We head down to Todber Manor Fisheries to have a Parker Baits Social on Big Hayes! 48 hour session where we had a lot of fun and met so many people, including other youtubers and subscribers!
This session didnt quite go as well for me on the fishing front as I would've liked it to but my poor winter form is consistent at least!

blanking sucks, especially when others are catching around you "but that's fishing" 🙂 Learning new skills and tactics from other anglers is great for continuous improvement of the hobby, however going back to basics can also produce the fish, simple hair rigs, inline leads, PVA bags even method feeders (Todber tactics that worked for me). keep the videos coming m8

Cracking video Aaron. I really enjoyed that mate. Wish I was there tbf, I’ll try get in the next one. Food looked good too. A Little tip for cooking those curries in the ridgemonkey, just add a splash of water to help it cook, the water will dissolve so it won’t make it all watery but it helps steam the food in the ridgemonkey. Looking forward to the next one.

nice one mate. I'm new to carp fishing myself mate like 14 months inn. had a bad winter myself. i started off fishing float and loved my feeder quivertip rod. on the rivers ect. spend 1000s in gear now guess you could say all he gear no idea. I've learnt from you mate especially cooking recipes on the bank lol would have never thought of a microwaved meal in a ridge monkey. unfortunately I'm a pro a blanking in the winter so noting learnt there. lol just busting your balls man, thanks for for the content mate can see your genuine and just want to be better like myself. watching people like ben just pulling out 30s like noting and getting double takes is crazy, they must have powers like dr do little and bribe the fish with infinite amounts of parker baits lol. he's a legend that ben.

Watching these vids back as I'm housebound with a knackered shoulder.... pizza on the ridgemonley is 👌, get some parchment paper on the toppings, can cook them properly but won't stick to the pan then 👊

Good video. Open and honest and its not all about catching. You clearly spent lots of time gleaning information from others and that's what being part of a team is all about. Winter is never easy and you are still new to the game - at least you are out there learning.

Looks like an epic session! Not so much for the fishing but the social side for sure. Fishing is still very tricky at this time of year. Just keep going and have fun! As long as you have bait and a hook in the water there is always a chance! I’m yet to go for my 1st proper session this year… 😔

In big Hayes you will catch so many more fish if you fish small , something like two 10mm fruit and nut straight bottom baits on the hair and a little mesh bag with 7 or 8 10mmers , 20 or 30 10mm catapulted over the spot . You will pick up a few on the hinge rigs , if your using bags keep them as small as possible

I've actually had takes a few times when a boat has gone over my spot, it's almost like sometimes a bit of disturbance makes the fish take and run

Hello mate thanks for the comment! I’m not so sure on the numbers but we were fishing the side that backs onto Little Hayes. The fish were coming out in the middle between the two islands!
