A few days ago, Ankita won the gold medal in the women's 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:17.25 at the India Open U-23 Athletics Championships. Hailing from Himachal Pradesh, Ankita competes in both the 5000m and 3000m steeplechase events. She represented India in the 5000m at the Paris Olympics but did not qualify for the finals.
