collecting money from different countries. But now its pens. Nice and easy. What about everyone else. Let me know. Do you also like going to these Flea market / Swap meet type places. I am also on Telegram, if you want to chat to me there: t.me/travellingwithrussell If you perhaps want to help out the channel, and see it grow. I was a collector and hoarder. So, I’m a rehabilitated hoarder and no longer collect things. This 3 day weekend I have pledged to go through my boxes and storage to get rid of a lot of my stuff. I’ll have more room to move around and save money by getting rid of the storage unit. (well, I say no more, that’s what I promised.)

@@TravellingwithRussell the natural color of vinyl is transparent-ish white, so even black records are made of dyed vinyl. They use carbon (basically coal) for it, and it's not just makes it black, but opaque and more durable. Color records just use regular dyes, that's why they are still kinda see-through and not as rigid as the regular black. And because of that they got worn out way faster. And, that's why they're so rare: 1) people preferred more durable records, so there were less demand for colored records worldwide even back when they were making them. 2) Most of produced colored records haven't survived to this day.

In the US, I used to like going to flea markets with my parents when I was young, finding old and interesting things. Nowadays, flea markets are just full of cheap, new Chinese crap and knockoffs. I've seen a few videos of flea markets in Russia and would love to go to one of them. I'd love to find an old samovar, Soviet era posters and things, and even old cameras and a short-wave radio. I like old tools, coins, and knives; or just anything really interesting. I'd love to find an antique meat cleaver like at 10:55. Actually, I saw a lot of things I would love to have bought. Nice video, Russell.

A very interesting video for me. I used to vist the model railways and computer swap meets in the UK a few years ago. Sadly the lockdowns stopped them and there are now very few local to me. A great place to find rare items, but you have to be careful and examine them fully and know what is a fair price.. More of these videos please Russell.🙂👍💗

In Melbourne we call Flea Markets Trash and Treasure markets. Normally held outside where people come to sell their secondhand items on a one off basis and others are there every week (items then tend to be more expensive). Unfortunately after COVID lockdowns ended most of these markets never reopened. Here looks like everyone is a dealer and you’ll find the same things every time you go. Can you haggle with the price? No I’ve never seen coloured records

Yes I bought a blue LP years ago. It was the music from the movie JAWS. I still have it. When we lived in Australia I wanted to go search for Opals. That never happend. But at the fleemarket in the parkingspace under Lismore Square I found a boulder Opal ring and I was so happy for that. We bought clothes, fruit, vegetables, plants and other things there to. It was one of the best fleamarkets I've been to.

Back in the day, in the 90s to early 2000s you could buy a bunch of stuff on Russian flea markets. You could get Ak's, grenade launchers and a lot of other things. At this time there was basically Anachist Capitalism in the country going on. Truly crazy times back then, my parents told me a lot about them, they lived in those times in Russia and left Russia exactly because of them.

29:36 Russel, its not that you arent old enough, its just that the things arent grabbing you so to speak. The purpose in my opinion of collecting is because you enjoy it or it brings you joy. My sin collects these toy things called funco pop (i think). I used to collect knives. You cant just pick somethjng randomly otherwise it wont be fun for you, you have to pick something you like, something you know about or want to learn more about . Or just ainply think its cool. If you want to collect something i would advise to look at thing that dont take up a lot of space like coins, stamps, old money that isnt used anymore, might be interesting and also woildnt take up a lot of space since it seems from videos apartments where your at storage space is at a premium

There are such different places. 16 million people only live in Moscow for starters.

@@brinjoness3386 I'm not criticising my government I'm just saying that the Australia is way behind in train lines and public transport compared to other countries and our government could be doing more about it

I used to see shoe shiners at airports or downtown bus stations, but I haven’t seen any recently.

I'll be honest as a Russian. This flea market looks dreadful. The absolute worst tendencies of Russian excess and bad taste. And none of the good stuff, I couldn't even spot a single khokhloma or samovar.

Do you seriously only make films for English-speaking viewers? So why are you asking questions that only Russians can answer? Is it really too difficult for you to say "good morning" in Russian ?

Reminds me of a place here in Walla Walla, Washington in the USA called "The Country Store". Shopkeepers rent a spot and sell wares. Everything has an identifying tag on it so the cashier(s) know from which vendor the item(s) came. The place in huge. Then, just down the road on the other side is a place called "Klickers". It's kind of similar except I believe it's one family who owns it. There are basically MANY different "departments" in the store including food. Everything (including the food) is either local, eclectic or both.

Надо теперь другие города показать. Предлагаю - Кисловодск. Попьёшь минеральной воды, погуляешь по тропе здоровья, долине роз, увидишь Эльбрус, а главное, покажешь это своим подписчикам.
